    I just purchased my plasma Blue 2020 Z900 and I absolutely love it! The engine sound is so addictive. So comfy and a lot of torque. Best bike I have ever owned. I upgraded from a Ninja 300; huge upgrade. I had the 300 for 5 years.

    Thank you so much for the honest and thorough review. I think you highlight all the positives that I have seen and heard about the bike. I appreciate that you don't just focus on the aesthetics or just the power. There is so much more to the bike. I, too, am looking at the Z900 for my 2nd bike, and I think it fits the bill. I am actually the opposite - I don't really care much about the technology, but what you say is true - better to have it and not need it. Again, thanks for the very clear and intelligent review!

    I bought mine 2 weeks ago, 1600km right now. Only minuses for me: seat, hitting exhaust sometimes with heel, no oem support for quickshifter (i know no dbw) and heated grips. Overall i love this thing. Amazed oem windshield works so well on higway up to 130kmh.

    • @TheBikeFather
      @TheBikeFather  Před 3 lety

      Awesome. Yes, thinking about it now, hitting the exhaust with the heel it's also a thing for me, in fact I can see a bit of melted "something" in there. Might be from my boot.

  • @chris_rides_kawasaki

    I bought this bike in green about a month ago. I'm still running it in currently which is annoying because it comes alive at 6k, which is the suggested maximum revs for the running in period. It's comfortable but after about 70 or 80 miles I need to get off for a few minutes as the seat is a little on the firm side... I love the sound. There's a few videos on CZcams with bikes that have been fitted with a full exhaust system, which removes the cat. Full systems aren't cheap though, which is why most just go for the end can
    Road mode is probably where I will leave it. Sport mode makes the throttle aggressive, great if you want to have a play, but tiring if you are on a longer ride or you are in built up areas for any length of time. Either way, I love this bike.

    • @TheBikeFather
      @TheBikeFather  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes, the breaking-in period is a pain in the ass. I'm sure you'll do those miles in no time.
      I agree with the seat. I took my seat to a local upholstery company and they made it more comfy. I've just installed my full scorpion system not long. It's not cheap, but hey.. I don't want to mess around with decat and stuff like that. Plus when you do that, you need to remap the ECU and all that, whilst with certain exhaust companies, Scorpion in this case, Ive been told by them that their exhaust, as long as I use both their slip-on and headers, are designed to work with the bike's default settings so no remap required.

    For my 2020 Z900 the Kawasaki Ergo-Fit Extended Reach Seat made all the difference in comfort and smoothing out the bumpy roads. My legs are also stretched out a bit more which is great for longer rides. FYI, I had a 2018 Z900 and bought the Kawasaki Ergo-Fit Extended Reach Seat for that one and kept it when I sold the bike. The seat I have on my 2020 now is for the 2018 model and it fits fine. So if you have a 2020 and up model and can't find the seat for that model, the 2018 model seat will fit.

    I'm currently 14 from the United States in Atlanta, I was born and raised in Atlanta. Ever since I was a child I wanted my own motorcycle and wanted to modify it. The Z900 is probably my favorite bike since 2017, I love everything about it. I really, REALLY, wanna modify the exhaust to the loudest one possible to make my neighbors 'happy' in the morning at 6am when I go to work lmfao and to let little kids rev it up at parking lots or on the street when I see them walking on the side walks or when I am going to the store and a kid is walking out the store, I overall wanna make a kid smile with happyiness to try and make their day better. I want a red and black Z900 with black tinted head and tail lights. I wanna add some nice thick whees too. The 2021 Z900 is so damn sexy, MMM MMM MMMMMMM, I just wanna rev it up and go 100mph on the highway and race other motorcycles. The person I race can be ride along buddy, he can drive next to me on the highway till on of us goes to our next exits, ya know? My bday is August 15th, I'm gonna ship this motorcycle when I move to Budapest, Hungary again to begin my career of being a dentist, I already know the fluent informal and formal language, are the boys wishing me good luck? It's all about style and preference. Speaking of MT-10, I actually like that you can ride that naked OR equip it for touring with taller windscreen and all that.. and it will still look good either way. i.e. chaseontwowheel's mt-10 looks amazing. However, you can't really do that with the Z900. It looks mean, aggressive when it's naked, but you have to be careful what mods you put on it, as not all of them will look good.

    Hi Alex, Regarding to stock seat - Seat will set after about 1.5k miles, this mean seat should become more softer, Just give more time. I am impressed that You fit on handlebar (phone holder or sat nav on left hand side) and cam and you didn't mention that there is no really enough space.
    The other thing which maybe you don't know but I have noticed is that the looking for parts for Z900 is a bit mess, when you start looking for something on web you will be confused - for example Z900 models 17-19 exhausts not fit to 2020+ and US version 2020+ aswell is different with exhaust ( when you try purchase via alixpress or amazo ) also mix parts for Z900RS parts not fit to normal model. Just be aware when searching and purchasing correct parts which should be exactly designed for model and year and version.

    • @lovelessissimo
      @lovelessissimo Před rokem

      @Gianni you still shift, but just with your foot. The quickshifter cuts engine power for 60 milliseconds, unloading the engine load on the clutch. Basically a clutchless upshift, but perfectly done every time. You can still use the clutch if you want to. I installed a quickshifter on my Z, but I still shift normal from 1st to 2nd, and also at lower rpm. The quickshifter is most useful when you are revving it high and trying to shift fast. This is also only for upshifts. You still have to throttle blip to downshift.

    • @TheBikeFather
      @TheBikeFather  Před 2 lety

      Probably not. You definitely need a more comfy seat. And you would also need something taller to help with the legs position. Well.. You could. You could tour on anythng these days. But it depends how much. If you're looking for a touring bike, i would look elsewhere. If you you're looking for a street bike, with the occasional once a year touring trip, yes it's definitely doable.
