Initial Shake Down in my Project 240sx! + Glass Install!

- The past year and a half I have been reviving my project 240sx since the crash. After replacing the RB25 turbo and intercooler, welding up an old RSR exhaust, and installing type x tail lights, it was time for a test drive! We finish this video with installing 180sx quarter glass!
I spent the last 7 years building this 1990 Nissan 240sx from the ground up by myself. I swapped out the KA24e for a KA24de. Then once more for a RB25det out of a R34 Skyline and couldn't be happier. I have also converted the 240 to right hand drive, (which ended up saving my life!) After installing a few drift parts; such as a hydro E - Brake, and dual rear calipers, welded diff, solid suspension bushings and more, the car handled amazing. Surprisingly this S13 was able to drift and stay sideways perfectly despite the damage that was done to it.

You don't want to dip your car because it removes paint from every crevice. Unless you dip the car into paint, you can't protect all of those crevices. Just something to think about.
Any where you prime don’t forget to paint. Primer will actually absorb moisture and rust more through your time if you don’t paint it. Trust me I’ve Mb add that mistake to many times
Im curious of what you learned or where you learned working on cars. Im 17 and also wanting to work on cars like you do and do it by myself not from any shop. The paint of the front left fender would fit the car very well. Love your vids, love the build keep it going💪🏼

Hey Mike awesome work well done.. the blue fender match the engine cover and with the new set of chrome rims really cool might give you an idea to paint it midnight blue or metallic blue or even purple-blue.. but if you ain't sure yet wrap it up and then you can remove latter if you don't like it.. Remember you must like it first we just here to watch.. ohh real quick mention keep the 240SX side glasses for extra pair of spare parts you never know what storm or hail might fall.. ;0)

That indigo blue is really beautiful, white is definitely a classic JDM color but in my opinion this car deserves something special after all that work
One idea could be 240Z samurai colours, as it has survived like a warriour and Mike has integrity and honour from the heart. Bit full on to say, but at 55 i'm looking round and thinking it should be revered more. Anyway, long may this channel continue.

the 180sx has been my dream car for years and sometimes I get discouraged because college is expensive but this was one of the videos that reminds me what I'm working for.
For me it came to that point that every time Mike moves the camera I expect a magic transition to another shot where the part is already installed

this car was a complete total loss and instead of giving up and allowing the car to be scrapped, you have made a commitment to rebuild this car from the bottom up and created something special here, you have gain many skills through this rebuild and I cannot wait to see what the final result of this car is

TH1 (blue) is a great color and I think you're right keeping white maintains this car's legacy best.

The blue is a lovley color but its a bit dark and white on camera shows so much better with all the lines etc definitely nicer in a glossy white shine

The more of your videos I watch, the more I regret not finishing my 5.0 swapped 240sx. I sold the car when I needed some cash, and the buyer had it running a week later. Pretty sure that car is somewhere in Iowa now, but I haven't seen or heard about it. Thanks for posting the journey of this car!

That dark blue is definitely the way to go. The white is iconic for your build but I think a color change is a great way to show that you’re past just rebuilding the car. Like a new chapter for the car now that it’s put back together

Maaaann, massive props to you, basically literally building a new s13 from the ground up.
I wrapped my RX8 sideways around a light pole a month-ish ago and was sure that'd be the end for it, but watching you do all this honestly gave me the confidence to get busy with the angle grinder and welder to rebuild my daily lmao. Now today I'm putting the front bumper on it and taking it for a rip. All that's left is to paint match the new door and fender on it.

The blue would look so good with those rims u bought as well as the matching valve cover. But then again idk its so hard to choose lol - the car would look great nonetheless and has an epic redemption arc behind it. Keep it going with the godly content mate

I think if you going to paint it you got to stick with the white, although I do think the blue is a nice colour it wouldn't seem the same :) Personally though I would clean up the welds and flaking paint areas and just clear coat it as is :) Just a foot note over her in the UK this car would be so very illegal lol please stick with your plans to put a cage in it :)
