- In this video I show how to do the pure signal mod on a Hermes Lite 2 radio and the packaging of the parts. I plan to do a few videos on this radio showing some of the setup and what it can do. If interested don't forget to subscribe.

About to add the PS port so running across your video was timely…I’ve added the + board for the local mic, etc. Thanks!
Thanks for the shout out Chuck. For sure a great radio and one that I have been having fun with for a couple of years now. I can't believe people listen to me ;) And I consider it a gateway drug to the bigger SDRs.
LOL it is a gateway drug!
So Don is a gateway drug dealer? Haha
I want the I/O board, too, so I think I don't need to do this mod.
I've saved it all in my cart, just another week or two to order. :)
I think that Don needs to provide us all with 24/7 support now.😂
@@DonzLockz Hey remember who started me on this journey through his belief that I really needed to get one of these (Hermes): Tom VK5TOM. So . . . 🤣
Very nice mod Chuck! The Hermes Lite 2 is a gamechanger. I would suggest some way to "strain relief" that coax on the board so that there is no pressure exerted on the solder connections. If one were to flap in the breeze, it could easily contact the main board and ruin ones day. 73 OM
Yea the strain relief was my first concern also, I got some short jumpers to help with that thanks!
Interesting transceiver!
Don is the man. Thank you for this video Chuck.
Yes he is , YW. and thank you for watching!
Don is making me think about one aswell. Im gonna investigate more but that wifi option sounds appealing to me.🍻🤠
pure signal golden screwdriver, nice!
Nice video Chuck. ;) Maybe add some link in the video description of where to find the HL II board. And where the info for the PS Mod came from. ;)
Added Dan will have to look for the mod later and post.
What ist the maximum input power for the HL2? i have an amplifier that gives me approximately 200w and i have also a -40dB directional coupler....
How about soldering a connector onto the header, so the jumper is removable and not under strain?
Also I just read something about a metal shim under the 2 little power amp transistors on the hermes board to help heat travel to the case better. Did you do this as well? Edit: nevermind I see that you have a screw and nut there. i assume the metal shim is under that.
Yes Dan that was what the screw and nut was for the shim.
Nice toy, now back to a real stand-alone radio.
why downgrade?
@@slappomatthew ? Like cars, no one have to upgrade. lol
Just got mine LOVE IT!!!!! de VK2AOE 73.
Awesome! I'll be expecting many comprehensive videos on it, Mr Clown.🤡👍😁🇦🇺
Don always spending people's money...

I'm sorry but Thetis sounds too much like Cletis.
