I discovered these about 2 years ago on a flight to the Carribeans. Fell in love the with them. It took me a while to find them commercially, to buy pickled. I found them on Amazon as well as a grocery store 20 minutes from me. But I was willing to drive. They are generally in the deli/specialty goods, not the pickled goods. They are called tear drops commercially and are pickled sweet....sugary. I grow them now. They make a regular appearance in salads. And I agree, I was surprised to find them more sweet and not as the seed packages stated. Also agree the red ones were far more flavorful than the yellow.
Hi. Thank you for this video! I happened upon these in the grocery store today and had to try them. I instantly feel in love! So then I needed to find out if I could grow them here. I'm glad you put Tennessee in your video because I'm in Chattanooga, so hopefully I'll be successful this summer when I give these a try. BTW, the ones I just bought were the pickled kind (Delallo brand) in Publix grocery stores, located with the gourmet cheeses.
Hey there!! Thanks so much. I’m glad you found the video helpful :) I’m in Spring Hill, TN. These peppers will grow great for you in Chattanooga. Definitely give them a try!
And thanks for letting me know you found them in Publix. They didn’t have them at my local Kroger. The first time I tried them, they were served warm on top of a spinach artichoke dip I had in Denver and they were soooo good. That’s why I wanted to grow them myself. If you grow them, try cooking them too!
Hello my name is Sarah I live in East Tennessee I’m new at gardening can u please give me a few good seed companies I want these peppers an also those golden Tom thank u for ur videos they are very helpful to myself
Hi Sarah! I'm glad you found my channel. Thanks so much for watching. As a fellow Tennessean, you can see what grows well in our area. My favorite seed company is Baker Creek Heirloom seeds. They have a big catalog each year that you can find at your local Tractor Supply or Dollar General or order from their website rareseeds.com. It's a lot of fun to browse through the pictures each winter and plan out the garden. Botanical Interests iS another company I like. You can often find their seed packs displayed at local plant nurseries. Otherwise, your local Home Depot or Lowes has a pretty big selection of seeds each Spring. You can find some good stuff there. Definitely check out rareseeds.com and have fun browsing all the beautiful pictures!
Hello inchworm gardener? How have you and family been doing this winter? I’m sure you are very busy with your children. Are you making some videos this year?
Hey there! We're all doing great. Thanks for asking :) Yes, just taking a little rest for the winter time but I'll be starting my first seeds this week! I need to decide what kind of videos I want to make this year. I enjoy making my Variety Spotlight videos and I like doing garden tours but I'm not sure what else I want to do. I might just stick with those for now. If there's anything specific you'd like to see just let me know :) You're officially by biggest fan on here, haha 😋 I appreciate you!
Hey there! I'm in the Spring Hill area. My parents live in Hermitage so I'm out in your neck of the woods pretty often. Beautiful area! I love Tennessee.
Had this in Iceland, and found a pizza place that served them fresh here in CA…absolutely delicious and crunchy!
Yum!! Cool pepper! I liked the pickling tutorial too!
Thank you!

Great on pizzas
oooh! Yes! I'll try that this year.
For the yellow ones, how do you know when they are ready to harvest?
Hi there! They turn from green to a bright yellow color when ripe. I think once they're fully yellow they're ready to go!
