What a PLEASURE it was to hash out this grisly truth! I hope a mom to be sees this and gets a few ideas of their own because a lot of us are reinventing the wheel each time. Good luck to all the families out there!

Thanks so much for sharing your story, especially despite the fact that it was quite traumatic... You always share your journey so that the people behind you have less stumbles, and that's absolutely amazing-- not to mention your sense of humor and grace throughout the whole thing.

I just had my baby and agree with @kemushichan. I tried so hard to give birth not on my back but right at the end i was forced to lay down. I had severe tearing, needed oxygen, it was so traumatic.

gonna be a father very soon, great timing!
one thing I'd like to correct tho, not all epidurials are scheduled, we chose a hospital that doesn't schedule them. I don't know the ratio tho

Home stretch!! Sending all my best to you both.
Definitely, sounds like you're in good hands! I would say the word to steer clear of is 企画分娩 (kikakubunben), jp style epidural madness.

@@kemushichan not sure what home stretch means, but thanks! ^^
yeah, that's the one, we're not having that.

@@sounanya3 Home stretch means that last bit of distance (ie. “stretch”) before you reach the finish line (ie. “home”). In this sense she was referring to your lady being close to giving birth. I realize this comment is a fair bit old now so hope everything worked out for you guys!

The birthing experience in Japan sounds traumatic.😅 I'm glad it all worked out for Loretta.❤
