If this was the NFL, he'd been cut years ago. I love guaranteed contracts and all but, there has to be some provisions for players like Ben Simmons so that the team can get out of the contract. He (ben) was traveling with the team, at practicing with the team and getting paid as a pro with professionals in the NBA for a FULL SEASON. Donovan Mitchell was in college. The year Mitchell first played HE was a rookie. Ben Simpmons was NOT. Loved when Mitchell wore that shirt defining what a rookie actually is. 🫳🎤

Ben Simmons is a guy that genuinelly had a potential to greatness.
If he had 1% of the mindset a guy like Jimmy Buckets have he could compete to be one of the best guards in the league.
The fact that you think of him as a guard is actually the problem. The 76ers tried to make him a PG for some reason despite the fact that he couldn't shoot in an era where guards NEED to be able to shoot. Ben should have been a forward. He WAS a forward and the 76ers inexplicably took the fact that he had decent ball handling and passing ability and used that to justify sticking his 6'10" ass permanently in the PG position. His career was killed in the crib.

Ben in the Dunker spot = clodded paint, Put him in the corner = Defender will help 10/10 times. Same for the wing. He is a non factor without the ball, so what option do you really have? This all circle back to the fact that, he had to work on his game, which unfortunately was never his focus.
