- Switching from a rotary mower to a reel mower. It is not hard and can be done. Bermudagrass is an alphagrass. Taking it down to where you want it all at once will not hurt the lawn. It may take a few passes but can be done all at once. I took the lawn from around 2 inches down the 5/16. All at once, no waiting every few days!

Proof that it’s hard to scalp Yukon Bermuda. What other Bermuda can go from 2 inches to greensmower height without scalping. Why I love it
The front was rough. Having to raise HOC. The back though. I just wish the Yukon like herbicide as much as it does scalping

What is the purpose of keeping the grass cut "so low"?
Question Would a push reel mower give better results than a good quality rotary mower as I can't afford a quality reel mower?
The reel will give a better cut up to a point. My Fiskars cut great. It wasn't until later in the year when the grass got really thick that the appearance decreased. The cut was still good, but due to the fewer blades there was bad washboarding. Multiple (like 3-4) passes helped a bit. This was at 1 inch.

striperman I got a mix of rye and fescue I'm in the uk and currently at 1.5" starting to lower that to 1" now its thickening up had a hot dry summer last year so had to go up to 2" but prefer it at 1"

Is that a flex 21? How do you like it? Seems like there are a lot more of those availability vs Connor’s 1600
I love it. I have undulating terrain and swales in the backyard. The flexing of the cutting unit conforms to these changes so I don’t have to mow in a specific pattern. Only downside is the HOC. Stock is is max 1/2 inch on older models. I think pre 2006. Mine is. 2005. There is a high HOC but your lowest HOC is now 1/2 inch. Not hard to swap the brackets but that can be a pain.
Reel Low Dad I think I’d like mine around 5/8” or 3/4” more like a baseball field.

Darkened or lack of colour could be caused by the way its converted for viewing. Mp4 ot wmv. Even uploading to youtube the compression changes some colours
Thanks Colonel 😁 My son wanted to help so he filmed me mowing the front with the reel. Was playing with ND filters this time. I should have unlocked exposure and set things to auto. He was all over the place.
