New Homes for Anstie, Smith, Brown, Robertson, and More | 250 Silly Season - Big Changes

- The 2025 250 class transfer market, or Silly Season, has been a topic of discussion within our staff as we've awaited news and rumors. Over half of the factory-level riders in this class didn't have contracts that extended beyond 2024, meaning there was the possibility of some interesting or even aggressive moves by riders and teams alike. The past few weeks have been quiet but suddenly a handful of deals were handled and locked in over the past two-to-three weeks, with another chunk being close to done or in-process as we speak. With this, it's finally time to dive in and talk about what is confirmed, who's going where, what could happen, and what we think will happen. There's a lot of movement here and many of your favorite riders could be on a different brand and color machine come 2025. Particularly in the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, and Triumph Factory Racing paddocks...as these three teams are being quite aggressive as they lock in and go after new riders for the upcoming season. Dive in, listen, learn, then give us your feedback. Shock? Surprise? Makes sense? Let us know, this is the best time of the year!

What's the biggest surprise in this video? 👀
The fact you completely forgot RedBull KTM
Beaumer and vialle
@@stuartkeenan3204 There was a section cut from the video, Red Bull KTM has little movement outside of the potential inclusion of Lucas Coenen, but very early stage rumor there.
@@vitalmx Fair enough, but thought you might include them for continuity seeing as they are a factory team, even if there is nothing to report.
@@stuartkeenan3204 Should've been in there, just a small editing mistake on my part - ML
Good for ansite to get 2 year deal with star he will be faster on that❤✊️✊️✊️
Stoked for anstie he deserves a good ride and complete team supporting him. 🔥
Jordon Smith would sign with STACYC Electric Bikes to get away from Haiden Deegan.
Why are u bringing up deegan ? Clean your mouth
😂😂
Probably the stupidest comment I have heard ever in my life EVER. wait.......EVER
@@soxh8terTruth hurts😮
Man, so would I. Those bikes are awesome.
... and Deegan sucks.
Triumph is Jordan’s only way to a 450 ride smart move on his end
Jo Smith will be triumphant on the Scottish beast! English?! Is it SAE or metric ... not british~
Smart on Smith end dumb on any factory team. Especially 450 maybe he can crack a top 10 in a moto bit dough it
I cant wait to see Jordan on a Triumph. I bet he hauls on it. Jalek has looked damn good
Nah he’s got options it’s about the money
Both classes are getting stacked by the younger / newer group coming in. Factory teams have options now. Especially the 450 class.
Stoked for Pierce. I hope he does well!
I called Antsie going to Star months ago when his bike blew up. He has the speed but he needs a better bike. I had a feeling Star would go get him. Stoked for Max
Love Max but he is to nice. Needs to get tougher if he wants a title
@@125kingo125 I don't disagree at all
I’m thinking PC retains their current lineup. I can’t see Mitch letting Austin go and Max started out well and deserves another shot 🤘🤘
Mitch can't let austin go, because he has a guaranteed contract as long he is in 250's
Great video. I would love to hear you go into more detail on the coaches, managers, and trainers at each team and how you think the team personalities and style might hurt or help in these moves. Thank you!
Great coverage sir. Thank you from Michigan..
Nice video ML, would be interesting to see if marchbanks goes back to PC since it was meant to be a ugly sort of end there years ago, I'd hope forkner stays there aswell as vohland aswell. Feel like maximus was showing some great promise before his hip injury.. maybe you could take over the fire-power team hahahaha
Great breakdown, thanks ML
Grew up racing against Reynolds’s that kid has crazy talent just let him cook!
good show Mr.
Thanks i enjoy these.
Love the breakdown with all the teams, hopefully Anstie and Marchbanks get on factory teams, nothing against club or firepower but I feel factory teams are better, Robertson going to Triumph would make sense similar to Swoll
Thank you ML I like Austin F ,,id be disappointed if he didnt get the plate for Mitch as a tank you hopefully 2 in a row
I would imagine Honda would go after the Coenen twins. Same manager as the Lawrence's. 2 Brothers in each class!!! Come on. Marketing dream for Honda. ❤🇬🇧
If I’m Ducati I’m throwing the bag at them, I believe both parties are coming to the states in 26 right?
Not sure if Honda is but the coenen twins coming in 2026! Both confirmed it already.
Ktm groups have had their back since a couple of yrs back, if/when Lucas or both go to us I believe they both will stay of Ktm l group brand maybe not both on the same but for sure Ktm based bikes
Max anstie would be a good fit for any team despite is age cool calm head despite is excitable nature
Uncle Unstie can babysit Deegan!
Great Video !!!
Cant believe Star let Smith go, lucky Triumph I guess. Nice review, thank you!
Luke Davies? Don't you mean Cole Davies
Yes, I meant Cole Davies.
Would be good to see Cole at HRC with the Lawrences or at Star or PC. Maybe im tripping but those bikes seem way faster.
Star signed towers instead of Cole Davis. Josh coppins was talking about it on a pod cast.
I think if AF comes back at all next year, he needs a totally fresh start. New team, new trainer, etc. I'm thinking a KTM (or husky, gasgas) at the baker's factory and basically tear him down and build him back up kind of thing.
AF on austrian? Ya no
@@johnwilkes8847 If not Austrian, then star, he needs a full reboot, he can't keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result. The PC team has become a death cult.
@@noControl556agreed 👍 ❤🇬🇧
The transition to a steel more flexible frame of an Austrian brand from a stiff aluminum frame of Kawasaki will not give Forkner any positive results it takes at least one consistent solid season to feel comfortable on it. Sexton is nowhere near what he was last year and the same can be said for Aaron Plessinger. It took him a while to get acclimated to really come up to his normal pace.
He stopped training with Robbie Reynard who had been his on the bike trainer since he turned pro full time in 2017, and has been training with Ryno to work on technique and control i think is what he said when he made the switch last year. Since he's been with him I wasn't seeing the old Forkner who looked like he was always riding on the edge teetering between being in control and out of control, and I think Ryno has helped him a lot and he doesn't need to shake that up for Aldon Baker who is more of a conditioning get your fitness up type of trainer rather than a technique on the bike coach since he comes from cycling. He does need to absolutely leave PC though to get a change of scenery. He went with PC Kawi over Honda who offered more money when he was deciding who to sign and go pro with after he stayed with Mitch and hit it off with his twins. They both have a soft spot for each other lmao
Max on PC I think would be a great addition and could potentially make him a champion in the lites class!! Yea he is older than most players in the class but he’s got the speed and skill!!
Coenen vs Deegan in outdoors would be sick!
And tomac will be racing a Sur Ron at the outdoor national
Suzuki should pick up Jordan Smith and put him on a 450 with Kenny. Also a good opportunity for Vohland and the young Adams on a 250. These guys would give Suzuki a strong team vs. Yamaha, Kaw, Honda, KTM and Husk.
Suzuki doesn’t have a team. HEP is a private team
lmfao
HEP can't afford to build and race another 3 bikes equal to Kenny's. I say 3 bikes because they require at very basic, a race bike$$$, a practice bike$$ and a parts bike. That's not even counting factory suspension support. If you see the HEP trailer at the races, You will notice Kenny is in his own sort of area. mind you he does bring his own sponsor into the team being progressive insurance. but it's been set in interviews but they're doing all they can to provide everything they can that Kenny needs. I imagine they are stressed out as is. Don't get me wrong. Kenny deserves every bit of it. hopefully he sticks with them for a while
Drew Adams is a long time team green then factory kawai guy, he's not going anywhere
Suzuki’s Contingency program sucks now.. if this was 2001-2006 you could’ve put a decent program together on Suzuki bucks if you made the main all 17 rounds
I used to not be able to stand this guy but he has grown on me a bit.
Heard it marchbanks is confirmed for sure.
I love all the changes, except for brown going to Yamaha. I don’t see him and Haiden meshing on the practice track. Wouldn’t doubt nor blame Deegan if he decided to go the Tomac route. Build your own tracks at home to avoid unnecessary injuries and distractions.
Guess I spoke too soon 🤦🏼♂️ Max Ansti going to Star Yamaha is awesome and even though he’s older than most of his class I believe he’s a title contender especially on the proven Yamaha 250 and I doubt they will put him in the same division as the Deegan kid or maybe they do? But I think it’s a good move for both parties
where enzo could land if he does not stay at star? i could definitely see him either at mcr or firepower since he only does sx... maybe barx? idk! would love to see him stay at star though!
Mathes was saying Enzo getting a shot with Star next year.
Are Vialle and Beaumer locked in through next year?
Beaumer yes, Vialle’s contract is up this year but he’s going to sign an extension.
If their doing a good job? Great!! If the folks see further or future potential, GREAT!! These guys are already the best of the best. Some guys may just need time to put together under pressure!! Obviously, their speed and hopeful attitude to learn and be coached is there too! Just my opinion 🤷
Hymas better do something special in outdoor MX this year, can't see Honda keeping him for 2025 if he doesn't.
He has done nothing since he turned pro , injures and average performances ,he needs to do really well outdoors I agree.
no one really expected him to excel with the track record he has. that was a gracious chance given by HRC but it wont last much longer.
He fades badly. Sad because he is a solid racer up to the point he plummets.
Really hope Lopez get his arm fixed and gets a proper shot at a factory team
Sim ele fez uma cirurgia no braço que todos da Star fizeram, mas com ele houve problema- Português
@@zeduardo2794 Mais ainda nao fico bom? Tomara ele poda se melhorar y correr no proximo ano!
Surprised hrc didn't pick up anstie and chance going to star.
Cole Davies is the Kiwi rider I believe...
Yes, Cole. Wrong first name. - ML
Cole Davies lets gooooooooooo
Blake Bagget is riding a rockstar husky..... any word on this???
He is retired. He's friendly with a husky team and they let him ride a bike. It's been covered at nauseam.
Check our video on that subject from last month. - ML
Im sure that Forkner was actually promised a 450 ride with Mitch. With Adam retiring maybe he could pick that up.
I think Prado is taking AC’s ride for 2025. If Levi wins the ship, he’ll move up in 2026 to take Andersons seat.
Prado and potentially Tomac would take those spots for ‘25
Love Lewis 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Drew Adams will run the show one day
He will out grow the bike an be to big for it in a few years
I heard Adam’s is coming to race the Canadian Championship with partzilla
Would love to see Enzo on PC as long as he can avoid having his arms amputated
I'd love to see Forkner at Rockstar! He needs a fresh start and Pro Circuit has been a unlucky disaster every year for him.
Pierce brown is super consistent.
I love your accent.
What accent? - ML
I was really hoping that with all the hype from Triumph, they would swung for the fences in they debut year. The performance this year was lacking. If the rumors are true next year will be a great opportunity for them with a 4 man team.
I don't think anyone with a chance would go to a new team with an experimental bike and program. If they can prove they can win then they'll be able to recruit talent.
poor Nick. I hope he gets a ride!
Pumped for anstie.
Right!?
Gage Linville needs a good ride...
And what ever happened with that Gonzalez kid? He was fast!
Mason Gonzles had a career-ending injury.
@@vitalmx Awe no! Thats sad. Thanks for letting me know.
You are late on the video. Marchbanks is at Pro circuit. Drew Adams is in Canada for the summer. Forkner will be at Pro circuit on a one-year deal
According to ClubMX, Garrett isn’t able to sign a contract with any team until a certain date has passed (which hasn’t) in his current contract. They still have first right of refusal and are awaiting to see what other offers he receives.
Drew Adams to Canada has been known for a while and it’s just the first three rounds right now, he still is doing LL down here.
Any news on Jorge Prado? Is he coming over next year? Star Racing Factory Yamaha is stacked for next year with the top fastest 250 riders
I heard he’s comin to PC

Yea, good move on kawasaki's part if they axe Volland after another injury. Would be silly to keep continuously signing a rider over and over and over and over..... And over... Again after they get hurt for the "n"th time.
They keep forkner and mcadoo around….
Everyone gets up Hampshire for still riding 250 even though Smith still rides 250’s and is older then Hampshire. It’s just because he rides for star it goes unnoticed
Yoooooshameerraaaa!
Austin needs to go to Triumph, one more go at 250 and win them their/him his first championship, and move up to 450.
Why does it feel a lot like Austin will win a championship for pc then move up to factory kawi and do some yrs just like Adam?
What about Ty Masterpool? Nothing on him?
Nope.
This was just a 250 ordeal. But it sure would be nice to see him on a team. Dude rips
I hope max anstie gets a decent ride for sure but I’m a English man call me biased but max deserves some sort of better backing FR
I bought forgot about Maximus
I heard Beta is going to have a 250 class in 2025
Not for 2025.
I think Star and PC are sick of riders getting injured!
“We all know your a great bloke but I want results”
“Has speed but has never made it through a full season”
After watching Jett take everything for two years in the 250’s they will be expecting championships!
McAdoo was close to doing a good season then I’m sorry, but a super dumb mistake to hit a rider while doing a slow lap, must have Mitch crying in his sleep! And I like McAdoo!!!!
Where is even ferry going to go to?
Evan said a few weeks ago on pulp mx that he doesn't have any offers on the table.
At this point he’ll probably have to go privateer or privateer team, unless there was a behind the scenes issue leaving Triumph was a terrible move
He’s going to fire power 😂 or club buddy is bad
What has ferry got to offer? His father's past ,and that's about it .
So no Kay De Wolf or the Coenen twins coming over? I was expecting Mx2 riders coming over with the 9 whoops & no dragons backs supercross tracks now.
Coenens are a maybe for 2025 but more likely 2026. Same with de Wolf.
So disappointing Anstie not going to Triumph.
Brit rider on Brit machine would've been interesting!
@@vitalmx can't believe that idea never occurred to me. but weren't you and steve wondering out loud how triumph could possibly field a 450 team next year (with savatgy) when they can't even keep two 250 riders supplied or get their 250s on showroom floors? they definitely need to expand, but how exactly are they going to do it?
Could put money on the 250 in The oxford dealership two weeks ago..
Collecting them in july they reckon!
Forkner needs a new slate Yamaha would be a good fit
Forkner needs to retire.
@@michaelhoward7652 exactly!
ngl star picking up mosimon and brown was kinda dumb they havent had any success on gasgas whats makes star think they will have success on a yamaha bike? or are they just trying to fill 250 spots?
What about ktm
I think Austin forkner has completed 1 out of the past 8 supercross seasons so I’d say anyone picking him up is really just praying he wins at least the first couple rounds
Drew racing in Canada
No rumors on Romano??? I wouldn't think Star lets him go yet. He just came off major injuries and is getting his feet under him with his first pro year. I would think they would give him one more year healthy.
If you look at Star's past track record with in-house rookie's/brought up talent, it's right on schedule for sink or swim.
No ktm?
I really wish Forkner would jump on a STAR bike & reboot his career with a BIG change
Pc needs to get away from all but kitchen and start over they need some guys that can finish A season !
It's not the riders....
they got to replace chance hymas... hes really not performing with how long hes been around the Lawrence bros and etc....
its kind of tough for 250 riders.....there is no momentum......their races are all broken up during the supercross season
do you trhink Christin craig might move back down
Can't move back down, once you win a 250 Supercross title, you can't return to 250 Supercross ever. You can race 250 outdoors though.
Surprised kawasaki isn't trying to get marchbanks on the 450 next to Anderson
Prado will be Andersons teammate for 25

Nothing.
Who will Bagget ride for?
Himself, on the weekends, at local tracks.
What about Ducatti ?
i thought Marchbanks and PC didn’t split on good terms
That was the talk at the time!
Im calling Forkner moves to husky 250 to take RJ's spot. RJ moves up to the 450 and unfortunately Craig gets dropped.
RJ will likely stay 250 one more year, then 450 in 2026.
Will Ducati debut in MXGP and wait a year before coming to the US? TLD and Ducati would be awesome. Will Beta get decent riders? Who will ride the second Triumph? I think their debut with Swoll in SX, also in MX2, has been beyond all expectations. Who will ride the Ducati when it comes to these shores?
We mention Triumph in this video. Ducati won't race in the US until at least 2026, maybe 2027.
@@vitalmx Indeed you did, but my comment was more or less covering the spectrum of the new manufacturers entering the sport. You said nothing about Beta. Keep up the good work!
Mitch needs to change his entire team aside from Kitchen. The rest of them are badass on a bike but can not stay off the ground or finish an entire season. Forkner. Well we all know how that goes every season. Mcadoo hasnt even finished an outdoor season in the last 2 years, hasnt even made it past the first round. Hasnt really finished an entire sx season either the last few years. He stays hurt. He cost him and kitchen the red plate. Hammaker has done alittle better this year but still has his moments. Mitch needs more consistency. If I was star racing I'd be ashamed to have that many riders on the track in each coast and still couldn't get it done. Quality over quantity.
Right? Mitch needs to downsize the team by a rider or two and go all in on a heavy hitter that has a proven ability to finish a season strong. Kitchen is killing it, and he's not even training with the team, and I think that also says something about the PC program in SoCal.
@@johnwilkes8847 I agree! Also says something about Star Racing program. The same thing doesn't work for everyone. I guess same can be said for the baker factory too lol different strokes for different folks. I'm a fan of the riders and I respect them all but at what point do you keep letting riders like Forkner fill these upcoming spots for years on end, each yielding the exact same results. I just dont get it.
Agree, listened to Mitch on Pulp and he is so emotionally invested in these boys. I love it, but it’s not the to run a business/ win a championship these days.
Star is doing pretty good
@MrSaul04 Yep I agree. I think he's becoming alot more lenient and willing to give more second chances as he's gotten older.
Did i miss redbull ktm?
No real changes there.
Fair enough@@vitalmx
Jordan smith and rj should be forced to 450 at this point they’ve been in that class awhile
I agree, and RJ did well at Daytona last year on the 450. Move him up already!
Love sushi but Honda needs a 250 guy who doesn’t bend the knee to some bar banging. He’s to nice. Hymas is a wash. The fact max on a privateer team would wash both hrc guys is comical.
Jo has the speed and Hymas is hurt this year, both have potential, also I sorta doubt they care about 250’s right now
@@cactitigerdoubt they care about 250s probably their biggest selling bike lol you do realize the only reason any of the teams are there is to sell bikes of course they care
Crazy star would hang on to thrasher and pick up anstie and brown over smith
Stilez Robertson to Muc-Off. Book it.
I don’t think pierce brown was a good signing but at the same
Time they prolly got him real cheap. Also I don’t really believe the hype with the coenen brothers I been watching the gps yes they’re fast but they also eat shit ALOT. I think the most successful silly season signings are gonna be max anstie as he’s a savage and can win indoors and out on a 250f and I also think drew Adam’s is gonna be the next big thing. Kid is solid as they come works well under pressure and rides his absolute heart out. Coty schock will
Be a good poster boy for club as he’s a solid top 5 guy now
Imo and great personality and work ethic will yield him a great rest of his career.
Can we come up with another name for the offseason free agent period. Silly season is beyond stupid.
what about Kay Dewolf?
Has a MX2 contact with Nestaan for 2025, so earliest in USA would be 2026.
Man I completely forgot about vohland 🤣 haven’t even heard a word from or about him since his injury. Kid has so much potential but I don’t think he has the confidence in himself when he’s racing.
RJ clogs up the top 3 makes it boring. Deegs and Kitchen yes but time for rj to move on.
Thats alot of shuffling. Smith and vohland decent picks for triumph should be some podium spots there. They should try for Forkner, a change might do him good.
Hopefully shimoda pulls his finger out in the last year of contract, hes got the skill.
