    If only all African Americans who decided to pick up and move to Ghana would have the same mentality as Mr. Diallo Sumbry!!! You are 💯 correct when you said that a lot of African Americans move to Ghana but don't associate with the locals. Moving to Ghana has become a trend and a lot of people go there with the wrong mentality. As Mr.Diallo Sumbry so accurately said, they go there looking to find America in Ghana and when they don't find it, they take to social media and complain about the Ghanaian people and culture. They want to be able to walk around in Ghana half naked with their breasts exposed with paw print tattoos and shorts that's 3 sizes too small showing all their cellulite and then have the nerve to get angry when Ghanaian people frown upon it. Hello! That's NOT how Ghanaian women conduct themselves. Then they get mad if they go to a restaurant and have to wait more than 15 minutes for their food to be prepared. Well if you want fast food, go back to America and find the nearest McDonald's. Don't go to Ghana looking for fast-food culture and for everything to be done at the snap of your finger. Don't go to Ghana acting like you're Colonizers! Don't take your stank, messy attitude to Ghana to spread your toxicity onto the Ghanaian people and society.
    I'm sure a lot of people will be offended and don't want to hear this, but oh well! The truth hurts!
    Thank you for sharing this positive and inspiring video. I admire and respect Mr. Sumbry and the work that he is doing.

If Afro Americans are this willing to help Ghana or Africa how about us that left the continent and go to the west for greener pasture. What are we contributing back to the poor communities we left? We didn’t even value Africa until Afro Americans started coming to Africa in their millions.

      @navo sesay LOL at "you probably have never left the continent"
      First of all, it's very presumptuous of you to make such an assumption. Moreover, you're completely wrong.
      I have lived in the US for 30 years. I have also visited Africa and have traveled throughout the Caribbean as well.
      Secondly, If you read my comment correctly, you would realize that it was addressing the mentality of the diasporans moving to the continent. While the point that you made in your response to my comment certainly has validity, it was completely out of context. You completely missed the subject.

Ghana for dummies, kenya for dummies, Gambia for dummies, Senegal for dummies,etc. now this can be a system for diaspora that teaches where there is a Cafe when they arrive or before so they don't get scammed also that guarantees guide for their arrival. This can be online or upon arrival spot for those that has never traveled to those places. @@LuvvMyBrownSkin understand what you mean, as far as well. So i think if you either live in the US or Accra Ghana just comparing the two from the title of the video, as far as Accra Ghana i think the quality of life would be worse than in the US making that much but that's just from my experience. To live a comparable life to that of in the US in terms of living standards my experience is you have to pay more in Accra than you would in the US to get what is considered basic for US standards. Like say you live in south Florida (using the climate as reference) and you pay $60 a month for electricity. In Accra the equivalent usage of electrical items you could pay possible double. That 40 K in the US can allow you to obtain more (albeit its debt) than you could in Accra. The benefits of Ghana living is when you live life differently than you would in the US and more like a Ghanaian.

    • @LuvvMyBrownSkin
      @LuvvMyBrownSkin Před rokem +1

      @@Kwayfloss - I don't agree that the quality of life would be better in the US on 40K than in Ghana.. I am still of the view that that the quality of life on 40K in Ghana (even in Accra) would be better than the quality of life in the US. For example, I can rent a pretty decent and spacious apartment in Accra for far less than in the US. I know that there have been a lot of foreigners moving to Accra and purchasing property only to to turn around and charge people US rental prices. One would have to be foolish, or have money to burn to rent from such people. Outside of that, you can still find reasonably priced properties for rent. . .yes. . .even in Accra .
      In the US ( Orlando for example), rental prices START at about $1,300 per month for TINY one-bedroom apartment. In places like New York and San Francisco, those prices start upwards of $3,000 us per month!
      As for food prices, you can definitely purchase local food and eat at small local restaurants in Accra for a lot less than you would pay for food and eating out in the US (speaking from my actual experience when visiting Ghana).
      The cost of transportation is also a lot less than in the US. Uber or Lyft here in the US would cost me at least $20 US for a 10-15 minute ride. With Bolt in Accra, that same ride would cost about $3 or $4 US (again, speaking from my experience in Ghana).
      As far as purchasing property or building property, although you have to use cash in Ghana as opposed to credit, the overall cost of the house itself and the building materials would still turn out to cost significantly less than it would in the US for the same size house.
      Now as far as your statement about electricity being twice as much, you're saying that it would cost a single person about $120 us per month for electricity in Ghana? I'm going to have to fact-check that.
      Lastly, the dollar exchange rate for US dollars to Ghana cedis has increased to 11 Ghana cedis to $1 US, which Works in favor of those coming wth US Dollars.

    • @Kwayfloss
      @Kwayfloss Před rokem

      @@LuvvMyBrownSkin i see what you mean but to me only if you choose to live differently in Accra then you would in the USA because having the same amenities from the US as i would in Accra in my experience costs more. Like a school for children comparable to the US with access to a school gym, science lab, computer lab etc is free and standard back in the US for the most part but to get that in Accra its like paying university tuition in some cases if you have children. Also something as simple as living in a neighborhood in an apartment building with maintenance workers, accessibility to shops comparable to the US in walking distance like some inner city living could cost in some cases up to 3x more in Accra. I could get that in the Bronx but in Accra the cost is like living in Manhattan for that amount. This is just what i have experienced. I find the benefits to being in Accra have nothing to do with financial.
