This is the longest video that I have created for CZcams. I have produced some much longer documentaries for work but nothing this long for CZcams. It also took be a long time to edit this thing. I have soooo much broll from my Osmo Pocket that I had to go through all my footage. Anyways it was a fun video to work on and I hope you enjoy it. DD
Red Arrow Media As someone said, “re-invigorates my desire to use this camera more”. Great video and very useful information. Subscribed and liked. Cheers
Thank you
I just watched your hiking and vlogging video. I really do like the pocket, I need to use it more. I appreciate the video.
Great stuff! When you slow down those shots in post, what percentage or frame rate are you lowering it down to?
You did a nice job!
I just got mine and was a bit frustrated at first since it was a bit of a hassle having to activate the device. The iPhone adapter was a bit kooky. I did my first motion lapse today of the sunset. Love it! Great Video!!
Ya I do not know why they make it so difficult to activate the device, especially since we are so excited to opening it up and try it, but then you have to go through hoops. This is great for Motionlapses, such a cool feature. Thanks for the comment, I hope you have fun with the Osmo Pocket.
@@DavidDavies I went out on a field test yesterday. I'm combining footage with stuff I filmed on iPhone 11 and Oslo mobile 3 gimbal. Great gadgets bro!! Thanks for the awesome tips. when I edit everything ill send you a link
thanks for the video. I agree with the motionlapse, pretty cool to have that feature in such a small camera. The battery issue will come to a head at some point. cheers.
Love your vlogs, to the point, easily described and informative. Thanks, I have tried your tips with my DJI, keep em coming. Thanks👍👍🙏
Hey bud, I have watched a TON of osmo pocket videos over the months, and I appreciate that you just discuss the points and demonstrate the results, avoiding the deep dive into the settings. Great engaging video and I look forward to more.
Thank you very much for the comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I have a lot of fun using the Osmo Pocket and I enjoy making these videos. Thanks again, I appreciate it.
Thanks so much for this video. I was looking at the pocket for two reasons. First, an upcoming Disney World trip and second, I do a lot of outdoor activities that I want to record. Your real life experience sold me and your tips will help me get the most out of the camera early on. Thanks again!
Thanks for the note. You are going to love it for Disney. You will capture some great memories and you won't have to carry a big camera around. Have fun.
I love the way you explain
great video. Reinvigorates my relationship with this camera. Thx!!
Thanks. It is such a fun little camera to use. Have fun shooting!
Thank you! Can’t wait to get my hands on this
It's a great little camera.
Great video, thanks.
Thanks for the great video, we our new to this camera and so much to learn but love it so far !
Thanks. I hope you enjoy the camera!
I bought myself a 2nd hand Pocket a couple of days ago, looking forward to using it. Thanks for the useful information in this video, hopefully your advice will help me get some good results! 🙂
Thank you so much for this. I just bought my Pocket and I am trying to absorb all the information I can.
Hey congrats on the new camera William. The info online can be overwhelming. Just take the camera out and play with it , make lots of mistakes and you will figure out what works for you. Any questions feel free to ask. Take Care
Great video! Made me think about switching from my Smartphone + Osmo Mobile 3 combo to Osmo Pocket.. i like the good quality to convenience ratio.
Wow! This is an awesome video! Well done!
Great review!! Thanks
Very informative video will help a lot of users to make a buying decisions.

My favourite camera it’s awesome. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Ya it is fun!
This was helpful. I've been vlogging daily everyday with my Osmo and I've really enjoyed it. This video provided some helpful insights as well. Thanks! :)
Hi there, glad you enjoyed the video. The Osmo Pocket is really a great camera for vlogging. If you can get the audio sounding good, it's almost a perfect, simple set up. Good luck.
Great video thanks
It is so informative and will apply it on my Pocket 2. Already subscribed your channel. 😎
Great video … I just got mine and it's a bit intimidating for such a tiny thing 😬. Your vid makes me much more confident about just getting out there with it. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment. Congrats on the new camera. It can be a bit intimidating, but the key is just to try new things with it. You'll figure it out quickly. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing! Great video. I enjoyed your tips.
Thanks for the note. Glad you enjoyed the tips.
Thanks so much for this great and in-depth review. Between you and Gavin Hardcastle, I think I’m convinced to get one to film my CZcams channel. Excellent review and commentary.
Thanks James for the nice comment, I appreciate it. The Osmo Pocket is really a great little camera. Good luck with it.

Heads up… got the Rode Goii wonderful with our osmo pocket2… mounted a cold shoe on the bottom of the pocket. Transmitter slide right in. Boom. Audio tracks can be separated too.

excellent video - left you a thumb up rating. i just ordered my dji osmo pocket and wanted to get a heads up introduction to what it can do. thank you for your video and stay safe.
Hi Tamara, thank you for your comment. Congrats on your Osmo Pocket purchase. You are going to love it. If you have any questions just let me know.
Randomly stumbled across your video & gotta say, great job on this, you deserve a lot more followers. Thanks for the tips my friend!! Keep up the content
Thanks for the kind comments. I appreciate it.
I watched this video and the disney one. Wow your kids were so excited and happy to be there. It has been years since I went and it was nice to revist with you. You did a great job on this video about the pocket. I bet you could do a superb video on how to properly use the pro mode. Waiting :)
Thanks for the kind words Elliot. I really enjoyed making this video and the Disney Video. Funny story about the Disney video, on the first day, first ride we went on the Slinky Dog Dash Rollercoaster at Hollywood Studios. It was a fun ride and my daughter was so excited to try it. Well it turned out the ride was a bit too fast for her. It scared her a bit and she was scared to go on any faster rides while at Disney. She still had a blast but we should have started with a tamer ride :) I like your idea about the pro mode on the Osmo Pocket...
Thorough and well done!
Thanks Jim, I appreciate it.
I liked your video, very useful tips. I havent tried the hyper lapse yet but I will have to try it. I also liked your nd filter video. thanks.
Thanks. The hyperlapse is fun. You should play with the settings to get the exact set up you like. Good luck.
Thanks unlce!
Awesome video. Stop saying you ain't beautiful. You are Awesome 👍
thank u so much for sharing all the infos....just gotone this month... i feel u when u said here in canada people looking at u ..i used to have a osmo mobile2 and i used it during my sons pre-k presentation.. the first thing that the co parent ask... are u blogger..LOL ..i love this osmo pocket coz it so handy for a parent like me...
Good for you. Hopefully you love the camera. It's a lot of fun to use. Good luck.
Just got our Osmo Pocket yesterday, got up early and did a timelapse of our local beach sunrise. Love this device already. Thank you for a great video really enjoyed your advice, learnt a heap. Fanny Pack 😂 we call them bum bags in Australia.
Bun bags! Another reason I love Australians. Glad you liked the video, have fun with the pocket. One of my favourite things about the Osmo Pocket is the Motionlapse feature, so much fun. Ha e fun with it.
The footage here looks really great. You're obviously very well practiced with this camera.
Thanks for the kind words. I do practice a lot with this camera. I edited out all my bad shots. There were a lot of bad shots as well 😆
Brother I just gotta tell you, I really enjoy listening to you talk! Subscribed!
Thanks man I appreciate it. I'm going to check out your channel right now.
@@DavidDavies thanks man! I do some vlogging but mostly music stuff!
Thank you just got one could not afford 2 but got 1 thank you
The original OSMO pocket is still a pretty good camera. enjoy!
Great video my friend
Great video mate. Well done.
Thanks I appreciate it.
thank you
thank you
Looking forward you using some of your tips. You have a new subscriber.
thanks, I appreciate it. I enjoy your content as well. I was happy to subscribe.
I have subscribed your channel 🔥
Thanks for the review. Are you familiar with the FIMI PALM? I just came across it and debating between the two.
I recognize a lot of these locations. You must be in Eastern Ontario and love shooting the Rideau like me. Thanks for the great content.
Yep I'm up in Ottawa. I love shooting on the Rideau. I just got the Mavic Mini and I've been shooting plenty of video on the Rideau. Such a beautiful place. Thanks for the comment.
Nice vid! I’ve been waiting and hoping they’ll put out the next iteration in 2020. I believe I would get way more footage if I only had to use the Osmo Pocket instead of a full bag of gear.
Thanks for the note. I agree, if they just make the quality a bit better this would be the ultimate grab and go camera. I still enjoy it and it is always in my camera bag.
New sub here....Great video...Great information....I bought one of these to use in the casinos to record my slot machine play
I figure the small size wouldn't draw much attention and it would smooth out my videos....Thanks for the great content!!!
Thanks for the note Richard. Good luck with the camera.
Great video! Keep creating great content! :-)
Thanks Mark, I appreciate it.
Top video and good tips 👏 i have the Osmo Pocket only for holiday because of its size 😉 our both channels have definitely too less subscribers, so I subscribed to your channel 💪🏼 FILMMAKING IS MY PASSION too 🎬 best cinematic greetings from germany 🇩🇪
Thanks for the comment. The Osmo Pocket is great for holidays. I checked out your channel and I subscribed. Good luck.
Red Arrow Media thanks 🙏 we stay in contact 👌😊
On your motion lapse with the boat did you shoot it then reverse the shot so that it looks like you are going forward then going backwards?
i use hyperlapse for skateboarding!
found you on CZcams Creators, I am looking into getting a new camera so I will watch more of your videos.😀
Thanks for the comment. It is a great little camera. If you have any questions just let me know. Take care.
Subscribed 👍
thanks for sharing and i learned a lot.. but i haven´t use my Osmo yet due to the weather..it´s winter time and the sun doesn´t show up..waiting for a good weather
Thanks for the note. I know what you mean. Winter is starting here as well so it harder to get out and shoot with the Osmo Pocket. I did use it several times last year in the winter. Much easier in the summer. Good luck.
@@DavidDavies thanks ..but good news its a miracle Mr Sunshine is out..yey am so excited today...8am here and sun is shining..Thanks God
Great review, I agree re 4k looks great but cannot use on my laptop or pc.I have tried using camera on its own but in sunshine outdoors and small screen find it difficult to see what i am doing ..your very personable and engaging will look out for future videos :)
Thanks for the comment Will. I use premiere pro for editing. I find if I create proxy files of the 4K footage then it works well, but it's still a pain :) I need to upgrade my computer. Thanks.
@Synysha I don't use Filmora so I'm not sure, I would imagine you can. The key no matter your editing software, will be if you computer can handle 4k video files. Good luck.
@Synysha your computer sounds a lot better than my home computer :) how many gigs of ram does it have? If you have 16 gigs or more you should be good.
Awesome video. Thanks. What’s the brand of ND do you like? Thanks 🙏🏼. What number of ND do you have?
Thanks, I am currently using Freewell filters, they work really well. Previously I used a set from Polar Pro and they worked well.
*The best camera is the one you use more often!*
Thanks for the information love the branding you have red arrow. Nice content you have a new supporter I look forward to to seeing more #DaymonWarren Stay Awesome and Stay hydrated and stay connected your friend DW
Thanks Daymon, I really appreciate it. I like your content as well. Thanks.
Great video--thanks! Have you tried the Freewell or other wide angle lens? That might be a better option than the selfie-stick. Thanks again and I just subscribed!
Hey Craig, thanks for the comment. I haven't tried the wide angle lens yet, but I am curious to really see if there is any quality loss. I don't really like using the selfie stick, so the wide angle Lens would really help. Thanks for subscribing. Take care.
@@DavidDavies According to "The Hybrid Shooter" (CZcams Channel) in his "One Year DJI Osmo Pocket Review," there is very little distortion or lack of resolution with the Freewell wide angle attachment. Of course, YMMD.
@@craigw.scribner6490 okay sounds good. I will have to a look at it. Might take a while to get it shipped :) Perhaps I will do a video on it. Thanks Craig, take care.
make video recording tutorial and upload it on udemy or similar website. you are a great cameraman and surely gonna provide something amazing.
Anybody know how to AE lock using Osmo Pocket without phone?
thank you for these tips! I haven't been able to find a way to shoot at 120 fps. how do you get there?
Hi Kim. I have not updated the latest firmware for the camera but the 120 fps feature is the Slo-mo feature. Basically it is set to record at 120 fps in that mode. It does a pretty good job but it crops the image in slo-mo mode and it it struggles in low light in that mode as well. Great if you are shooting outdoors in slo-mo.
oh alright, thank you! 😊
This guys kind of funny!
I like your logo stickers, how do they hold up on your gear? Use a sticker company? Or make them yourself? Awesome video, do I hear a Canadian accent?
I am Canadian...sorry bout that! I actually make those stickers with a Cricut machine. The are made out of sign vinyl and they work really well.
@@DavidDavies I knew I heard the Canadian accent, I’m from Northern Ontario :) thanks for the info, gonna label my gear the same out here in Vegas! Cheers, love the videos
I love the leather Case,is it aviable to order somewhere?
First of all thank you for not calling it a "fanny pack" and second of all you can buy it on Amazon from a company called Mega Gear. Good luck.
Red Arrow Media thank you 🙏🏻
“It’s NOT a fanny pack” 🤣🤣 nice video. I just purchased this camera. What is your fav setting for motion lapse? 2s?5s?
Thanks for saying it is NOT a fanny pack :) As far as motionlapse settings goes, depending on your firmware, I like to shoot the shortest interval possible. So 2s would be great. I believe it will make a larger file but that's not too bad. Good luck with the camera.
Where did you get the leather pouch? I couldn't find it?
Hey Lee, it's from a company called Mega Gear. I bought found it on Amazon. Good luck.
What is the brand of the bracket you use for holding you OP for a tripod? It looks like Sunny????
Hi Peter, yes it is the Sunny tripod mount. It has worked great for me but it's not perfect. Mine is a really tight fit but there's still a chance the Osmo Pocket could fall out. So far so good.
Thanks! Hard to find but I tracked them down on eBay. www.ebay.com/itm/Multifunctional-Expanding-1-4-Screw-Adapter-Mount-Stand-For-DJI-OSMO-POCKET/202547958133
Thx info ,got a brand new osmo pocket for Christmas, will take out and practice like you said . Subscribed now, and how do find the case lust like yours . Thx
You are wrong on one aspect. DJI will replace batteries at a reasonable price. It may vary for postage depending on where you live but the battery replacement price itself is not that bad. It's worth getting in touch with DJI to find out. You will be surprised.
Ok thanks for the info. That's great if you can replace the Osmo Pocket battery. I use mine so often that I am constantly recharging it. Thanks.
@@DavidDavies The back of the Osmo Pocket does come off but you can't replace the battery yourself as DJI have put a firmware block on changing batteries that they need to add to when they change them. Other than that it is one of the cheapest refurbishments they do. Just contact DI support when you need it done. The battery itself is a fairly standard Li-po battery setup but getting the back off of the Osmo Pocket without damaging it is possibly why DJI took this route to prevent non authorised repairs. With care, a battery should just exceed 500 recharges.
Hi Red, do you have any issues with using an external mic? Just the sound is poor even when I use the recommended connector and mic!!
Hi Keith, I do use an external lav microphone when I use the Osmo Pocket. I have no issues, I am able to sync the video and audio very easily in Premiere Pro. I have not tried the mic adapter for the Osmo Pocket yet, I have heard that there are issues with it. I did purchase the mic adapter but it hasn't shipped yet. I would prefer to use the adapter so that my video and audio is already synced. Hopefully I will test it soon. What mic are you using with the Osmo Pocket?
Hi red
I use the recommended rode mic and the dji adaptor. Sound is very quiet and is worse than if I don't use a mic at all!!
I contacted dji and they want me to return the pocket but at my cost. Also if they don't find anything wrong with it then I'm not too sure what'll happen!
I am experimenting with different connectors and settings on the pocket.
I'll let you know how I get on.
It's a gorgeous camera and I love using it. Actually, I am still in the experimental mode at the moment and hoping to get proficient in it soon. The Mic thing is a problem as syncing sound to video can be quite time consuming.
Sorry to hear you have to return it, especially at your cost. Hopefully they can fix it and you will get good sound out of your rode mic. Good luck.
Can u tell me the specs of your comp :)
My comp is 24 fps in 1080 P HD, then I upconvert to 4K for CZcams. When I produced this video I wasn't shooting in 4K, now I am.
But, have you ever used this camera in a professional setting. Maybe B roll? Seems that it's way better than the TK47s that I started with ages ago. I'd be interested how you use this professionally.
Yep I have used this professionally. I used it last year when our area had a serious flood. I was shooting on a full size shoulder mounted XD Cam and the large lens had condensation from all the constant moisture. I pulled out the Osmo Pocket, covered it from the rain with my ball cap :) and I got some great broll. That footage was used locally as well as nationally broadcasted as part of the news. There are far better cameras out there for professional use, and using the OP as a main camera is a bit of a pain but as a broll camera i think it's pretty good.
What a pretty lake. Where is that?
It's called Pink Lake...not really sure why it's called that?
My osmo pocket doesn't give me the option for 120 fps although i have the latest firmware update ? 🤔
Slo mode or slow motion should give you 120 fps. It doesn't say 120 fps on the screen but will say 4 x slow, which is 30 fps x 4 to give you 120 fps. At least I believe so...math has never been my friend :)
@@DavidDavies alright thank you so much ❤️
There are wide angel lenses like Freewell and you don't have to stretch your camera using a selfie stick.
I haven't tried the wide angle lens yet. I will give to give it a try. It will help, I have short arms!
Red Arrow Media Here is a video that shows it - czcams.com/video/5R9uGXySKBk/video.html
I think the best part of DJI Osmo pocket is less intimidating to the people.
Totally, it is such a small camera you can use it anywhere. If you use it in a crowd, by the time you are finished getting your shots people are still trying to figure out what you are holding😀
✌️✌️✌️
OK, I have a bone to pick with you.....what is wrong with a fanny :-( They are the safest way to carry stuff when traveling. Just kidding of course, being of age I don't care what people think so I still ware mine. Great video and BTW, you got lucky, you have such cute kids. P.S. how about a link to the leather case, I love it. P.S.S. found it on eBay for $30...nevermind shipped from Turkey, where do you get yours?
Lol, do you work for one of this big fanny pack companies! Glad you found the case. I got mine from Amazon and I believe it was from China. Good luck with it. It is NOT a fanny pack.
Great video! got a sub from me
Thanks Paul, I appreciate it. Glad you liked it.
What's wrong with fanny packs? They are super trendy now. Thanks for the tips!
I have been waiting for this comment! I can see that you are a "Fanny Pack Fan!" I meant no disrespect to the fanny pack. Truth be told I did own and possibly wore a Fanny pack at one point in my life. Thanks for the comment!
@@DavidDavies haha yes I have wore a few myself. I love wearing it to go hiking.
We call them Bum Bags this side of the pond!
Nice leather pack
thanks for not calling it a fanny pack!
Red Arrow Media you know just this morning I had it check and it’s 19.99 $ megagear and I will buy it for my osmo pocket 😆
@@anythinggoeswithart7533 Nice. I really like mine. I find it very convenient. Plus this way I don't scratch up the gimbal in my pocket. I hope you like it.
Bonjour, vous ne parlez pas français par hasard ?
Je parle un peu français mais malheureusement pas assez. J'ai pris le français tout au long de l'école mais j'ai perdu mes compétences en français.
How is the audio? - Dane
Hey Dane. The camera mic audio is okay if you are close to the camera and it is not windy. One problem people have with the Osmo Pocket's internal mic is that you can easily cover the mic with your finger by mistake. I have tried vlogging with the internal mic and it is okay, but I normally use an external mic to record really clean audio with the Osmo Pocket. You can get the mic adapter to hook up an external mic. Hope that helps!
@@DavidDavies Great thanks for the insights. Very interesting. I use a Moza gimbal for a lot of my shots with an iphone 8. It works well but is just a bit to carry. Thanks! - Dane
I have a phone gimbal as well and it works well but I agree with you it is a bit much to carry and can be a hassle to set up. With the Osmo Pocket I just turn it on and I'm good to go. Very convenient. Good luck!
@@DavidDavies Excellent, thanks! - Dane
U r not beautiful... But u are more then that! u are awesome...! 😊
I am sure u r using filters for osmo pocket
osmo pocket battery will drain so fast if attached with phone, i really hate this
Really? I don't use the phone much with the OP so I never noticed. Thanks for the tip.
i had the same say about battery when u connect to the phone. It satrts over heating and the gimbal starts non stop turning..its weird
I think you're beautiful, Gary. I'm just assuming your name is Gary.
Thanks Norman, my name is Dave but you can call me Gary!
why he look like trump ? lol just kidding ,am thanks for this good video
In 2020 you can't shoot in 1080 120 FPS.
Hey Nick. The Osmo Pocket Slow Mode is 1080p 120fps, although it crops in quite a bit and crappy in low light.
if your gonna use your phone with this it would defeat the purpose of buying the pocket. May as well just use a GoPro
So u thinh you funny huh?🤣
It is a fanny pack.
You are better than that Constable :) Fine, we will call it a Canadian fanny pack.
@@DavidDavies Thank you kindly ;)
Do you need a talking head to introduce your video camera?
