You're welcome and cool, I look forward to them. The 1st date ones are very cool but please tell me, if you don't require a 2nd date, is that a good or bad thing. The Z900 for example. Thanks
That's a good question regarding 2nd dates. A bike might not get a 2nd date for a number of reasons... They might not excite or intrigue me too much or be suitable for my type of riding. Or perhaps a bike is quite similar to other bikes I've ridden but have no unique attributes that make me want to sample them again. Or they are just plain crap! But I haven't had a crap one yet 😀 The Z900 is a decent bike, but having ridden quite a few large capacity inline 4 cylinder bikes, this one just didn't really "float my boat"!
Lovely riding country round your way - don't ruin the environment by playing about with the economy light on the dash haha! Like others I think the picture quality is fantastic as is the sound. Commentary is spot on - just enough to allow the bike to do some talking as well! This model is probably not for me but keep the reviews coming!
Even the ZH2 has one of those economy indicators - I had to laugh! Thank you for your kind words 😊 I try to get the engine/exhaust note in there because that's what I want to hear when I watch bike reviews myself! It's taken a lot of work to get the picture & sound quality to where I like it and hopefully it'll keep getting better.
Hi Ricky, I enjoy your videos and perspectives. Have you had a chance to test the 2023 Street Triple RS? I've love to hear what you think about it. Cheers - Jim

Hi Rikky, first of all I'd like to say I'm enjoying your reviews :) It's nice to see all the most important things are covered and your videos are well put together (love the indexing, saves me some time finding the bits I need). I was hoping you'd have some wise words for me! I'm looking to buy a new bike. My current ride is a GSR600 which is nice regarding the comfort, seating position and high RPM kick. The big downsides are that it is definitely missing some power/torque at low RPM (actually until about 9000rpm!) and it can feel a bit heavy at times. On top of my list for a new bike are the Z900 and GSX-S750. As you've ridden both, how would you compare the two bikes? What type of rider would you recommend what bike?
Hello Roelio, thanks for watching and for subscribing! When I think about the GSXS750 and Z900, I think that the Z900 is more grown up and serious, the 750 is a bit more fun 🙂 Obviously the 900 is faster and had more technology, and I won't lie I would normally be drawn to the faster bike, but I have to say that out of the two, I enjoyed riding the 750 a bit more. Because of the smaller engine you can use more of the performance before you start to go too fast! If you really like technology and want to go fast then the 900 would be the choice, but I think the 750 would actually be a good upgrade from your GSR. I hope that helps a bit 🙂
@@RikkyTang I missed some excitement in the ride. The handling was great, but I never had that wow moment. I ended up buying a 2017 Street Triple RS today!
@@RoelvLeeuwen Thanks for coming back to me 😊 The Street Triple RS is one heck of a step up from your 600, you must be super excited! Ride safe but have a great time 👍

Ummmm, watch my Z900RS and RS Cafe reviews. I would take the RS models on a second date, so you got that assumption wrong. This bike just left me a bit cold.
Hey Rikky .. nice vid thanks, wanted your opinion as you drove the z900 .. want to go back to bike at 46 yo and 245 pounds (had motocross and honda 250 when younger) is the z900 too much or should I stick to a z650 ? (not looking for speed at my age and kids) but look at something ill keep a while. would you think that the seat and comfort could be good enough for 3 to 4 hrs trips ? .. thanks for your info
Hi Joel, well if you were a new motorcyclist at 46 years then I would suggest the 650 would be the best way to go, but if you have experience of motocross bikes then you have some decent prior experience to fall back on. Bear in mind that the 900 can accelerate damn fast... as long as you play it sensibly in the curves then you should have no trouble with the 900. Make sure you buy the best protective gear you can afford too! The bike should be comfortable for longer rides but the wind blast would get tiring at higher speeds on highways, especially if you aren't used to it. Good luck man!
The low power mode has the same power as the z650, but with the added benefit of having the option of more power later if you like. (It also sounds a thousand times better)
Just to add some words to your review. Everything about new Z900 is very progressive and non intimidating. You can make it rip hard but you need to be very deliberate about it and no surprises. Its one of the cheapest streetbikes on the market for the power output. Kawa put the cost where it was needed the most. Just enough electronic help with engine mapping and 3 stage traction control. Its not a track weapon but suspension, chassi and engine just does everything well for the street. And the 17 liter tank will last more then +300km.
Rikky, why not put her into "sport mode" before you decide if you would like a second date? 😁 Also that throttle issue you reported, just might have needed some fine tuning on the cable to eliminate the slack, particularly because it's a new bike. Anyway, fun ride. Thank you!
Hi, thanks for your comment! I could have tried Sport mode but on this bike it only changes the throttle response - it doesn't add any more power. Since it was already a little snatchy I didn't want the throttle to be any more sensitive! 😂 P.S. well this is embarassing... I was just re-watching the video and I had actually used Sport at least once! 17:50
Hi there, the suspension felt fairly firm to me at higher speeds but not too firm or uncomfortable. At slow speeds I thought it dealt with bumps well. But what's good for me might not be good for you so I'd recommend a test ride 👍
I had a whole long reply written out for you until I realised you asked about the STREET Triple RS... I've ridden the Speed Triple RS but not the Street (or really looked at one close up) so I can't comment sorry!
Hey! I have a new z900 too. I have noticed a slight, single click sound everytime I start to accelerate on my kawa z900. It sounds like a relais-click and appears from gear 2-6, just at the beginning when I turn the gas tap, with another click when I release it.... seems to appear only when the bike is warm or the sun is quite heavy. Do you have this click too?
Hi there, I'm sorry but I only had the bike for a review - I rode it for maybe three hours tops. I don't remember any clicking sounds when accelerating. But if the sounds seem to be coming from the instrument area it looks like other people have had the same issue at this link (and its maybe related to the assist/slipper clutch and possibly nothing to worry about) www.z900forum.com/index.php/topic,1361.0.html?PHPSESSID=36a788509d424822ccbc10d30b42fccf

Bar risers are an option but you would need to be certain that all your cables and hoses are not pulled tight when you turn the steering full lock. If you are interested in buying a Z900 from that salesman, ask him to recommend a set of risers that are guaranteed not to cause a problem with the steering.

@@RikkyTang Hey, sorry to bother you again, how does the throttle compare with street triple RS and MT-09. Can you please rate the best and worst out of these three bikes (in terms of throttle smoothness)?
@@Talk2cerlin Hi there it's no problem 😊 I have to tell you that I have not ridden the Street Triple RS and I only had a very quick ride (less than ten minutes) on an original model MT09 back in 2016 so I cannot compare these models to the Z900 I'm sorry to tell you.
To compare the two directly I would say that in my opinion the Z900 is a decent bike to ride but compared to the R1250R it is not very exciting. The extra torque of the R1250R means it's easier to build speed quickly in almost any gear. The R1250R is has more sophisticated electronics and smart phone connectivity (if you buy a Sport, Exclusive or SE) and a better instrument display. But it is also a lot more expensive and is quite a lot heavier too which is felt when you are pushing the bike around with the engine off. Out the two bikes I would prefer the BMW 😊
The seat height is 795 mm.. I’ m 168 cm, and I have no prob with rideing this beast. Lovly bike. Driven 54.500 km on my Z 900, 2017 mod ( ABS ) No problem with the bike so far, but than again, it’s a Kawasaki
No problem - 220 kilos is 6538 ants noses, or 0.74 of a whales thigh. Did I really say 220? I'll have to recheck the video because it's actually 212kg which if you've ever heard of pounds is 467 (update - I say 212 early in the video)
Its 2021, the 2020 model has been out over a year and the Z900 several years. How is this a first impression review? Your impression does not justify my reality. I own the 2020 Plasma Blue (USA Model) and love this bike. Low end torque, can pull away in every speed without downshifting and is buttery smooth in acceleration and ride. Of course there's also the fact I drive responsibly and don't race on public roads like an idiot with no regards to others.
Wait a minute. You liked the bike but see no need for a 2nd ride. So the date went well but you just aren't interested in seeing her again? How about telling us wots wot before we spend 10 grand to marry her?
I had a good time on the bike but I don't feel the need to ride it again... that's all there is to it. I've ridden lots of bikes over the years and I don't think personally that this one has a lot more to offer me, even though she didn't do anything wrong. I also say in the video how I can see how this bike could be interesting to a lot of different riders - just because I don't feel the need to take the bike out a second time, it doesn't mean that this bike wouldn't be the best thing since slice bread to someone else. We're all different after all, coming from different backgrounds and have different riding experiences. Hopefully a video like mine will make a up a small part of your overall research into your next bike and you take all those different opinions on board before you take your next step, be it just visiting the showroom or taking a test ride yourself.
@@fyorbane EDIT!! OOPS my mistake, this is not the Performance model after all... The throttle uses cables up until the cables reach the throttle body. You can see the cables here at 0:38 czcams.com/video/63PgbHu6Bc0/video.html In the video I was talking about the feel of the throttle itself - it feels "traditional" because of the use of throttle cables at the handlebar.

@@Talk2cerlin Cool, I hope you enjoy the ride! 👍
How do you compare this bike with the BMW r1250r? Thank you
To compare the two directly I would say that in my opinion the Z900 is a decent bike to ride but compared to the R1250R it is not very exciting.
@@RikkyTang Thank you very much for your valuable insight.
Strange comparison.
A sweet bike. Pretty much checks all the boxes, including price relative to its competition.👀🤔🥸
Can someone at 5.5 to 5.6 ft ride this beast? The stock seat height at 82mm or at least the lower at 80mm?
I think if your inside leg measurement is about 30" you should be OK at the standard seat height. If closer to 28" than you might need a lower option.
The seat height is 795 mm.. I’ m 168 cm, and I have no prob with rideing this beast. Lovly bike. Driven 54.500 km on my Z 900, 2017 mod ( ABS ) No problem with the bike so far, but than again, it’s a Kawasaki
"The weight is a bit over 220 kilos"??? Not idea what that is. Could you give us that weight in something normal, like hogsheads or bushels?
No problem - 220 kilos is 6538 ants noses, or 0.74 of a whales thigh. Did I really say 220? I'll have to recheck the video because it's actually 212kg which if you've ever heard of pounds is 467 (update - I say 212 early in the video)
@@RikkyTang So that's like 1/132,156ths Rhode Islands! Got it! Thanks so much for your help!
@@micheal49 I knew once I simplified it you'd get there 👍
@@RikkyTang And I very much appreciate your time, patience, and assistance. Mucho obleeged.
Hmmm? An American rears his ethnocentric head. 2.2 pounds per kilogram Einstein. If you can whine on the internet you can Google lbs/kilos conversion.

You're too kind
Its 2021, the 2020 model has been out over a year and the Z900 several years. How is this a first impression review? Your impression does not justify my reality. I own the 2020 Plasma Blue (USA Model) and love this bike. Low end torque, can pull away in every speed without downshifting and is buttery smooth in acceleration and ride. Of course there's also the fact I drive responsibly and don't race on public roads like an idiot with no regards to others.
What price are they
Price starts at £8899 in the UK
What is your seat height?
Do you my leg measurement? My leg measurement is 32" in trousers. The seat height of the Z900 is 820mm (32.28")
Wow it looks like zh2
You say the bike feels tight or close yet the bars are rolled towards you rather than rolled forwards........
The bars are in their standard position; sorry I think I'm not understanding what you are trying to tell me.
Z900 is not 10 grand. It's under 9 grand.
@@fyorbane EDIT!! OOPS my mistake, this is not the Performance model after all... I got confused with the Kawasaki website still showing the 2019 models so yeah, this is up at £8899 and I apologise @Boz for thinking that you'd got it wrong.
Original comment below...
This model is the 2020 Z900 Performance, so to be fair this model retails at £9749 on the Kawasaki UK website. Standard model is indeed under £9k at £8899
Qnyone that carn"t get a bike vertical of a side stand should maybe think about a push bike 😝 Thinking your maybe not a big fan of Kawasaki ? just your comments and the lack of excitement🤸 Maybe twist its nuts more🤣 it may give you a lift lol😝
Look at my rides on the ZH2, I moan even more about getting the bike off the sidestand 😂
This new model has an eletronic throttle, its not cable
The throttle uses cables up until the cables reach the throttle body. You can see the cables here at 0:38 czcams.com/video/63PgbHu6Bc0/video.html
In the video I was talking about the feel of the throttle itself - it feels "traditional" because of the use of throttle cables at the handlebar.
Second date ? maybe you should have given it some throttle ! all this shite about blippers and quick shitters 😭🤣 we are not on a race track ! fuck the crutch on up shifts just as quick , unless you need the Bog 😝🤸
I married her this month.
£100 deposit on pcp deal what a bargain
Good Vibrations.
It's kilograms not kilos, why do the English keep making this mistake?
I know that kilo means "one thousand" and is not by itself a unit of weight but I'm just shortening the word kilogram; it's a pretty common thing to do in the English language 👍
@@RikkyTang Do you say kilo instead of kilometer too or kilo instead of kilowatt?
@@leonardmcdermott7703 I say in the video "the riding weight of this bike is 212 kilos". Context matters.
@@RikkyTang Ex teacher so i hear the abbreviations, either way a nice review now try out the ZH2 for comparison 👍😁👍
@@leonardmcdermott7703 I have ridden the ZH2 recently - twice in fact 🚀🚀😀 Videos are in the pipeline!
Looking at those tires, you didn't lean it the way this bike can. This is perfect bike for twisties and that's the reason, we ride bikes. So this test ride of yours is no good
I watched your test of the Lego Crawler vs Formula Off-Roader but it wasn't off road, it was on a rug in your house so the test was also no good 😉
What a bunch of whinging lames in your comments. “Oh let’s crack open the OED (Oxford English Dictionary) and pick apart a motorcycle review...” I liked your review. Relaxed.
Cheers Johnathan! 👍
