    I’m the bleary-eyed fellow yakking with Jay. Thanks to everyone for watching. This was an incredible experience. I wish we could have delved into some of the more technical aspects of the bike, but I’m so happy the feel of it translated. It truly is a remarkable machine. Thank you as well to Jay and his amazing team. Exploring the garage never fails to take away my breath.

      I was so impressed with this engine when it first came out and always felt it never achieved the success it deserved, it's great to see Triumph is still working on it and now it seems more tempting than ever. Have you guys ever considered using this engine in a go cart or mini car, I thought it had potential to create it's own class perhaps track only. If I had some extra money burning a hole in my pocket I'd by the bike Jay rode.

    I bought one of the limited edition TFC versions. I had one of the older Rocket 3's previously (plus a T120 and a couple of Harleys) and just love this bike more than anything. It handles so much better than the previous version and, as Jay says, it stops really well when you consider its weight. The weight is low down so its dead easy to balance. I love mine. Its number 448 out of only 750 made and the TFC edition is slightly different from both the ones on Jay's show. The finishes are amazing. It has so much torque that 1st and 2nd are almost unnecessary. It is an incredible piece of engineering. Like Jay I am also getting a bit old for Café Racer positions. This is ideal for me. I love it. It's like taking a big, happy puppy out for a walk (well maybe a bit more challenging than that).

  • @Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy

    Every time I watch a Leno's Garage episode, I'm reminded of my dad, who got me into motorcycles and absolutely loved watching Jay's channel as well as the tonight show. He was a car guy too and passed away with 13 project cars, after just completing his dream garage. His garage had a bathroom, air conditioning, about as much shelving for parts as an Autozone warehouse, and four brand new hydraulic lifts. Sad to see he really didn't get to work on the cars in his new dream garage, but he told me before that for him the fun was in the project itself, not the completion of it, so because of that I've got to think he really enjoyed himself building that garage that took years. Sometimes the anticipation is better than the final result. I kept his American Graffiti '32 Ford Coupe to finish myself because it was the star of his garage and his favorite I think. I will take it to cruises in tribute to my dad.

    2.5 liters! Geeeeez! I had a '77 Yamaha 750 3 cylinder. I loved that bike. I really loved the sound it made. My wife and I toured many miles on that bike. After 30 years it was worn. I found a '78 Goldwing with low miles. It does the job. I think of it as heavy and docile. That Triumph at 643 pounds is a relative lightweight, unlike my Goldwing. Nice job, Triumph. Enjoy, Jay!

      @@somegreatbloke You make a good point but age is somewhat subjective. The guy could be in his 40s and looks really young. I'm 37 and people mistake me for being in my 20s all the time. Is 40 even considered old these days? I mean, even the "old white dude" that people would expect to be Triumph's PR guy had to start at some decent age right? Either way, at the price point of this bike you're not going to find twenty-somethings flocking to Triumph to get one just because of this somewhat seemingly young PR guy. I think Triumph is too smart to pull what Harley did. They know better than to piss off the purists.

    Another great bike review from Jay.
    You really cannot beat these new Triumphs, I've had my current one for over five years and after 30+ years of riding bikes, this one is by far the most reliable I've ever owned. John Bloor deserves a Knighthood! I owe a massive debt of gratitude to both him and my dad who gave me his love and passion for motorbikes in the first place.
    Cheers for another great video.

    That was a great review. The bike rep knew his bikes and was a good rep to send to show these bikes. He knew what he was talking about. Also, Jay also had some great imput. I especially like what he said about the Furgeson tractor engine. It was true too. I had a 1953 Furgeson tractor and it did favor the old three cyl bike.

    Jay: Thank you for showcasing the Triumph Rocket 3! Please ride the GT version too. I was all set to purchase the R version, but a test ride on both had me falling in love with the GT. The foot pegs on the GT have four levels of adjustability, so you can have the pegs feet-forward, or in the same position as the R version. Plus the seat on the GT is more comfortable versus the R version.

      I already had two bikes (a 14’ Street Triple and 10’ Aprilia RSV 1000 R) but wanted a brand new cruiser bike that I didn’t have to wrench all the time either and I test rode the GT version and LOVED it. The torque is really indescribable. But at the last minute I decided on a 2018 KTM Super Duke that was in the same dealership. Lol. It’s bonkers torque too. But I know I’ll eventually get a Rocket 3. So comfy too. Ride safe!

    • @BangFarang1
      @BangFarang1 Před 4 lety +6

      The pegs on the GT have only 3 levels of adjustability, not 4. And no one has the same position than the R, it's just to adapt to different rider leg lengths. However, you can get the R pegs installed on the GT as an option.

    Most powerful bikes need to be made to scream to really get that power. This big of an engine has a deep amount of power to be called on at any time in any gear at any rpm.
    This is coming from someone who rides a 600 sport bike. It’s exciting and I love it, but if I had the financial resources this is what I’d throw my leg over. I love making a beautiful bike scream but my bike doesn’t have the range that a bike like this has

The only cool feature missing in stock form is a quick shifter, but that is available from Triumph's accessory catalog. Just watched the episode of the Triumph Rocket. I love that bike! I've never ride one. But I gotta tell you that I have a bike that I just love like crazy. Back in 2017 I saved up in one year's time to purchase a brand new Indian Vintage painted Willow Green/Ivory Cream. Beautiful bike that's modern technology but classic looks. Buuuut when I pulled up to the dealership to see if my bike was in, I saw a bike sitting outside against the windows on display in the back row that made me stop in my tracks! So Dave the salesman saw me outside and came out and said, Hey Tony we have your bike inside. Just came in!" I replied back with a ho hum answer back like "Hmm...thanks....but what the heck is this!?!" He said, Oh... that's called a Rune"! I said, "What's a Rune"?! He told me they're rare and that you just never see em on the road. Well now that I've blabbed on long enough here, I didn't get the Indian Vintage. I ended up buying the Rune! I love it! I ride it often and get double takes EVERYWHERE I go! Phones come out to take pictures. When I am putting gas in it people walk over and ask what it is and say how beautiful of a bike it is. Mine is the Maroon color and is the Chromed Wheel version. Most of them had polished wheels. They Chromed just a handful of the bikes wheels. My understanding is that Tom Hanks has or had one. But I've only seen it a couple times on the road of other people riding one. But luckily I get to see one every day. Anyway there's my story. Hope you like it.
