This repair took a couple days. No it didn’t come out flawless. However neither did my smaller dents did when I first started in 1991.
Today, there are others who also do repairs like this and some do it even better. Truth is, we all want to get better. And we don’t by turning down damage we haven’t given a try.
The future of paintless dent removal is here. Big smashes that need the right experience and tools to assist with cleaner repairs.
You’ll learn all the how and why on www.denttrainer.com

Bro don’t downplay your work. You did an incredible job. At least a 60 percent improvement. Take this thumbs up 👍🏾
Thank you.
It amazes me when I see what you guys are able to do with these basic tools and an understanding of the metal and the dent. When I first saw the damage I said there is no way you can fix this - it needs a new panel. Just amazing.
those tools might look basic but it takes alot of finesse to understand how to use those tools properly
@@fishingwithjavi5324 That's what I was implying. They "read" the dent and know where to pull, push, tap and which one to do first. I bought a very rudimentary kit and tried taking a dent out of my kids fender. I got it to look a lot better but the closer I got to the end the more I started screwing it up. Finally took it to a local guy who looked at it and immediately said "who ever did this was starting to stretch the metal". I told him it was me that did it and I knew that I was going to end up making it worse. He worked on it for about 15 or 20 minutes and now you'd have to look at it damn hard and in the right light to realize that it had ever been dented.
Hey man, it's perfect for the previous condition.
Most important to know when to stop.
Great job
Great repair. It’s so nice to hear a humble dent tech! It’s not perfect but I bet you learned a lot in the process. I feel like that’s what matters most. Learning something while making a client happy in the process.
Minor imperfections?? That is a masterclass repair!! Most would have written that panel off , fair play for taking the job on! 👌👌👌
I’m a traditional body tech and I would love to be able to do this stuff to save time with nails and stud guns. Great job!
Fabulous preview Myke! Can't wait to watch the full version. It is amazing what you did with that mess.
Thank you Lee. A definite battle.
Solid repair my friend! The dent remover USA 25 years pushing dance bro and that is definitely for that repair amazing! I don't know what you charge for it but I understand the challenge of it! body shop would have had to hit them at like 1500 to to repair the damage. Thank you for sharing that technique of pushing with your body weight instead of your shoulder and arm I've been using that for years and I'm 57 and I'm a little little broke but using that method is definitely save my shoulders in my elbows! Probably been watching your videos for the last 10 plus years and love them keep up the great work my friend!
Thank you Michael. Really appreciate the positive input. 👍
I'm a body and paint tech, and I would never been able to do that. I would've replaced the panel and painted it.
Awesome job! I need to learn this.
Lmao same thing I was thinking “ time to get the sawzall and drill out
I'll bet there's good money to be made if you do learn it.
That’s not called body work, that’s called replacing parts. Unfortunately most body shops have gone that way now. What this guys is going in the video is called real body work.
Nahiyan Haq this was a scenario where the damage area is huge however the paint is all intact ... if the paint is cracked at all any reputable shop would never “ repair “ this panel. On cars like this, quarter panels are part of the infrastructure integrity of the car, can’t just pop it out put bondo and call it a day!
@@Nahiyanize
I could have fixed that quarter panel, just not by pdr. If that was an insurance job, the insurance company would have me replace the panel because for them it is faster and cheaper. The bad thing about that is they would pay for an inferior thinner ill fitiing POS panel to install which takes a ton of extra work to install with it not being right with no extra pay. That makes me have to do free aggravating work. I have learned to refuse to install junk parts.
Btw, uninstalling and installing parts is part of bodywork.
What amazes me more is how a damage that big has no scratches on the paint, what hit it a giant pillow? Was pulled out nicely .
Someone falling into the car butt first
@@retrox684 Butt or belly 😊
me and a buddy were just talking about this how do all these cars get no paint loss but are completely fucked up
Deer 🦌
Dude... straight up.. your talents are ridiculous! Thanks for all your instruction. God Bless you.
Many thanks most impressed. The other nite some fella tried to attack my daughter in the driveway and scuffed and dented same spot not as bad. Now called our local pointless dent repair company.
I live Western Australia that's why not called you. Anyway thanks for giving me faith.
Hope all is well with your daughter. Many thanks Chuck. 👍
As a customer I would be super stoked, maybe not 100% but high 90's👍👍👍
Was parked and got sideswiped and other driver took off. My fender got a 6 inch dent in it just behind the bumper, but not nearly as bad as this Corolla. This video helped me calm down and realize it’s repairable. Thanks!
I was very impressed with your work, not only did you have very bad dent with creases to work with, but you made the panel look 99.9 percent better, to excellent!
always amazed at the results you guys get. Great job!
Hey Myke, u sure did take the correct approach right from the start, u saved a lot of extra work just by knowing how and where to start , for the amount of time spent, GREAT job,
Appreciate William. 👍
I'm Impressed nice work, you are a dent SAVANT. I had something similar needed to be done and the local PDR wouldn't touch it. Twentyfive years ago working in a Nissan dealer had a 300z hood pulverized from hail storm while on the transporter. This PDR guy shows up and said he could fix it. I didn't believe him, this hood looked like a disaster. He spent four hours ish and if I didn't see it I would not of believed it, PERFECT, could not tell.
How much was the cost?
WOW!! I wish you were in my part of Tennessee, Fantastic work, You are a real artist.
Amazing work!! Have a dent on my truck cab and watching this makes me have hope it’ll pop out. Looks great to me
Just awesome! Thanks for the video, and education. I have never seen these techniques before. Great job!
10% tools.... 90% skills....looks great!!👍🏼
That's a great job, thanks my friend! 👍
Must admit it turned out pretty awesome for it's severity. Great job!
Thank you.
Looks good and I'm sure you'r customer was very happy. From Quality Dent Repair AZ
impressive, thanks for posting, what is that ahesive for glueing the plastic pads,
As a body man it’s incredible what you did. The way you work the metal is insane. I’d love to be half as good as you.
Real talk....this guy is top of the food chain. Excellent work. The light tells the true story. It is way too good for the car lot.
Well done, very good result and no paint repair required, amazing really!!
Your eye is obviously better trained than mine; that looked great to me.
You did a good job impressive. Much respect !
Wow! That was a mess, what an amazing skill to get that looking so good. 👍🏻
I think you did great with the repair!
Really nice job considering the before situation and the final result. I'm thinking about study to become a PDR profissional.
very well done Sir, I'm sure the owner would have been very happy with your great work! cheers NZ
Awesome work, now I understood what is painless repair. I shall do your practice...
Thanks a ton that was a great video and no paint required.
Such a tough critic of your own work, perfect wasn't required to save this car! Great job!
I had a similar 'PUSH' in my left-passenger-door. I simply took the door off, removed the inside of the door, removed the plastic covering under that, and then carried the door to my living room, put it onto the carpet on the living room floor, took a 12" long length of 2x4, placed it so that the 2x4 was FLAT against the metal, and hit it with a large 'dead-blow' hammer. The wood transmitted the force of the hammer blows over a large area, pushing out the dent without causing too much more additional damage. sure it wasn't anywhere near 'normal' looking, but it was free, the car looked pretty good, and my car only lasted 5 more years before SEVERE RUST from road salt here in the North-West ate up the car too much to safely keep it on the road any longer.
Great video ....you are a champ for the great advice on using leverage to avoid injury.
Tough job, great tip about using the body to make force with the rod.... I'm a starter in PDR and my mind every job makes me believe that I can do a hundred percent back the original.... sometimes I felt a frustration to not get there.... I'm working to feel as the owner and not the professional but it's very difficult....
Great result Mike!
Thank you. And by the way, your feeling is positive. That’s the right emotion to a successful journey in PDR. Keep staying a perfectionist. 👊
That's incredible but I sure as hell never going to do this. I've been driving around with a large dent on the exact spot of my car and I think its time to take it to the shop. Thanks for the vid!
“Ok guys it’s not perfect by any means”
Meanwhile the car looks brand new lol
Exactly.. “Looks”. 😉
Jerry Lawrence looks better but all that orange peel that was created needs to be sanded and buffed.
Thats really an amazing bit of work. To think it was totally bent and twisted in and now it looks far better. The owner, if they like can now have a body shop sand and skim out the very minor imperfections without them having to cut out that panel. Yeah it really is fantastic work. Well done. 😉
No it doesn't look brand new for sure. But this is a very complex dent, and I'm surprised you didn't drill a hole in the other side of the panel to be able to work from two sides. This is for sure way above the head for most of the PDR technician.
@@denttime
True.. Bodyshop guys "feel" 👍
Parabéns
Ficou ótimo resultado
That takes a lot of patience for sure I've been practicing it's really hard I find a lot of the jobs I get though have either corrosion or something within the dent the paint broken from the crash pop out the dents best you can for sure and go from there I do a lot of painting still LOL I mainly work on Rust projects in Northern Ontario my buddy owns a dealership and ask me about popping dents so I've been practicing keep up the awesome work
Since I first saw this, our shop has purchased a Keco system. While I haven’t tried something this extreme with it, the stuff we (body men not dent guys) can straighten, block and maybe a little glaze, is unbelievable.
Relentlessly well done !
That there is what you call skill! I'm impressed!
Amazing talent. If there is any imperfections, it is not obvious.
100% improvement in my opinion. Seriously before & After. I would be a very satisfied client
Да конечно коряво всё)))
Mike you did my Merc S550 8 yrs ago turn out like nothing happen no scratches I salute you Bro your the master of them all Thank you Master
Awesome 👏 thank you 🙏
From one PDR brother to another...Dammit man!
I applaud your skill sir. That is absolutely amazing work.
Appreciate it 😉
Great job, dude !!! Very nice job !
wow, thank you so much for your lessons.
PDR guys, where do I get this puller? This type of repair is non existent in my part of the world... body filler, car about 2kg heavier after the "repair" ...
Hi Myke that's what I would term as commercially acceptable great job.
👊👍
Gracias, muy buena técnica, Saludos.
Hello Myke, great repair, in Poland I often have orders to repair similar damage sometimes I decide to repair such crushed "quarters". I know well how much time and patience to get though 80% requires it. Of course, it is often not perfect, but as my clients say: "I prefer it a thousand times than cutting a mudguard painting, and then the color is different, and often the item being repaired on the connections rusts!". Greetings from Poland.
Greetings back! Yes PDR takes tremendous patience. Especially at the end. Long as you give a 110% you shouldn’t feel guilty. All of us improve as long as we are giving the effort. Thanks for watching. Appreciate it. And continued success! 👊
I thought these guys were just some joe smoes with a suction cup, this a talent idk if its an artist or craftsman, but I'm seriously impressed and somewhat mesmerized when i watch these.
Very nice job! Speaking as an auto body and paint tech, any body shop would have replaced that panel. Even if its not 100%, its now an easy repair to make it so. Any time you don't have to cut, weld. and grind, you are making a better repair.
As an auto body tech, I always replace the qtrs when they’re hit like this. Seeing that with patience it can be done, the next one I get I’m going to attempt to push and pull as much as I can then use filler to save the qtr.
Sou do Brazil excelente performance!
This is an incredible skill ! i have done some minor door ding glue pulls and to tackle that large panel pull and to come out looking that good i give them a 10 out of 10 even though its not perfect its close enough... L.A Rob
Cool job, scientific, kinesiological approach.
Amazing skills there !
Awesome work.
Don't worry. Not bad. Your doing very well. Keep it up
Amazing work!
Doesnt this stretch the metal where it flex bck or at the end do u hit the panel with some cold when done to pull the metal structure bck tight.
Always killing it myke 🤙🏼
Thanks Jaime
Great job! At my job, i would've cut the old part out and weld a new piece on it.
Great job, much props....
amazing just amazing I thought you might get the dent out close enough to save the panel but still need plastic filler I just bought a glue dent puller now I hope I bought the right one
Good job on that dent Mike. It's hard to glass it if you cant work both ways. I'm sure the dealer was very happy.
Great work, thanks
Woow beautiful job!
Amazing job was done!!
Very skilled, nice work
Great work
Brilliant! Science and art together! 👍🏻😁
Great job. I am impressed.
you guys really killed it
wow amaaaaazing wouldnt have believeed great vid cheers
Una obra maestra, eso esta en un nivel superior.
Genuine question I have almost same dent like this. I have two options to get it repaired or replaced. Which one will be economical?
At least you didn’t leave a woodpecker inside like most PDR guys. Good job.
excellent work!
Very impressive great job well done
awesome job
Hi i do bodywork for like 30 years i have to say that looks real good id love to learn to fix dents like that.
Great Art!
Looks new to me. Nice job 👌
Super nice job
great work thumbs up
That's pretty damn impressive
Great info and video. Is this process good with trucks being built with aluminum, like the newer Ford trucks?
Yes we can fix aluminum it is a bit more of a challenge but indeed still repairable
I got a 2016 honda civic same damage on driver side got dented.. i undented most of it myself but i want to know what is the tool you use to suck it out ??
Difficult and beautiful work !!!
That Quarter 200 % change
That is actually good repair with out changing the quarter.
After that point it is OK to sand maybe a little bit metal finish and 2K prime and paint still less money and time.
God knows how much is that new quarter
