there are many batsmen who have more power than Buttler but the strong wrists and clean bat swing of Buttler really make him a special player, and also he is one of those few players who can play in all gears, can be both funky and classical whatever is required.
I am of the opinion that Eng need Jos Butler in the middle overs and push Bairstow who is ineffective at No.4 to open the batting. I would also have backed Moeen Ali to bat at 3 and play the all rounder role considering his experience in T20 franchise cricket.
But it's Morgan team. And let's see how he and VK go about building their teams with the 100 and IPL before the WT20.
They may have a squad of 23 players due to covid but on the day only 11 will play and if things don't go according to their plan, there will always be social media pressure making the bench players look better than the original XI. . .
I’m not a fan of malan, even though he’s meant to be No1 t20 batsman. He’s a slow starter which can lose you games in t20 format. I also think the ecb need to rethink their issues with Hales because him and Roy should open with Bairstow at 3 or Buttler then Morgan. Just my opinion.
