  • Former Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby, after her push to prosecute the officers whose alleged actions reportedly led to the death of Freddie Gray, found herself convicted of "fraud" for withdrawing funds from her own Baltimore Deferred Compensation retirement account. In this exclusive interview, Mosby joins Joy Reid in her first one-on-one since her hotly contested trial, after which she now faces up to 40 years in prison.

Campaign funds are not a person’s personal funds. This is why all campaign funds are allocated under a nonprofit status. There are strict rules and regulations that accompany campaign funds and you can’t treat it as though it’s your personal funds. The accounting of every dollar and cent that is donated and spent on the campaign must be accounted for. Many politicians are upended due to misappropriating campaign funds and or violating campaign finance rules. This is why anyone seeking office and raising money to help finance the campaign need to learn the rules, and laws governing the use of other people’s money to run for office. Many politicians have gone to prison for violating campaign finance laws. This isn’t something to sneeze at.
Anytime anyone employs any of the nonprofit status’ to conduct anything, learn the rules, regulations, and the law. For anyone who think this is no big deal, then think again, it is!!!

She falsely claimed to have suffered financial hardship as a result of COVID and therefore was able to pull down a bunch of money from her deferred comp plan without penalty and put that money toward two investment properties in Florida. She then omitted her unrelated federal tax lien on a mortgage application.
