    I lift and the best kind of fit for jeans I've found is American Eagle's Athletic Fit Air Flex. Standard Athletic Fit and Athletic Skinny. Both styles have that little extra room in the thigh and seat, soft stretch, great taper, and are around $45. I've gotten multiple compliments from friend's wives (mine too) on the fit so I know I chose wisely. I'm 190lbs 5'9" and wear a 34/32 skinny or 32/32 regular Athletic Fit.

      I'm on that exact same boat and usually go with Express's Straight Slim (6'2", between 210-220). Especially when they have crazy sales and have the pants go for $20 - 30 a pair. I've tried designer all the way to Levi's but you can't go wrong with value

      Great info, I haven't tried those. This past week I've tried on over 30 pairs and did loads of research. I found the best for me (muscular ass and legs, 5'11, 185lbs) are Lee Extreme Motion Athletic Taper (32x32) and Goodfellow Slim Straight (30x32, but ONLY in light blue wash! The other colors use different material blends 😡). They fit identically and are super stretchy. Levi 506 (athletic stretch 32x32) was a close third, would be best for real outdoor work pants. Thicker, less stretchy. Arizona Athletic Taper 32x32 almost made the list.

      @@nickisabelle724 I pretty much tried all those and the American Eagle were the way to go. You won't be disappointed. I'm 5'9" 203lbs pretty lean and the 32-34/32 were best for me in the regular and skinny. Still the best jeans I've ever had for being into bodybuilding.

    I have a recommendation for a video. Maybe do a breakdown of different style of jeans, depending on your age. When I was in my teens and 20s I would wear designer Jean's. Mostly Buckle and Rock Revival. In my late 30s I usually go with a nice and good fitting pair of classic Levi's. In my opinion age does matter when it comes to the style of jeans you wear. Just a suggestion.

    To add "fit in seat" is rocket science. As I said in other comment I have very bumpy seat. I said Levis 569 fit me well in seat in size w34. I think one of the battles of well-fitting jeans, especially in classic denims, is that we're applying the fit and movement expectations of a wool or cotton smart-casual trouser to a fabric weight and seam construction which was never originally intended to fit that way. It's a case of "style" and "fit" becoming conflated on a garment type that wasn't historically originally designed to fit, fall, or move in the same way as we now want it to.

Can't raise an opinion on dress uniforms as in the Swiss army there is hardly time invested in pageantry but I enjoyed hearing your comments. It triggered my curiosity to discover your other clips )) On jeans, can't agree more! With age and body changes, finding a jeans that fits is a challenge. Especially that mostly low raise/skinny styles are sold. Might be an interesting move to explore the workable bottoms options for barrel-chested males with a spare tire. We are many out there! And most of us hate looking like Oliver Hardy... Thanks for giving life to this channel!

    If the jeans have stretch, get them a little snug, over time the elastane will give some slack in the stress areas, and make a more custom, perfect fit. You can do this with 100% non stretch cotton, but it will take a loooong time, and it'll be slightly uncomfortable for a while. I would personally just get the non stretch jeans in my size or maybe a smidge bigger, since I like to wash mine to help soften the fabric.

      Is it better to get a size smaller in jeans with 3-6% elastane since it will get slightly loose after a couple wears?

    • @nickkestler4848
      @nickkestler4848 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@bebejoon3664 3-6% is a lot of stretch for a men's pair of jeans. The standard is usually 1-2%. It would take many wears to get the 3-6 to break in if you went with a smaller size, because it has more "stretch memory" and will hold it's shape longer. So, yes, that would work, but I would it might be tight for a bit until the elastane starts to wear down. For me, 1-2% is the right elastane to have a solid break in process.

    • @bebejoon3664
      @bebejoon3664 Před 10 měsíci

      @@nickkestler4848 Actually it’s 1% elastane and 5% polyester. I have big thighs and after 3 wears it’s loose around the waist, back area and thighs. At first it fit snug and tight but not a uncomfortable tightness. Was thinking since it’s loosened up about an inch or more I should go down a size. What you think? And thanks btw

    • @nickkestler4848
      @nickkestler4848 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@bebejoon3664 Oh yeah then for sure go down a small enough size where it fits snug, but isn't uncomfortable. If you wash and dry on hight heat, you'll get some shrinkage, but it usually goes back to normal after a few wears. The only thing is it'll shorten also, and that's tough to fix, but I don't mind it.

    1:08 That is why I wear those strechy high-waisted skinny (tight) jeans in relatively bigger sizes from women's section. The make your butt look great by better enchancing the shape of the buttocks than any men's jeans and by rightly placing pockets, have enough room (even more than many men's skinny jeans) in the front and you can easily bend and squat in them without threat of ripping. I can recommend it if someone is fit or slim in the legs (and overall) and feels confident to rock them. 👖 🍑 👍

    I think one important issue is never brought up in this kind of video to prevent backlash.
    It’s about body shape. You have to be lean with good length proportion of torso and legs to look good with jeans. Finding a good fit jeans will be piece of cake. Fitting is also way easier if you have lean body.
    If you’re like 5’8 and 180lbs no jeans would fit good. Believe me, I know.

I'm 74 years old and still love wearing jeans because they're comfy and practical. I'm not using them as a selling point at a bar anymore. I just enjoy the fit and comfort of my 38" Buffalo David Buittons and once in a while I even get attention until I tell the mate that I have to get my Viagra prescription refilled, lol.

    I recently discovered that Levi's 505 jeans are made lower waist and with only 5 belt loops which causes the butt to sag. I couldn't figure out why my latest Levi 505s sagged in the behind until I did my research. So I compared my one year old Levi 505s to my 4 year old Levi 505's and this is what I discovered first hand: The two belt loops traditionally above the rear pockets were omitted and the waist material is shorter which prohibits pulling them up properly. Further investigation online led to others who had discovered the same thing. I no longer purchase Levi jeans.

      They're also incredibly inconsistent with their sizing now. I bought 3 pairs of 505's a month or so ago from a physical store; all of them 34x34. 1 pair was slightly loose, 1 pair fits perfectly, and the 3rd pair doesn't even come close to fastening. Same thing with my 511's.
