Geoff has his own CZcams channel for Basses/Baritones
The note he hit at the end was a subharmonic E
Towards the lower E
You should throw Matt fouch on the list, he does a great version of way faring stranger, very deep, very satisfying
"Wait... that was him???" - Me, leaning back, smiling proudly: "of course that was him, it's Geoff"
SAME omggg 🤣🤣
Yassss
His name Geoff(please tell me you get the reference lol)
Sameeeee
@@GhostlyGamer999 dude... stawp... 😅
her reacting to the 2 octave jump up, me "I can't wait till she hears the 3 octave drop"
* 3.5 octave drop
which song?
@@atp3728 The end of this song, I imagine
Geoff did a 4 octave drop in the little mermaid medley
@@frozentaho206 nope. There is a 3 octave drop (D5-D2) doubletracked with the D1 at the end (so the last note of the slide are actually two notes: D2 ending the slide, and just the D1)
4:42 I never hear anyone talk about Geoff's little doo-be-dee-doo-be-dee-do walk down in the background but I love it so much
I never noticed until now. thank you for pointing that out.
Watch ken Lavigne he's the first one i saw that points out that part i never noticed it before i watched his video
I can’t remember the CZcamsr but there was I guy who noticed it
had to go back. never noticed it until you pointed it out. thanks. good catch.
Apparently it was made by layering a deep tone and a higher tone of his, which is amazing in itself - But even cooler to me is that he does it in a bass tone when singing this live!
Every time I see a woman react to this video and hear that last note, the look on their face always says "I will have your children or die trying!"
super fucking weird dude
@@quantimix, thank you! :)
@@quantimix Hes got a point lowkey I’ve kinda noticed it too, except guys also have the look
@@galaxyvic5020 Its Geoff.. Everyone has had that look with Geoff
@@galaxyvic5020
Since there’s adoption available, guys can wan’t to have his children too. 😉
The exact moment she felt the deep note was all in her face...lol.
Need me a woman who looks at me like Katriinka looks at Geoff when he drops that E1.
If we could hit that E1, it probably wouldn't be a problem for either one of us 🤣
@@themoondog6567 Well, we could always record ourselves and play it back at like 50% speed, that counts, right?
@@themoondog6567 Hit? Hell, I can’t even *see* that E1 from my range
Best I can do with subharmonics is an F1 😔
@@sirgallabad keep trying!! you might get there :D
I love everyone’s visceral reaction to Geoff’s subharmonic note😭😭 it’s always the same and it cracks me up
Please do The Little Mermaid Medley by Voiceplay for more of Geoff's insane range!
PS: you're adorable and I love the red hair! Happy Spooky Season ♥
Happy Spooky! I would love to! Let me check them out and put them on the list!

YES!!! ⬆️⬆️⬆️
@@Katriinka Once the spooky season is over you should listed to his looong low note in the Moana medley. These guys are great.
@@Katriinka They also do a Moana medley which is just magical!
I believe Geoff actually arranges a lot (if not most) of their covers, and in all of them everyone has a moment to shine in the song. Sometimes there's more of a "main character", like in this one, but they all still get to show off their voice in one way or another, and I've always really liked that about this group and their arrangements!
You've GOT to listen to their Queen compilation. Geoff's all over the register with it and his falsetto is breathtaking.
i love these reaction videos of this particular song. Everyone gets so excited when he reaches that high note, and you can see how impressed they are when he hits B1, and then I usually grab my popcorn and wait for him to hit the E1. Never fails to disappoint.
plus the fun stuff is he can go lower.
@@eolsunder his lowest note in a song is a b0 in the Halo theme, but I think In a video he an a0

I'm 100% sure you'll REALLY enjoy their Little Mermaid medley Katrinka! Great vid as always :)
You'll freak out. Also... listen to their phantom of the opera
she likes to listen to more the asian/indian singers she doesn't do a whole lot with the american singers, only a couple. Mostly eastern music.
After seeing this and your Home Free reaction, I think you would love Ring of Fire by home free featuring Avi Kaplan from Pentatonix. It is such a great cover, and featuring two of the best basses around! Love your reactions, especially since I am a sucker for the deep voices as well.
Ring Of Fire might be brewing :)
@@KatriinkaOoh best news all day! I would love it if you got into some of Pentatonix's stuff after that.
Please Katrinka! It’s Tim and Avi...I mean...CMON lol!! That double bass doh...
@@Katriinka I bet you really lose it listening to Barry White... 😘
AFTER ring of fire you need to listin to mayday by home free you will be just as shocked
I really loved that you pointed out all the great background stuff in the arrangement and not just Geoff's voice, amazing though it may be. I think you're the first reactor/vocal coach to point it out
You might also enjoy "Misty Mountains" covered by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. Very low and cosplay.
Yes pls hahaha
Yes! This is a great one for sure. Tim Foust is an awesome bass of course, but Peter Hollens is just one of my favorite musical youtubers and entertainers in general!
Absolutely agree
Misty mountains would break her 😂
Her face went, “*turn* w h a t 😃
If you haven't heard yet, Geoff (pronounced Jeff) has done a few "solo" covers, where he records himself doing all the Parts.
Bare Necessities (Disney Jungle Book), and Blackbird (Beatles). Both should be sufficiently Bassy :)
And as of yesterday he has fone the Headless Ho4seman Awesome!!
And 16 Tons......
Oh gosh that one’s great.
I absolutely love this little "huh..." after Geoff's last drop. 😂 that's adorable. 🤭
I love the subtle contemplation of life choices that vocal coaches have after hearing the final E1

I love how every video I see of people reacting to that last part they are shocked by how low he can do and then realized that wasn’t his lowest and become speechless 😂
Who else is watching her reactions to the notes mid song waiting in anticipation for her reaction to the final note?
It amazes me every time I hear this. His natural range is so vast...it makes my brain weep with joy. How could one human being cover so many octaves and so much range so effortlessly? Its ALL his natural range! So impressive!
The real question though...is nightmare before Christmas a Halloween movie, or a Christmas movie!!.....I say both!!
omg are we trying to start a war! I agree though! Golden middle. Let´s claim it both seasons!
Katriinka I need some Sally’s song! Maybe do a cover?!? Or react to Amy Lees? This movie is going to be stuck in my head all day now at the hospital! Patients are getting some oogie boogie songs tonight!
Yes
I always watch it on November 1st, to close out Halloween and start getting ready for Thanksgiving/Christmas.
Paul Sapp it’s a Christmasween. Movie (also known as Christmas Eve)
let's be real - I only came here for the shocked face at Goeff's last note
also you should check out more of VoicePlay and Home Free, you ain't heard nothin yet
Same
same. i've been binge watching reaction videos of him and tim foust cause i recently discovered them myself
Ditto
"we rarely get bass singing the main part", good thing he's not just confined to bass haha
I would highly recommend reacting to Geoff Castellucci’s cover of blackbird by the Beatles he recently put out on his channel!! It’s insane!!
I love Home Free, I love Pentatonix, but I can see my a capella collection is lacking something: I need to watch more Voiceplay. I love the theatricality of this as well, and Geoff is amazing. I also love that all three groups are apparently good friends, with Avi joining Home Free for Ring of Fire, and Geoff Castellucci arranging the music for Home Free's collaboration with the Oak Ridge Boys on Elvira. By the way, I have to admit I've always been a sucker for redheads.
If you want theatrics, check out VoicePlay's Road Trip. It was one of the first things I ever saw of them and it is amazing
I suspect you might enjoy Voctave as well
That last note, you feel it more than hear it.
I’m not sure - did you like it?
LOVED your reaction, enthusiasm and analysis! 7:51 😂
There’s so much to like about this performance but I especially enjoy when Geoff throws down his arms, tilts his head back and joyously sings, “I’m the Obie Boogie Man!”
I love watching reactors, especially vocal coaches, get utterly floored at Geoff's insane range. 1st tenor on down to basso profundo. And she said "what..." ROFL❤
So..... MY reaction to her reaction was, she is such an adorable young lady. Absolutely beautiful and an innocent aura about her, but very intelligent at the same time
I love this!
Your reaction to Geoff's low note (I think it's an E1, or something in that ballpark) is such a joy to behold.
This Bass singer actually has a five octave range! What a fun song!.💞
You don't really have to be afraid of the group hiding Geoff's voice, because he does a lot of the arrangements. XD They are great musicians, they even had a camp where they taught people how to sing acapella. (I wish I had known about it when it was happening, seriously :'( )
The group is pretty good, both at singing cooperatively and sharing the spotlight. That's one of the reasons I love Voice Play, you can really tell that Egos are thrown out the door in favor of just creating fantastic music.
Katrinka your "O" face is showing on that E1 lol dont worry ive watched maybe 30 of these reactions to this song and everyone has the same look.
I love how you can get so emotionally wrapped around your reactions. It is as if you listen, analize, react and then for the extra bonus show that you you are human and can instantly connect to a style, a technique and meanings behind a song. Many people do that, I know but you allow us to see so thank you. Now back to your video!
That's easily my favorite of your reactions! You have such a warm, expressive and wonderful personality and it was all on display here. Wow, thank you for making my Oogie Boogie day!
Yes I been waiting for this beautiful angel to react to this and on que she had a ummm moment haha. Ok seriously I just love to hear her say devil-op(develop), perf-rmance(performance), and now corrector(character). Just the cutest and sweetest. I need to start working on my singing(I can't, at all), voice already deep. Great job, as always!
This lady went through a whole range of emotions on that last note.
If deep voices is what you’re looking for Tomi P is a treasure chest that doesn’t get enough recognition
I keep coming back to this video because your reaction to that last note is absolutely adorable. There is like three famous reaction memes in the span of a few seconds.
This is a true reaction/analysys. U can see when someone's really know what they're talking about, all the knowledge being used to provide a great content, specially for musicians. Congratulations miss, you are one of a kind.
Katriinka, you're just the cutest spooky I have ever seen!! 😂
I'm just into Voiceplay lately and I think they're super fun. Geoff's low notes are unreal they're freakingly awesome. Thank you for this particular reaction, I could see clearly when you said you're over-excited lol. Have a great one, always stay safe, healthy, and happy!! 😊
I enjoyed your breakdown of this video, thank you!
Dear Katriinka, don't forget to react to Tim Foust in Home Free Ring Of Fire & Home Free featuring Avi Kaplan Ring Of Fire and Peter Hollens & Tim Foust Misty Mountains where the last note is Tim going very LOOOOWWW. Your's and your Back's health remain FOREVER & ALWAYS in my thoughts & prayers. 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠🙏💓
Also worth a listen: The Hound & The Fox feat. Tim Foust - We Three Kings
Excellent video Katriinka! Enjoyed it very much.
I get excited with all these reaction vids I’m just waiting to see their faces for that 2 octave jump and the 3 octaves at the end and it never disappoints.
I recently discovered they cover and I fall in love with it
Now CZcams is recommending me every single reaction of the song
And here I am watching them all
You've got a great ear! All that cool syncopation stuff that the guys were doing in the background was awesome! It sounds so simple but to nail that in the pocket is real technical skill. As an aside, that last note of Geoff's gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! You're great! I've subscribed! Hi from Canada!
What a great start to the halloween season, Thank you Katriinka what a great choice of song it has made a good start for the holiday.
we might need to have a nightmare before Christmas for a movie night ;)
thank you so much Slane! I do hope so!
First thing she notice was the costumes instead of his voice 😂
Great reaction video. Appreciation for acapella has grown in recent years, but I think it's still undervalued in spite of the amazing talent it takes to perform/produce. It's good to see genuine appreciation of the vocal talent.
I see you enjoyed this quite a bit. That's always nice to see. It's very cool to see a bass out in front instead of in the back supporting everyone else. Stay safe and take care :-)
I keep coming back to you and your reaction. Addictive to see your emotions to songs.
Your excitement for Halloween put a huge smile on my face :)
I have found that I like watching reaction videos. Your responses are wonderful.
One of his best switches from high to low ismin The Little Mermaid medley, when Geoff is singing Ursula's part.
This is the most theatrical performance I've seen from VoicePlay and it's sooooo much better than the original!
What a fun reaction!
Love the hair, love the channel, keep up the positive attitude and awesome reviews 😃♥️
He can hit that note live too, straight off the rip. He (Geoff, the bass) has videos on his channel where he talks about how he learned to sing lower and the questions that he normally gets
Katriinka I find your accent enchanting.
Your amazing!!
Just love this performance 👍🏻👍🏻
I just enjoy watching them being amazed by Geoff ❣️
Wait till she hears his range in the Little mermaid Medley.
her face she absolutely BROKE for a good 3 seconds when he hit that final low note XD
im sorry, this is my first time seeing ur channel but u are literally too adorable 😭🙏 (casually watching multiple oogie boogie reactions to geoff-)
I was sure that everything would be solved, seeing a new video of yours, was the best news of the day. God bless you !! Your work is really fantastic !!
I still do not have my video back, but hopefully! Thank you so much Mauricio!
@@Katriinka , I believe that, its time question to solve the positive form .. If we ( Your fans ) can make everything, let us know ! God bless you!!
@@mauriciopachecosanchespach1553 thank you so much. You supporting me means already tons!

Katriinka you have such a great personality.. I come to see you just so I can see you be happy on here. Have a great day !
aww thank you so much Kris. Hope I passed some on you! :)
@@Katriinka You have. This just made my day. Hope you have a great evening and stay safe. :D
This was super fun, you would love Geoff Castellucci singing Black Bird where he does all the vocals (high and low). Katriinka you are super fun to watch and listen to. Cheers
To be perfectly honest, Geoff is my favorite basso profundo singer on CZcams. Like... I never get enough of his low notes. As such, I really have to encourage you to listen to more of VoicePlay. They do a wonderful job of making sure that all of their singers get time in the spotlight across their videos. They even had their first run of their "Part Work" series, where two of the singers would cover a song just themselves with layering to round out the number of parts. Still, if I had to suggest one song for you to listen to next, it would be I Can't Help Falling in Love With You.
Now, good news and bad news. First the bad: Earl has stepped down from Voice Play here within the last year. I'm still kind of reeling from that, and he's going to be missed. Still, 23 years in the group... he's kind of earned it. Now the good news. Geoff (while still being in VoicePlay) has his own solo channel as well. He does sing, but also reads spooky poems and the like.
You talk about them being such great characters... I hands down have to agree. They do great character work throughout their videos. They can even (as you've seen) play some really outstanding villains. So, on the whole... welcome to VoicePlay. You're not going to be upset.
i liked this cause of the effort it took cause it’s so long 😂❤️ have a good day/night!
You are so adorable. :-) Geoff is my second favorite bass next to Tim Foust from Home Free. Both have amazing ranges and beautiful deep voices. I don't like comparing them because their tones and styles are very different. Tim just edges out as the favorite because I've seen him perform live more often....and he's worn my tiara.
your reaction on the end where he goes this low is priceless
you should listen to Geoff's cover of Far over the Misty Mountains Cold. He gets deep into his Sub-Harmonic range and ends up going lower then he did in this song.
I'm pretty sure that every vocal coach who has heard Geoff swooned over his voice! :-) I mean, I am in love with his voice and I'm a truck driver! lol
I'm a guy, and that last note even hit me on the G spot. Great reaction.
I'd love to see more Voiceplay/Geoff reactions. Especially Hoist the Colors and 16 Tons
You was as surprised as I was. I really like his deep, and low voice. What a unique group ..
That bit of beatboxing after the Santa talks is a bass lip roll
This season is the only season! 😁🎃👻💀
When I saw Oogie Boogie Man I screamed a *liiiitle* and caught myself 😄
I love watching people react to this song 😂
I always love watching people react to how high he goes, then their reaction to his subharmonic
Wow !! Your eyes show your soul smile !!
im so happy to these vocal coaches trying to replay epic moments hahahaha, I can relate
Tim Faust is another booming bass, in an acapella band called Home Free. Man of Constant Sorrow, Folsom Prison Blues, Everybody Walking this Land, Auld Lang Sine, Helplessly Hoping, and etc. Also listen to his Duet with Peter Hollens in Greensleeves.
A couple others for Voiceplay are Warriors, Trapped to name a few.
Also can I say that I love your personality, very genuine. Keep it up.
Edit:
Didn't realize that she has already reacted to Man of Constant Sorrow
Those harmonies in Helplessly Hoping!
Not necessarily one of Home Free's songs I listen to on repeat or frequently, but I do think it is one of their best videos for showing off their harmonies. Too bad it's so short tho!
I remember a video of Geoff explaining Tim gave him tips to sing lower... So many "vocal coach reactions" about Man of Constant Sorrow, Tim Foust* is the boss !!
I didnt hear it at first but ever since it was pointed out to me I LOVE that little bass riff he does in the back after "To add a little spice!"
wow good reaction i love : )
I really hope you do more voice play reaction
Can you react to Home Free's new "Folsom Prison Blues" cover?
hahah {pulls out the good old car jack} yeap always have this ready for this song and mostly for that final note
that low note is an E1 he sings lower and the Bb 4 on the top,
Love your sweet voice and accent
Yes, that was a two octave jump, Geoff is one of the most talented singers out there. Listen to more of them, I just subscribed.
And it's pronounced like Jeff. The same.
