In this video of the Riding with Diabetes series, I want to talk about a solution that I found for keeping our injectables cooled, even while touring for multiple weeks. Please make sure to follow these steps each time you insert the Biogel Pack in the freezer, and after you take it out. Before you insert the Biogel in the freezer, make sure to shake it up and down so the Gel inside is not concentrated in one area.
Freeze the blue gel (Biogel Ice Pack) for a minimum of 6+ hours in advance, if you want, you can leave it in the freezer.
When you want to use it, take it out of the freezer and put it in lukewarm water for 2-3 minutes before use, so the Biogel-Ice Pack reaches its own minimum temperature of 36°F/2°C and doesn't carry the temperature of the freezer in which you froze it up.

Not a diabetic, but I had some meds years ago that had to be kept cool when traveling. I ended up buying a 12v cooler/warmer that I kept in the car, plus had an adapter that I could bring in to a hotel if there was no fridge available/broken fridge situations. This would have been more ideal.
