That is soooo cool, it reminds me of my Hoover Portable and also the avocado reminds me of the bathroom suite we had in the 80’s. Shame it’s in such a state, shame you had to send it back, but can’t wait to see what you got 🥰
The condition of those older vacuums is quite a gamble when you buy it from any seller online. For me, whenever I buy something that old, I expect something to be fixed (I had a similar thing happen to me when I bought an old brown Filter Queen D31x). That thing definitely could use a massive refurbishment, and frankly parts for those are not easy to find.
I had thought that I had covered all my bases with all the questions I asked before bidding on it. The seller just kept replying (Nope) no problems at all. I do agree that with something of this age it’s not going to be perfect but this was beyond what I was expecting. If it was at a cheaper price and the seller had been honest about the problems I may have kept it and did a complete overhaul but not at the price I paid.
I did return it in the same box but I did pack it well. I didn’t want the seller to say it was shipped and broke. lol 😂. I did get EBay involved and they did get my money back. TG.
God Bunky The seller had nerve even selling that piece of junk, They should of just thrown it in the garbage where it belonged in the first place!!! I had a similar incident with a vacuum from E-bay last year, I purchased a black Hoover Dimension 1000 canister vacuum that was suppose to be in excellent working condition for $175.00 and the pictures looked great and all but they used bright lighting to make it look nice and shiny... Well when I opened the box my jaw dropped, not only was it so beat up, it didn't even work when I plug it in and I tried everything to get it working and nothing!!! So I got in touch with the seller and asked him what kind of vacuum did he sell me??? This looks nothing like the pictures in the Ad and it doesn't even work and I want to return this for a full refund!!! The guy told me that it wasn't worth him paying for the return shipping and to just throw it out and he will refund my money and he did!!! Boy some of these sellers will say anything just to sell their junk, But at least we have e-bay on our side to make things right when there is a problem right??? I stopped eBay buying years ago. It’s sad because it ruins it for the good sellers, which was becoming more difficult to find. I’m on eBay since 1997.
I think I’m right there with you. Things are getting very expensive and what you get normally isn’t what you think you’re going to get.
