Thank you Henry for everything. You will always be my Superman.
The only worrying thing for me is : James Gunn literally turned down Superman cos there wasn’t enough room for him to do what he wants.. hence why he made Peacemaker - a joke - who cracks dick jokes and is nothing like the character.. he's looking for wiggle room to do what he wants - so I'm wondering what his Superman will look like if he wants to do his own thing

A sad day for all us DC fans, but more specifically, Superman fans. Thank you Henry Cavill for everything and for giving us the best iteration of the character. Although you didn’t get another shot at showing us what you can do, you left the best impression you could possibly give as Superman. So with that in mind, thank you. Thank you Zack Snyder as well, for showing us your vision and for what you have given to these characters. Cavill, Affleck, Gadot, and Snyder, you will all be missed. I will miss the Snyderverse. It would be interesting if Zack Snyder was able to adapt his Justice League sequels (and Man of Steel Two) into graphic novels for DC Comics, though. Maybe get Jim Lee to do the art and Scott Snyder to help him with writing them? I'd read that in a heartbeat.

@@miltontavares9506 and many people (finally) realized that DC need not copy the MCU's style when the theatrical cut of Justice League was released. @@srntnjl523 it might have worked as a comedy action if the writers hadn’t done such a god awful job at it. @@TheWraith7 I disagree, based off the likes and views, I am pretty sure most people enjoyed the spectacle, me included. But again, most of us viewers aren't too technical on the do's and dont's of cinematography, and because of that we just enjoy this scene for what it is.
@@TheWraith7 Bro shut up. Those are ridiculous nitpicks. This is an incredible scene.
Because people are retarted asf
They don’t what they’re saying
I love Superman but this movie fucked with its mythos because Zack wanted a post-911 take on the character which made it inherently not what Superman's suppose to represent.
Such as he should already know rock solid who he is simply from being raised by Pa and Ma Kent and didn't need to go talk to his biological father to know he should set an example and be the better (alien race) to lead humanity should they stumble etc. The original idea was: had Superman landed anywhere else on Earth he would've grew up a supervillain. But because he landed in good ol' US of A raised by the Kents who instilled in him the "American values", he grew up to be a paragon of hope and justice (as silly as self aggrandizing as that sounds today, you have to recall the era when this character was created and I frankly dig the 'murica vibe on Superman it works for me beautifully.) But of course in MoS Pa Kent didn't exactly teach Clark shit so he had to find out himself by travelling the world and finally broke through with his bio father which raises the question of what if his dad was Zod and said: "you're confused son? Well let me set you straight, you're suppose to conquered this world and terraform it into New Krypton, you know, for THEIR OWN GOOD." Original Superman would've snorted and blew up the ship and fly away, MoS Superman would've at least hesitated and considered it for a second because he's directionless and doesn't know who he is.
The more egregious example is how Zack handled Pa Kent's death. Instead of say have young Clark and Pa play out in the afternoon and Clark being much fitter than ol Jon kept pushing his dad to keep up with him to which later Jon had a heart attack and Clark learn from that day that despite having all this power there are things that even he cannot do and that kept his budding ego in check as he enters his teen years when he's starting to realized he's stronger than everyone else and nothing can harm him and he can protect everyone.
Instead of that, we have a "save the dog" trope where instead of Pa and Ma tell Clark to go save the dog and use this as an opportunity to train Clark to think fast on his feet on how he could hide his identify while saving people's lives in disaster situation. He could run into the cyclone, release the dog, and hide under the car and come back out intact and just tell people he was lucky (to which Pa Kent can say that was lame), or he could just run off and disappear then regroup with Pa and Ma later. But instead, Pa Kent go instead and dies. Great. Clark is devastated as he watches "helplessly" as the cyclone swept away his dad... what the fuck kind of message is that Zack? Why would you do it this way? You had a winning formula you didn't have to change to begin with, and when you do change it it took away everything what Superman is suppose to be about.
It was what the previous gentleman said regarding people wanting the origin story to stay close the original story and people where eating up the less dramatic but a bit more escapism style story in the MCU. I loved this movie (with a bit of bad pacing and editing being acknowledged). I enjoy the more grounded and thematic world Snyder was building. I’m not sure about the post 9/11 thing the other gentleman was talking about. I’d like to see snyders Interview where he says that. But the real world philosophic choices and lessons Clark Kent learns through this movie to begin becoming Superman to me was excellent.

My favorite movie bro 🔥🔥🔥🐐 cbm
God cannot accept imperfectness and we are imperfect cause we are sinners. People need salvation because god is perfect. God loves sinners (us) so much that his son Jesus Christ died in the cross for our sins so we can repent and follow him. The door is still open to this day! But there will be a time where that door will be shut. We cannot earn our salvation through good things we do. Salvation is through repenting of your sins, believing on what Jesus Christ did, and follow his ways. This is the gift from god here. Jesus became sin and died so we can have a clean record. John 3:16 For god so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Typically Superman tv shows and movies have either covered the days before he put on the suit and/or long after he has been Superman for quite a while. Some couldn’t stand this was a ‘grounded’ take on the first few weeks of Superman being officially Superman, a character learning as much about his origins as his powers and himself.
You have to think that outside of the first Iron Man and Doctor Strange the Marvel movies didn’t have much in terms of character arcs. Pretty much the heroes, acquiring a power or ability aside, are the same at the beginning and the end of the films. A slower burn character arc was different and many just didn’t have patience.

No DC fan should. Zack Snyder's vision was what y'all needed. This movie was where y'all stood a chance to compete with Marvel. But the WB clowns wanted the safer route. You know, if they just let Snyder do whatever he wants, there would have been a massive chance that DCEU would take over as the hype after Endgame, and neutral fans like us salivate at that idea. It's a massive shame. The film industry would have looked way, way more different because as such, Superman and Batman are the most iconic comic book characters (along with Spider Man from Marvel).
i have nothing bad to say to it.
@@arishemthejudge6780 who is y'all?
@@arishemthejudge6780 Agreed (if you're saying what I think you're saying). There are MANY differences between the MCU and the comics, pretty much ALL of which are due to (in my view absolutely spot-on) artistic decisions by the filmmakers who knew what works on the page might not work on film.
In fact, my understanding is that comic Iron Man has actually changed to match RDJ's portrayal, because it works so well.
If the DCEU had gone "full Snyder," it would've made comic fans scream (as this film did), but as with the MCU, they'd eventually get on board.
Instead, we get a corporate product made by suits who trust focus groups and internet buzz over the artists they hire and hamstring.
Again, IF that's what you're saying
AGREED 💯
Every man wants to be Superman, and you made us feel like him, thank you.
The movie was a masterpiece. This scene is Iconic. What a privilege to have watched this.
I love how he starts out jumping and then starts flying. The jumping part is an homage to the Golden Age Superman. The original Superman could only jump over buildings and could lift cars. Then later on the writers kept giving Superman more powers. But I loved that nod. This movie is the hidden gem of superhero movies
Highly underrated film
Fun Fact: The reason why Superman could fly now is because the animators from the Fleischer Superman cartoons thought it'd be more convenient to just animate him flying instead of just bouncing around with super jump, and they made the flying look amazing. So from then on, Supes could fly, and it's all thanks to those talented animators
@@user-uo8mx3cv5k oh dang that’s actually pretty sick to know
@@user-uo8mx3cv5k woah that’s insane
You're wrong. Superman jumping in the beginning was simply him learning to fly nothing less nothing more. He couldn't quite figure out how to stay in the air till that final jump. That's why he was simply jumping at first
Let us all take a moment and appreciate the work of Hans Zimmer, he really did a great job!! Superb music tbh
You can actually feel superman in zimmers work, awesome
I think that Hans Zimmer's Flight does better job in portraying Superman than John Williams's Superman's theme.

There's no cg here, Henry Cavill is really flying.
Rewatched this movie after a long time and it aged like fine wine
Jackman worked as Wolverine because they allowed him to fulfill his abilities as the character. Axing Cavill after 3 appearances (only one of which solo) is unforgivable.
The darker tone of his suit looks so cool.
How can Clark Kent not wear mask and gloves when he gets his Superman suit especially from all versions?!

Such a good catch!
Exactly. When it comes to his power, he doesn't care how powerful he can be, he wants to know why
Was never a fan of superman since i was a kid. I thought he was boring like a super over powered alien being. Until i rewatched this film today, now i’m 23, and realized that he has a much more deep meaning to him. He may be a kryptonian buut he was raised here on earth as a farmboy from kansas.

Thanks Henry for giving us an amazing encarnation of Superman. MOS will be always in our hearts... #fireJamesGunn
Yeah James is gonna be terrible, but because he directed some Guardians movies people are gonna rally behind him and literally this is WB’s final chance to make DC profitable again before having to sell it to people who would actually have it succeed. Can’t have that.

You will always be in our heart ❤️ Goodbye Superman. We love you all Henry Cavill. 🙏
This movie wasn't just cool, it was emotional. There are multiple scenes in Man of Steel that make me almost wanna cry, this being one of them--and I'm a grown ass man for pete sakes.
same here, man! I saw this with my then preteen daughter...this scene and other ones just made my heart race and made me grin like an idiot. There was something both moving and powerful in this movie.
Jor El's speech about hope is what makes me have tears
Same soooooooo underrated
Someone in the comments said it best: “this movie makes me want to be a better man”
It’s okay for men to have emotions.
I think this is the most physically acccurate superhero flight ever filmed in movie. The environment effects are just mind blowing. A masterpiece is underrated word for this scence.
nickys34 nope. You need to understand in the movie the suit isn’t made by normal human. The suit is from his world. But the effects of the supersonic boom is accurate.
nickys34 dude it’s a fictional damn movie get over it 😂😂 none this shit is real. It’s as realistic as it could be but whatever it is it’s enough
nickys34 hey dude my cousin got my phone he’s 13 and toxic so my bad. But yeah I get it it’s not real obviously it’s a fictional movie everything won’t be perfect or realistic.
nickys34 no need to get so pressed😂 it’s a movie get over it
@nickys34 you need to understand.
The suit is made of some material that can withstand the force. That material is not on earth. For all I care, that suit can be thrown into the sun and survive.
They just announced he won't be playing Superman anymore! But he will always remain the only Superman of my generation. The only hope I know.
This is a masterpiece and IS the best live action Superman movie.
Honestly, I really felt a human connection to Clark when he didn't quite know how to fly perfectly right out of the gate. When he realized that he could push past what he thought was his limitations and chuckled up a smile. I felt that. Riding a bike the first time you don't perform like a BMX pro. Even Superman took baby steps. But his baby steps were more like Hulk jumps.
Probably the most human portrayal of him yet. Not knowing all of the answers, having to ask people he knows for them and having to encounter things out of his control even with his powers. There are a few things that I would change, but I love this movie nonetheless for what it is.
The Jumps before he flew... is a callback to Superman's original powers... he didn't fly originally... it's where the saying Superman can leap tall buildings in a single bound... the flying was added later as a convenience for other people telling his story. And you can even see the other Kryptonians leaping around instead of flying, until the battle with Zod near the end of the movie as an escalation.
@@MedalionDS9 true dat
@@MedalionDS9 That is true man! This is pretty nice that Snyder made that evolution for Kal-El and the rest of the Kryptonians. Like, not even Zod and his henchmen were able to fly due to Krypton having a red sun and making them become weaker like normal humans. The exposure to the Earth's sun is their energy to escalate their powers. Like when Zod was fighting Kal-El and he awoke the heat vision and it was hurting him at first and he didn't know how to control it
The flying makes no sense.
I feel like Rotten Tomatoes should go back to movies that was previously low scored and rewatch. Some movies were just ahead of it's time and this has aged so well.
But i think it's because of Zack Snyder, in every movie he directed they always react them suck, but they shouldn't do it in this badass movie
@@adamcade604 they simply don't understand Zack Snyder
This film is shockingly misunderstood and underrated. From the moment Jor-El ventures outside and Zod's forces have begun the insurrection, you know immediately that this film was a labor of love. And Michael Shannon's unending commitment to his role actually makes you want to root for him. And then flash forward to Smallville with the Air-Force scrambling a squadron of A10 warthogs. You sit speechless as these Alien interlopers rip asunder our military industrial complex but the soldiers and airmen do not waver as they fight alongside the man of steel. Even later finally two titans clash and a megalopolis is collateral damge as they hurl blows at one another with Earth shattering strengh. Its a feast for the senses. And it's better than any single one Marvel movie.
Nothing about Man of Steel was ahead of it's time, it was extremely inspired by it's contemporaries. Critics didn't like this film because of it's poor plotting, over-indulgent writing, and lack of color. This scene's pretty good though. If you like the movie that's fine, but let's stop pretending everything we consider underrated was simply "ahead of it's time" without challenging whether that's true or not.
