- Even gravity can't hold us down! The Team needed a new challenge after performing three world record-breaking pit stops this season alone - and we found it at an altitude of 33,000 feet on board an Ilyushin Il-76 MDK cosmonaut training plane.
Drawing on the help of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, the Team took the 2005 RB1 car to the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City and set about proving that the sky really is the only limit by completing a pit stop in zero gravity!

@@speeddemonchris Probably gonna drop to sub 10 seconds since, if I remember correctly, they are gonna use F1 style lugnuts, aka there will only be one. I would not be surprised to see them dropping a couple seconds off. It will still be slower, since they only have 2 people for 4 lugnuts but still. Pitstops will most likely be between 9-10 seconds, however I don't think they will be in the 8 second range.

Now I think it through, if spaceship racing then downforce isn’t needed, if racing in a f1 car on a planet which has less gravity than earth(which is the only decent choice without leaving the solar system) down force sure needs to be more, if try to race on Neptune then the need of downforce would be less
Michael Görtzen was just trying to give a example of a planet with more gravity than earth does, but if they want to get on a planet heavier than earth they would get a ton of AUs away from the solar system, and why are we even talking about this when human hasn’t even set foot (or get close enough) on all the other planets 😅
