- Back in January Harley-Davidson of Quantico announced that they were sponsoring an Ice Butt Challenge that ran through the last Saturday of February. Who could ride the most miles in the cold weather we were experiencing over that 5-6 weeks. Never one to back down from a challenge, I jumped in with both feet. If nothing else, I figured that it was a good test for the new Hotwired heated gear that I had picked up at the start of the year. Here's a look at that heated gear. And guess who won the challenge??

It's been hard for me to justify heated gear, but I may just break down and go for it. These look like what I would be looking for. I did not want to deal with batteries.
Now's a good time to buy while it's on sale. One really nice thing about this is that, unlike with a heated full on jacket, the jacket liner packs down small so you can just keep it in your bag in the fall and spring and pull it out if you need it.
This sounds like a great option if my gear breaks down. What is the texture of the pants liner? Curious how they feel on the inside vs gear that is worn over clothes.
It's all smooth nylon and extremely comfortable. Very different than the Fieldsheer external stuff but still provides wind protection. And packs down in a fraction of the space.
@@withPercy Gonna have to check this out for sure when mine is ready for replacement. The packing savings would be worth it.
