  • Javelin is the envelope we at WMD have always needed to make. We took the best parts from our classic Multimode Envelope and combined them with the simplicity and convenience of an ADSR with integrated VCA. We then took the tricks we have learned from live performance and use of other awesome synthesizers and put it all together to create what we truly believe is the ultimate Eurorack envelope.
    In this video, Alex goes through all of the features and functions of Javelin including the very unique Accent control.

    bought my second Javelin pretty much just a few days after my first one - as soon as you get your hands on it, it's completely obvious what a great ADSR/VCA combo this is for any small OR large case. I think that's what makes it so excellent - many modules shine in either small or large racks (not both), but a Javelin (or two) is exceptionally nice in any-size layouts

      Excellent in my compact setup

    The accent progressively going higher on successive hits reminds me of Natural Gate. I bet you could mult the Javelin output to both a filter cutoff and VCA to mimic an LPG and create a similar effect. Javelin is on my wish list for sure!

      Just had to leave time behind while filming this demo haha. I didn't even notice 'til half way through the edit.

    Damn, son. These new modules are so good. The last thing I need is another envelope and now I need this one. [SHAKES FIST AT THE SKY]

      The accent functionality is worth the price of admission alone.

    My Javelin arrived yesterday, it's awesome. One of those modules you plug in and instantly go, 'woah, this is great'. I've barely scratched the surface, this thing is so versatile. I need another one!

    Saw that this dropped and got one immediately from Perfect Circuit. I have been looking for a good envelope generator that I could use with the accent out on the Stepper Acid, and this is basically the ideal solution. Just received it this afternoon and have the Livestock Bang running into the Filter 8 into the Javelin. It's PERFECT. You guys are indeed killing it. Talked to a couple of my homies that are into this shit as well and both of them have incoming WMD pieces as well. Keep up the great work!!!

    That is so cool, Truly a live performance machine. Images of the Meat Locker/Blood Shower scene in the movie "Blade" come to mind, LOL.

    I remember thinking that I would never see WMD stuff with black panels. Unfortunately, that was always my excuse for not buying your modules. Now, I'm screwed.

    What happens when I use a trigger instead of a gate? Does it skip the sustain portion of the envelope? I'm thinking to use it with drum triggers. Thanks!

  • @MrMarcLaflamme
    @MrMarcLaflamme Před 4 lety

    Wow what a great module! If you bypass the VCA can you still output the envelope cv? I couldn't see the jacks. (EDIT - I forgot about the static image at start. I see the ENV jack - guessing this is still active if VCA is bypassed?) Also would have been nice to hear more of the exponential envelopes as I think it was on linear for most of the video. Still fantastic features! I really like the accent and the trigger mode.

  • @FabriceMillion
    @FabriceMillion Před 2 lety +1

    What is the best way of getting a sharp Attack/Decay envelope with Javelin? With CV control over the decay ofc :)

    • @WMDevices
      @WMDevices  Před 2 lety +3

      New video coming tomorrow showing of AD and AR styles with Javelin! I personally like to set it to be an AR for this, then you have easy control over A and R with CV. put Decay all the way down and sustain all the way up, then you can just use Attack and Release controls. Use the mode switch if you want to use triggers instead of gates to trigger the envelope. to get a more "snappy" sound, experiment with the EXP settings for more exponential shapes.

    How did you “record” the cv?

    • @WMDevices
      @WMDevices  Před 4 lety +1

      Metron's Voltera expander gives you CV Sequencing for Metron. Just enable record and wiggle the knob to record knob movements for CV!

    Two minutes in and I’m lost. Would be better to use diagrams. Hard to understand the signal flow when it’s all white cables and not zoomed in

    Ah, dang, a bit disappointed about only 88 minutes per stage. I'm making music for whales in the oceans of Jupiter and it has to be very slow

    • @WMDevices
      @WMDevices  Před rokem +1

      Yeah we knew it'd be a disappointment to some. We were hoping for decades, years, hell even months, but our engineers could only squeeze out a measly 88 minutes! Amateurs... Much love ;)

  • @unfamiliarenvironments

    I can't buy this because theres no variety of sounds sources in this demo to give me any confidence.... barely any demos or even videos of people using it. Can we have something not hard acidic techno?? a lil more organic - variety of sound sources???
