Last Sunday I found at Monza Circuit this amazing Shelby Mustang GT500 with a modified full exhaust system. You can see some track scenes and then a little "rev battle" between the GT500 and a Ferrari F430 Scuderia. While the owners was leaving he made a nice wheelspin.

And they claim "Mustangs still can't do corners"...things changed. These beasts can handle corners, just gotta know your limits as the driver and respect the car's power.
upgrade the suspension and they're very competitive :)
@@berdt4870 good suspension set up, tires, and a competent driver behind the wheel will definitely change how these things drive.
I mean a 2013 shelby gt500 has already ringed around the nurburgring in 7:40 mins. These cars handle really well, better than any Japanese car, until it's a lexus lfa, GTR R35 or 2nd gen NSX.

I realize (and regretfully admit) that a new Rental, V-6 Mustang is faster than most of the late 60's "Muscle Cars" but it still feels like something is missing. I'm glad I'm an old fart that got to own and tear around in my '66 Mustang (289, Headers, Holly 4-bbl, etc.) and my two '69 Roadrunners. When I was in High School my Mustang was only 6 years old and through the mid-70's my Roadrunners were only 6-7 years old. The Sounds of those headers from a 383 Magnum and the 'Cherry Bomb' Glass Packs on my Mustang was a thing of beauty, even if the Roadrunners ran the 1/4 in the high 14's and the Mustang in the mid 15 second range. There was more Tinkering with the carbs and actual manhandling while driving than today's far superior cars but I think us old farts look back fondly at the "Tinkering" under the hood on a Saturday afternoon and the looks we got from the girls on a Saturday night cruise. Watching "American Graffiti" is different than LIVING it... Thanks for posting these great vids! Thank heaven for CZcams. I see things daily that 20 years ago seemed like distant memories.

Living in North America, the Stang doesn't impress much, too much money for what you get. None the less as reasonable supercar for the price and good performance. Liked the video, thanks for sharing

Wondering if you can tell me exactly what your exhaust system is made up of. For example, what kind of headers do you have and is this a steeda H pipe or X pipe and what is the rest of the exhaust. This mustang sounds bad ass want to buy the same for mine.

More than likely just Longtubes to a Steeda mid pipe (X or H) then Steeda Axelbacks. He could have a smaller blower pully and tune, but those dont effect sound.

but if you live in germany ,like me, you have to have TÜV on your car and each aftermarket part of it. and i think the exhaust too lound for TÜV. you're also not allowed to open exhaust valves if you got some. :(

As their name suggests muscle cars are meant for high rpm performance during short runs.
On the other hand tuners or exotics might win during the longer runs.
For a example a muscle car can out perform even a Ferrari or a Lamborghini at least during the first seconds with the incredible power of superchargers even if they take power from the engine while performing at such high rpm.
Tuners rely more on turbo charged engines which don't take too much power from the engine as they rather use forced induction or the recirculation of gases.
Last but not least we have the exotics which mostly use naturally aspirated engines.

just to add to that, the one in the video won't even cost $50k, being a 07~09 model. so he will be looking at about $10k and less for it. an i've owned 3 mustangs. my 97 gt that i've had for 9yrs an have travel from coast to coast Cali to Atl many times, to Chi an OK. now has 180k miles, some mods an still running strong. it has never broke down on me, no problems except plastic inserts in doors. but i doubt my 2011 will have the same problem, an will outlive my 97 gt.

Even the low buck shelbys give ferrari a run for their money lol... Truth be told the Ferrari is probably factory and the mustang probably doesn't even have factory seats, and the driver seemed more precise. Looks like the Ferrari was too aggressive with the brakes and then in the transition as well at 0:09 and at 0:17. Mustang went through perfectly. To me it sounds like the gearing could be shortened a bit judging by the way it accelerates out of that sharp left corner.

@rabihz24 Hi there, what I meant is, here in Canada they're way too expensive, it is of course a muscle car, not a supercar, my bad. Saying reasonable price (for those who want to spend over 80 grant) you get good performance, although I've seen more than one on the side of the road with engine issues. Speaking for myself, it's a nice car but I've seen the model around for decades, sure history was made but they should move on and get something else going, just my point of view ;)
