And this is coming from an American who grew up playing tackle football for 8 years before playing 5 years of D1 club rugby in college.
This NFL dude went to Eastern WA University though, which is just up the road a bit from me, so props to him and Cooper Kupp on the rams.
@Ploke Newo78 I think it's just because of the big players and the rough and tumble nature of both sports. As we know though, the nature of the two sports is vastly different.
Jamie is a hero in France as well as Wales. Rugby is the best game in the world by far, not that I'm biased lol!
American football only play on average 11 minutes were rugby play 80 and we don't use pads

Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy.

Yeah rugby players are definitely built to outlast everyone else and to do it extremely well. American Foot all players are built to be the best athlete possible, but only for 15 seconds at a time.

I’m willing to bet the average NFL player has more endurance . In 10 seconds a NFL player can run 50 yards. Compared to in rugby which it can sometimes take a minute to go that far or longer. A lot of the time players are just jogging compared to full sprints at 20mph because they are trying to save their energy.
I love the discussion about concussion awareness and changing form. As a contact sport player (roller derby), concussion awareness is a massive thing and I'm super proud to see other sports taking it more seriously.

Good to see the appreciation and respect of each other's games. While NFL was derived from Rugby the two sports are chalk and cheese otherwise. I note the conversation re the NLF learning from Rugby for certain skills with tackling techniques mentioned. This is much like cricket has learned a lot from baseball especially with fielding skills. Well done all. I don't hack people who think their sport is better that others. Ask any kid what's the best sport on earth and they will tell you theirs' is.

Yeah, American footballers should definitely adopt rugby tackles so as to lessen the risks of concussions. Concussions still happen in rugby, but it’s due to accidents or reckless and illegal play.

I agree but mostly because they have gotten so used to just shoulder tackles they don’t know how to wrap and that’s how the other team has big plays at times. The smaller chance of injury would be a big plus
Well it's not so much tackling form, but false confidence pads have. NFL players release nearly 5 times more kinetic energy per tackle, compared to rugby tackles. And that's because players fly at eachother full speed and think they are somehow immune to injury while wearing pads and helmets.

Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. I mean both are incredible athletes but Samson Ebukam is a linebacker, which means he has to get past 2 to 3 guys that are each 6'8" and are 300-380 lbs to even touch the quarterback who is usually around 6'0"- 6'6" and 215-245 lbs. And he has to reach the quarterback before he throws the ball within 1-3 seconds. Try doing that while only being 6'3" and 245 lbs. Try moving a guy that's almost double your weight within a second. And if the quarterback does get the throw off then he has to run the 60 yards to try and stop the guy from scoring which means he has to get past those over 300 lbs blockers again. The NFL is constant contact, you are using all of your strength in each play, over 20 plays a game. That guy has to attempt to move those two to three 300 to 380 lbs guys 20 to 30 times a game. Back to back weeks (except for 1 week) for 17 weeks. Pull-ups and push-ups just doesn't do him any justice.

Because football is the only sport that needs a 40yd dash. Everyother sport except baseball, is a back and forth up and down the field kind of game. The 40 is useless in comparing athletes from different sports.

At this stage no well. I wouls say a substantial difference. When I was young they were not allowed to get paid. Imagine being an attorney or doctor = after a days work you go training. On tour they just lost income. But it changed. However the big buddel is in Europe = with the politics and numbers many south africans play there... and it is club rugby not even national level. Also methinks NFL players have better options when it comes to post playing days and careers.

I'd rather like to watch 'Rugby team vs NFL team' NFL match & then those same teams (Rugby team vs NFL team) with the same squad should play Rugby (Union) match. They should play a series of 3 matches in each sport, it should show a much better comparison between them, fans of both sports from around the world (for Rugby) & mostly US (for NFL) will watch to cheer for their sport & see who is more talented or which is more difficult to master. Rugby is by far the most entertaining sport. It is non stop for 80 minutes contact unlike American football, each team can compete for the ball and win it back at anytime (playing defence and attack can switch in a second), it is without all the ad breaks, shoulder pads and helmets. All shapes and sizes play on the field at the same time. Rugby players can step and catch like a wide receiver, tackle like a cornerback, physicality of a running back, kick like a kicker and direct play and throw accurate passes (behind themselves) like a quarterback.
Rugby is also played internationally rather than just the Americans with football.
Rugby is good when you want to sleep and need something to put on TV while you nap. Good background noise.

Eh bottom line, in rugby you got to be stronger for longer without pads or helmets [their "helmets" are more like three towels layered]. In NFL you exert short bursts of power and can basically hit your opponent however you like [im aware there's probably some rules about illegal tackles], because of this you got to wear pads and helmets so generally less endurance. They're different sports but i'll let you decide which of the two is "tougher" 😉

i think of it as NFL is short plays of exposive power Vs Rugby long plays of endurance power also NFL players are more speciality focused have set roles and in rugby while you do have set role each player is expected to be able to play across other postions is need be. As in any given phase of play as the normal player who is in that role could be currently tackled to the floor so need someone else to do thier job for that phase.
