Riding with Diabetes - Keeping your injectables cool while touring with the 4AllFamily Voyager!
In this video of the Riding with Diabetes series, I want to talk about a solution that I found for keeping our injectables cooled, even while touring for multiple weeks. It's the 4AllFamily Voyager travel refrigerator. Yes... I said refrigerator. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a 5 week bike trip out west and back. And I'm going to use this product to travel with 5 weeks of injectables. Stay tuned for updates on how the trip goes. And check out the 4AllFamily products at 4allfamily.com!

Thank you for posting this, man. I don't need to keep any meds cold, but know several folks who do. Will be sharing this with them.
Nice Army patch you got there
Thank you so much Percy for your willingness to share your genuine opinion with your audience about this very important topic of keeping meds at the right temperature. We watched the video until the end and we cannot wait to watch your upcoming uploads in the next few weeks! 😀 Lastly this is for all the people that watch this video and are planning to buy any of the coolers that Percy suggested: Please make sure to follow these steps each time you insert the Biogel Pack in the freezer, and after you take it out. Before you insert the Biogel in the freezer, make sure to shake it up and down so the Gel inside is not concentrated in one area. Freeze the blue gel (Biogel Ice Pack) for a minimum of 6+ hours in advance, if you want, you can leave it in the freezer. When you want to use it, take it out of the freezer and put it in lukewarm water for 2-3 minutes before use, so the Biogel-Ice Pack reaches its own minimum temperature of 36°F/2°C and doesn't carry the temperature of the freezer in which you froze it up. These are the proper steps to freeze and use the Biogel Ice-Pack. If you have any questions please leave a comment on this video or reach out directly to us on our website, and we will be happy to help you in regards to our products. Thank you once again Percy, we wish you a safe and beautiful trip! 🙌🥂
Not a diabetic, but I had some meds years ago that had to be kept cool when traveling. I ended up buying a 12v cooler/warmer that I kept in the car, plus had an adapter that I could bring in to a hotel if there was no fridge available/broken fridge situations. This would have been more ideal.
Now he has a horizontal saddlebag. That’s guaranteed not to solve his storage problem.😂
25k+ miles and 30 states later, I can assure you this was a great choice and has been exactly what I needed. YMMV
Wayyyyy too expensive for me as a PORG (poor old retired guy).
Oh my God I can’t believe you took your mask off. That coffee is gonna give you Covid. Are you out of your mind? Put it back on man get your 12 booster shot immediately.
Nice rundown of your experience so far. Glad that your happy with your new setup
I don't use the HD navigation...period. I use Google Maps on my Android. Occasionally I might use another app like Waze or Rever. I considered going in the Soundstream direction, but then I talked to the folks with Soundz and changed my mind.
Congratulations and thank you for stressing the customer service part of this experience. That carries a lot of weight with me as well. I'm looking forward to hearing this in person. May end up being an expensive experience as I have been thinking about an overhaul on my current setup.
I’ve got a feeling you’ll be jumping on this after we get together and you see/hear it. See you out west! Ride safe!! ✌🏻
@@withPercy you got it! Enjoy your ride as well
I have the same system. The worst is when that alarm goes off though my cardo! So loud. Glad to see this series, I am taking notes.
Yeah, that alarm can be pretty jarring, for sure! Took me a bit to get used to it when I’m riding. But that gives me a little bit of motivation to not eat something that’s I think is going to set it off when I stop for gas and start eyeing the stuff I shouldn’t be eating. 🤣
My biggest issue is not eating. My numbers crash, but I still feel good.
Great video Dave can’t wait to see what you think after you put it through it’s paces 👍🏻🇦🇺
Thanks! My first impressions on my ride home video drops tomorrow morning. I'm heading out Friday on a 5 week trip and will be dropping some videos while I'm on the road about my experience and different aspects of the head unit. Let me know if there's anything that you're specifically interested in and I'll address it in the videos.
@@withPercy I am still waiting on the delivery of mine so I have no real question as yet. But as someone who had a WHIM jumper installed so I can use CarPlay and with Cardo Edge Headset the biggest hassle is the switching from CarPlay to Edge issues and no way to rectify using the toggles. Have to touch the phone which is cumbersome and not real safe. My whole reason for the V2 is for the connectivity and control of the headset. The rest of the amps and speakers was me going overboard..🤣🤣
Still like it? How much weight did you save?
I do! After about 13k miles, it still looks brand new and I haven't experienced any issues. I don't recall the weight difference. But it is significantly lighter.
How did the RainX do?
I've only been in a light rain so far so I can't tell how effective it is in a downpour yet. But I'm heading out later this week for a 5 week trip and I fully expect that I'm going to get drenched at some point. ⛈️ 😂 I'll post an update after that happens. I will say that I was in a situation last week in the mountains where I would have expected the visor to fog a bit. It did not. So I'm pretty sure that the Cat Crap is effective.
You’re gonna go broke! 😂😂😂
😂🤑😂 This was the last thing on my bike build! She's finished and I can just kick back and enjoy the ride now!
@@withPercy yeah yeah…. We’ll see!
Girl, I'm retired, eating kids meals, and staying at low end hotels when I travel. Bought the V2 before I retired. I'm done with the bike. 😂
I gave up on all of it. I run google maps on my phone and listen to music in my helmet via Cardo. I will use the onboard nav to get me home on occasion and I do like the gas station/ Harley dealer option. Occasionally we will not have cell signal and it comes in handy... I can't justify the cost of the SoundStream right now. Pre Harley, I always used the aforementioned set up so it works for me for now. Please do a video once you get it installed and give your thoughts. I am curious. 2022 Road Glide Special
I’m actually at my desk right now editing a first impression video that I shot on the way home. That video will drop Tuesday morning. Let me know after you watch that if there are any specific things you want to see or know about. I’ll like be dropping 1 video a week ok the V2 while I’m riding out to Wyoming and back starting next week.
Yep. That's what I do too
Jay - You'll be ordering a V2 as soon as you see my bike at FDBM! 😂
Nice rig and they make wrinkle black heat guards for the stock replacements : I am going with the short Vance and Hines 2into 1 high output pcx black .see what that sounds like so I can put pipe slide gaurds in the back in case of a crash . 👍🏻
Great video! Nice to see how a seasoned traveler does the packing. Looking for similar packing cubes now! Thanks
Hello sir, would you know what torque would I need on the bolts with CJ 2 inches risers ?
Looks half a salad tong to me.
Tell Memphis Shades that they need to add the option to have the black hardware for the Ghost Hand Guards Anyone with black handlebars and controls is going to want the black hardware I would have bought these today if the black hardware was available
Good strategy with the double-sided packing cubes, especially for managing the clean /dirty clothing.
Thanks. It’s worked well for me for a long time. Whether it’s travel on a bike or otherwise.
Meh, I like the black ones better
I think you'll change your mind when you get back home from your adventures with Dracula and see the bike in person. Hopefully during the day. In the sunlight. Unless it's too late and you can only come out at night. 🤣 🧛🏻♀️
Do you think the bottom two straps from Ciro would hold it? I run a chopped tour pack with no luggage rack. Interested in the bag but want to make sure it’ll work as a backseat bag secured to the quick connect points. Thanks!
I think that would work ok. I ended up putting the 2 rokstraps up top to my luggage rack because as I shifted my body around while leaning on the bag the top moved a bit. But it was not going to come off the bike.
It is a little toasty. To be fully transparent lol. I think thats a good idea and will not mess with the lines of the bike to much. Gotta keep those clean. Ride Safe!
Thanks. They really disappear when looking at the bike from a distance and that's what I really like about them. Gives me the look I want with the bike but still provides the protection.
will there be an updated video of how to setup the LAV mics?
They look way better never really liked the black ones but I like the idea. I think I’ll try them. Can’t wait to see what you think of the V2. I’m waiting for my whole kit to arrive as well. Won’t have the luxury of volunteer audio installing mine, I’ll be doing that myself , Six speaker amp and head unit. Can’t wait for the boom to be gone great video.👍🏻🇦🇺
Thanks. And that system you're doing sounds as if it's going to be amazing! Let me know if there's any info you need on the V2 or install. My install is the evening of 1 Jul.
Pretty slick on your ride. Nice touch and pretty unique
Thanks! I like 'em!
Aren’t these 1,000 times better? Looks great 👍🏻 When order the ghost plastic you can request the black hardware just an FYI (have to send them an email / DM with your order number). That’s what I did for both sets I had.
I think they look super nice. Glad I saw your video! I didn't even know they had started offering these in the Ghost finish. BTW... THANKS FOR THE COFFEE!!! 🎉 ☕️ ✌🏼
@@withPercy your welcome my friend. Have a safe trip on your next leg of the tour.
New head unit? Hmm. I wonder if you could squeeze a stinger heigh10 into a road glide.
Those Stingers are pretty darned big. I'm going with something made specifically for the fairing that has an edge-to-edge screen. Instead of that cropped crap that HD did. 1 week to go before I have it installed!
@@withPercy they are MASSIVE. But impressive.
Sounds more authentic with the pipe sounds and MUCH clearer!
What a great video! So heartwarming, they were surprised!! Cool pics at the end, looks like you had tons of fun
You're welcome and glad you got to enjoy some coffee with the family. Cheers, see you in SD.
Cool-looking place! London always has unique and interesting places to experience!!! Thanks for sharing the Family surprise reunion!!!
Can you still listen to music while connected to the go pro?
By chance did you measure exactly how much closer these are to the grips on 1 compared to the stock ones I think they look beautiful on your bike.
🤔🤔🤔
💯💯💯
Nice work glad you made it out of there safely. I have the same transition visor that you do and have been using RainX plastic. It works well. Gotta say I’ve never cleaned it with the isopropyl. I’ll need to do that and do the application the same as you did, I will give the cat crap a crack as well, thanks Dave 👍🏻🇦🇺
looks like you were riding in the southern tier around Franklinville
Cat Crap sounds like a joke at first but when you realize that it is actually "a thing" and that it works (mostly), it is no laughing matter. We use this on our job site to help reduce the fogging in our safety glasses. While it's not 100 percent full proof, it is 100 x's better than not having it at all. Nice work getting out of that stormy situation my friend
I had to google it too, never heard of it before 😅
Thank you for sharing
Of umpteen videos I watched for this light, this is the first one where they don't have them strobing and you can actually see the brake light color, function and brightness. Thank you! That was what I needed!
Very happy to hear the video helped you! Thanks for watching!!
seems a king tour pack (removable) wouldn't be any more ugly than all that luggage hanging off your fender. Good luck replacing all that capacity with a chopped pack
You should hook up with the Great American Convoy 2.0.
Yeah. Was talking to Adam about that last month. I start my tour heading west on 12 July. Am going to link up if the timing/route works out.
I strapped mine down very similar. Only I just used the two Rock straps that I had bought. And I did the same thing though, Criss-Cross inside the outer pouch. But on my Kawasaki voyager, I actually had to go down to the frame, just above the rear tire on both sides, to hook my straps onto. Did not have anything on the very top holding it down because I don't have a luggage rack on my trunk. But even just those two cris cross definitely gave a lot of support. And I actually put my rain gear bag in that pouch to do the same as you. Give me lumbar support and a good backrest
What do they say about great minds? 😂
I definitely love my bag. I just did two weeks in Tennessee and had no problem packing everything into the bag. And I still had quite a bit of space that I had folded the bag into. So I definitely could easily pack for 5 weeks
I just back from my trip last weekend and my after trip video on the bag drops on the channel tomorrow morning.
Nice, thorough review. One of the best features of this bag, for me, is that each strap on the bag has velcro ends to help secure excess strap lengths from flapping around in the wind. I can’t stand having to manage excess strap ends when packing most bags for motorcycle trips.
Yeah, I definitely like that feature as well. I just back from my trip last weekend and my after trip video on the bag drops on the channel tomorrow morning.
@@withPercywill definitely check out the new video. Rode with the bag for the first time over Memorial Day weekend and really enjoyed it. Thank you, too, for the tips about the smaller bags for clothing management. Will try that out when I hit the road for a 12-day swing through the desert SW and Rockies in a couple weeks.
What’s that brake lever set up and model number ? And also what’s the foot pegs ? I want do mine before I ride it . Just got a 2023 version
Unfortunately, from what I understand, that brake lever is no longer available. People ask me about it all the time. It was a Harley part. The Mini-boards are from Joker Machine. If you search my channel, you’ll find a couple of videos that I did on them. Including ordering the correct part and how to install and adjust them.
