For the tall riders, i bought the Z900 2021, The normal seat on it is good and comfy. You won't have any comfort issues on it.
The guy who sold me the bike asked my if i wanted a higher seat option and i set it wasn't necissary since i felt comfy.
He had a demo with the higher seat option and i tried it out and i went from comfy to 100% perfect. My knees perfectly hugged the sides of the bike. It's literally perfect and only 160€ increase. So yeah the Z900 is great for tall riders. (I am 6.5 ft aka 196cm)

I dunno, I really like up/down quickshifters and cruise control. This 2020 Z900 doesn't have those, but the 2020 Ninja 1000SX does. You also get a cool lean angle indicator that can track your max lean angle in each direction for a ride. That stuff's cool.

I have a 2021 Z-900 and I have loved it since the start. The seat is uncomfortable but use a gel pad on it. Smooth, reliable, and mature naked bike. I put some Pirelli Angel GT touring tires on it and they work really nice especially in often wet conditions on the East Coast here. I am trying to find some criticism on it but really I am very happy with it. Also, I am 5'11" so I am bit on the taller side but a gel seat pad makes it a better fit.

  • @pierrebroccoli.9396

Throttle snatchiness most likely is from air inlet restriction under certain throttle conditions which are part of the EURO regs for trying to hush bikes up. Doesn't take much to deal with and loosing some weight by swapping out the exhaust with a muffler and link pipe will help a lot too. Probably want to get a ECU remap though.
If it has ride by wire throttle then one can always fit an aftermarket up/down quick shifter if that is your thing.
Main thing that is important is the Engine and Chasis - if they are good, the rest can be modified around it.

Dream of a bike is the street triple rs , but I guess it’s just too expensive and quick?

I have a Z400 and I would really like to try a different bike for my next one but the Z900 always comes out on top in terms of reliability, performance, and price so it would be stupid of me not to get one. I hope it's taller than my Z400 because my biggest gripe with the bike is that my knees get sore from being folded on rides that last longer than 90 minutes and the Z900 looks like it has the same ergonomics. I just can't bring myself to spend more money on a Street Triple or 790/890 Duke when the Z900 always comes out on top in the comparisons.

      Some Guy no.
Mt09 if you want a bike thats CONSTANTLY trying to kill you. 👍🏿 doesnt handle as well, doesnt stop as well, has a maniac throttle, 3 useless engine management settings (seriously they do fuck all), a weird arse seating position and a unsettling ride.
Or you can get a Z900. Goes harder, handles better, stops better, throttle that isnt a psychopath, seat height that meakes it easier to get on and off, a tank size that translates to nearly 100kms extra range and its better looking.
      For the same money.
Oh and the Z900 looks about a 4k more expensive bike up close. The mt looks cheap.
Yep just went through the process. And i had a yamaha to trade in (not an mt, but still).
Id even rather the suzy GSXS750 (actually apples with apples the 1000, but i didnt want to spend the extra cash on the big one - i basically got a litre bike anyway at 948cc) than the MT but the seat heights a deal breaker on both yam and suzy anyway.

@@sugarnads All motorcycles are poorly built. Why? What can you actually do as a corporation with 8-9 thousand dollars and still make a margin on sales? You gotta cut pennies and dollars cost SOMEWHERE.
I owned a Z900 in 2017. Traded for an MT-09 in 2018. Still have the Yamaha. Many frustrating things about it, but the engine is one of the truly good things Yamaha has done in the last 6 years. It's going to take a few grand to "fix" the bike the way I want it, but honestly, the Z900 also needed fork cartridges, rear shock, full suite of power de-restriction (exhaust, filter, ECU). Both Yamaha and Kawasaki come with horrible stock tires (adequate, but numb). Both could use help in the brakes department (pads, lines) but the Yamaha comes with radials, Kawasaki with Z800 parts (axial mounts). Kawasaki feels more stable, confident from factory, give the ergonomics a bit more streetfighter stance rather than motard stance. Yamaha INTENDED that position as the bike was defined as "roadster-motard" from the project designers.
I like the styling and function upgrades to the Z900. Verdict is out whether it got ride-by-wire from the former cable throttle. The throttle behavior was nearly perfect in 2017. New Euro5 and traction control probably made it worse. TFT is nice (bluetooth stuff is stupid), LED headlight looks 3x better than before and might actually be useful at night, seat got some actual padding and increases legroom as it used to be very cramped.
Frankly, what do people expect from 8000-9000 dollar price range on a 125 hp motorcycle? Perfection? Perfect paint, hardware, switchgear, tires, brakes, premium fit/finish, full electronics suite, cruise? Good luck. That's reserved for 19,000 dollar R1M which isn't anywhere near as usable nor comfortable or practical.
I'm interested in the Duke 890R coming. Sounds like a truly no-compromise machine in the lightweight mid-power category. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
I'm also interested in the updated Ninja 1000SX. Cruise, quickshifter, ride-by-wire, LED everything, suspension tweaks, camshaft tweaks, seating tweaks, and probably the most loaded best all-rounder in a sport/touring class sub-13-grand price in the world.

I’ve got genuine accessory Kawasaki heated grips on my 2018 Z900RS, and I don’t see why they wouldn’t fit the Z900, after all the platforms are near identical.
Agree about an up/down quickshifter, after riding a S1000RR I wouldn’t buy a sport bike without one. Still, they’ve got to build the bike to a price so I guess that explains it. Also, to have an auto-blipper for quickshifter downshifts, I think the bike needs to have an electronic throttle (ride by wire).

Rode them both pretty much back to back from a dealer. In all honesty I found the Z900 more fun. It pulls better from low down and in the mid-range. The Honda is faster at the top as so it should be with 143hp available compared to 123hp for the Z900. I also preferred the steering response and overall handling of the Kawasaki. Both are the same weight but they both feel nice and flickable on the move. Both are great bikes and there no losers if you choose one over the other. The 2020 Z900 has a lovely full colour TFT dash whilst the Honda has a LCD dash but is still rather nice to look at. 1k euros is quite a difference in price while in the UK the Honda is far more expensive [about 3k £] so a no brainer for me . The Z900 is much better value for money

Really like the changes made, especially to the headlight/signals. That terrible instrument display it had has been eliminated for a better TFT. Nice. Also looks like the seat got some actual thickness and padding. The thing I had was a slab of plywood practically, with cramped leg space.
