      Also I agree, for the money the heated and quick-shifter should have been included. The quick-shifter has made getting off the light so much better. Two clicks up and I'm at 80 mph

      I HAVE PURCHASED A 2021 ROCKET GT I INSTALLED A POWER BRONZE WINDSHIELD THAT IS PHENOMENAL YOU GET 3SCREEN AND A VARiABLE MOUNT that can raise or lower any of the 3 included shields meaning any rider of any size will find happiness with wind control kudo to powerbronze.
      however I have a major beef with triumph for something underhanded the GT model which I purchased has the footpegs far forward and out in the open these pegs are bolted into the engine lower casings and when or if you fall at any speed, disaster will occur as it did on me. they will break r off and will do damage to the shifting of gears as it did on me when I was pushed over in a slow trafic situation the engine casings are very brittle and the shifting drum inside was bent somehow .upon inspection I was deemed by a triumph dealer where I purchased the bike to be a write-off thats with 14000miles on the clock some paint serapes, bent mirrors and footshifter sheared righ off the block it should not be
      I hope to with a millwright to fix the shifting drum inside the lowercase where the problem occured and get it back on the road but for the sake of look triumph did not consider metal protection for the foot shifter on the left side, the bike was stuck in second gear and no matter what it remained stuck.lost a season and hope 2024 will see the end of the tunnel

    I'm not surprised your fuel consumption is so high !!. Did you know it's got a 6 speed transmission ? i never saw you get above 4th gear, you had a fantastic long straight road in front of you and you just sat in 4th, use 5th and 6th gears and you'll get more mpg. I've got the Rocket 3 GT and on a good long trip i've averaged over 50 mpg, and i've never seen less than 35 mpg around town.

    The whole point of this bike is to keep it low revving, and with wind protection, it would look like a Goldwing or at least any other tourer and lose all its personality. I don't mind the wind at all its why I ride, instead of driving a car!

    I never needed a screen on my B-King. I like low-revving engines. Change up and you'll get better MPG. Not so keen on the gauge cluster, either, but I wouldn't want more tech built in. I think the price is reasonable for what you get compared to other brands. Harley-Davidson springs to mind.

    I have a 2020 Rocket GT with a quickshifter and this bike is something else i bought it because you dont see it often on the road i like to be different i like the fact that people stop and talk to me about my bike always fun, 2500cc or in Harley numbers its a 153 cubic inches motor even the new 2023 CVO are 121 ci so my bike is still far ahead in this category and i like to mention those number to all my Harley friend lol, and the torque baby is where the fun reside, so much torque and power at all rev range its mind blowing. The GT have little windshield that the R model dont have and its help greatly for me but i like having the wind on me i dont mind its why i ride motorcycle, the only thing that i dont like about my Rocket its when i put fuel in it trying to fill her up to the lips is a challenge i spill gaz and its slash on the right side cylinder and make a mess of it its hard to clean trust me.

    Good review. I’ve seen the other two reviews on first ride and pros, so this is good information. Net Net: brilliant bike. Windscreen - that’s a tough one. I think the GT fly screen is a must and perhaps just a tad bit more. On the extreme, I’ve seen a GT with a huge windscreen, ala Gold Wing, and it looked horrible. In terms of the clock, it’s like a little head on a body builder - dual clocks like on the Thruxton RS could look good. Options - totally agree - shift assist, heated handle bars and TPS. In terms of Revs and MPG - not an issue.

    • @FifthNorth
      @FifthNorth  Před 11 měsíci

      Thanks for the comment and I appreciate you watching the other videos! Yeah overall a brilliant bike, just a few things keeping it from being perfect. And yes exactly spot on with the little head on a body builder comment!

  • @ichbinmartin
    @ichbinmartin Před 11 měsíci +3

    I removed the windscreen from my GT, because it looks ugly. And no problems to 150-160km/h. Btw, every windscreen looks ugly.
    Low-revolution engine is absolutely great. I don't like the screaming high-rev engines with huge power gaps.
    Consumption is as is. On long trips I have 6.5l/100km, in the city 8l/100km. Tank could be 5 liters larger.
    Gauge cluster looks strange, even it is perfectly clear and informative. I would prefer digital 2-gauges to correspond with headlights.
    GT has heated grips, I think, cruise control is be default also on R (in EU surely). Optional is quickshifter and bluetooth connection, but who needs it? I don't miss it.

    • @FifthNorth
      @FifthNorth  Před 11 měsíci

      I agree that the gauge cluster could have looked really good by matching the headlights, good point, and yeah a bigger tank would have been welcomed too. Thanks for watching!

    I own a roadster rocket 3 2013 and I was just curious how much different the new one is compared to the one i have. Honestly I wasn't impressed ,of course they want to make the bike lighter in weight but damn some parts look and feel really cheap in the quality ,the engine did made an uncomfortable vibration before shifting into the next gear. The suspension was hard and not comfortable especially going over a railway. The gauge cluster looks like an eye what is looking at you all the time ,literally doesn't fit to the bike at all. My impression is they went from an unbreakable heavy duty bike made out of steel and chrome for long rides to a kind of city cruiser for almost twice the price. Also another thing is if you need parts you're waiting months to get them here in Canada. I love my bike and its been treating me very well ,riding the new one made me loving my old one even more so. But of course everyone has different priorities and opinions but I just couldn't see the value for the price you pay for the bike.

      Never said I bought the bike…I review bikes, this bike was loaned to me by Triumph, if you watch the entire series of videos that I made on the Rocket 3 you can see where I explain that I think it’s a great bike but that it isn’t quite my style, that I like it, but probably wouldn’t spend my money on it because I prefer a high reving bike. Thanks for watching, cheers.

    I can't believe you're only getting 17 to 24 miles a gallon there's something definitely wrong. Even with me beating up the throttle I'll get a minimum of 30mpg and if I cruise with a passenger and I cruise no more than 65 miles an hour, mostly 45 to 55 out in the country I'll get 35 miles to the gallon. Both of us win a total of

      Mine was mostly urban/city riding with some backside country (lots of stop and go) plus I was very throttle heavy. Im sure I could have gotten better mileage if I payed attention and also did more highway.

    • @TheTyrone1981
      @TheTyrone1981 Před rokem +2

      I was going to ask what kind of riding you do. My 2020 rocket I consistently average 40 mpg for my work commute. Mostly highway but my cruising speeds are between 80-90 mph. Not very fuel efficient cruising speeds but for what it is I think 40 mpg a at those speeds is pretty good. 70-75 mph is a good sweet spot for low to mid 40s. 80 and above the mpg drop significantly. On a road trip to sturgis one tank I got 207 miles and I still had another 30 miles before empty. That tank worked out to 51.7 mpg. That was straight 65-70 mph cruising for that 200 mile stretch so they’re capable of decent fuel mileage if you’re easier on the throttle

  • @R3RLEE

    The answer to wind protection is buy a Harley..This bike isn't about cruising although you can cruise on it.
    But isn't cruising going under 75 mph?
    It does what it was built to do...l get 35 to 40 mpg out of mine....fact is if you want all these things you dont like here then dont buy a triumph get a wing or a busa.
