    Hello there, what I didn't say in the video is that I believe they did have horns that could help with the control of the dragons, BUT Dragonbinger isn't a horn like this, because this thing is HUGE and impractical AF.

    Love the idea that the Wall was never intended to remain up indefinitely, but only during the attack. Then lowered at other times. That could throw the Seasons out of whack…and the wall weeps but doesn’t disappear. Reminds me of a battery left plugged in too long, it’s continually flexing and working, never at rest or working as intended.

    I like your idea about dragonbinder and it immediately made me think about the faceless men theory on bringing about the 14 flames and the history of Hardhome, like it was a test run for them to be sure it’ll work. Sounds like a cataclysm happened there in the past and then once they knew it worked they carried it out in Valyria, leaving it there for Euron to find

    13:56 It could be that the realms of men extended as far as the frost fangs and beyond in the time the horn was made and the oaths were sworn, seeing as how the First Men were the only human inhabitants. So the wall is raised to keep out the dead, and is brought down to allow the humans behind it to return to their lands to the north.
    This is a theory that Alabastur talks about in his videos: basically, the Andals arrived just before and during the Long Night, and an alliance of the two peoples was necessary to defeat the white walkers, hence Bronze AND Iron being hated by the White Walkers as per Old Nan (even though it was the Andals that introduced iron to the First Men). When the war ended, adoption of Andal customs and beliefs by House Stark (hence the Bronze AND Iron crown of winter) created a rift between the 'Andalizers' and those who kept the old ways, culminating in the conflict with the Warg King. The result was the creation of the 'Wildlings' as a people, being those who went north to keep the old ways, and were kept out via the Wall being raised and never lowered, hence why the Wildlings would be able to find a horn that would allow them to seek shelter behind the wall if the White Walkers returned.

    Horns symbolize magic straight from nature (fertility for example) and hammers symbolize more human, technology related magic - the kind the smith does at his forge - transformation of the natural into a tool.

    26:52 Coming back to this point of your theory, I'm almost more certain now that Young Griff is Aegon, based on how this would associate him with the water magic of the Rhoynar. After all, fire melts ice into water while water can quench fire, so Aegon could very easily end up being the one who balances things out between Dany and Jon, in the same way that Green as a colour lies between blue and red on the colour spectrum (at least in your diagram). It would make sense based on the Rhoynish account of the Long Night, where an unnamed hero convinced the children of Mother Rhoyne to set aside their differences and sing the secret song that brought back the day.
    If Dany is Azor Ahai and Jon is the Last Hero, I could see Aegon being the 'Hero of the Rhoyne,' with the purpose of the 'Three Heads of the Dragon' being to unite the three magical bloodlines that fought the Long Night in the Dawn Age. Whether Aegon dies by Greyscale or Dragonfire, his death could end up being the catalyst for the 'scouring of King's Landing'/Dance of the Dragons 2.0

    Just had a thought at work: I know Mel had visions of a tower falling into the sea, and people have taken that to mean that Euron will destroy Oldtown, or at least the Hightower.
    But based on your theory, Euron's horn is not a Hammer of the Waters type device that can cause the waters to rise and sink land. The Dragon Horn is likely tied to fire magic and volcanoes. And your theory about the Iron Islands DOES suggest that they may be a sunken Volcano.
    What if the tower that is swept away by the Waters isn't the Hightower, but Pyke?

    • @CompanyOfTheCat
      @CompanyOfTheCat  Před rokem +2

      Now that you said that, something else also crossed my mind. We do not know where exactly there is volcanic activity in Westeros and in Battle Isle, there is fused stone and legends about dragons. Is there a possibility there is volcanic activity there?

      @theduxabides9274 Před rokem

      @Company of the Cat I subscribe more to the theory that the GEOTD was using blood magic to control Fire Wyrms, seeing as how an empire as large as that AND possessing dragons doesn't make much sense prior to Valyria.

  • @CJusticeHappen21
    @CJusticeHappen21 Před 4 měsíci +2

    What if Dragonbinder wasn't made to establish command of Dragons, but to interfere with the command of Dragons by those who through magical means do possess such power.
    What if when Victarion or one of his slaves blows the horn, the result is that Dany is no longer able to command her Dragons, and maybe they go mad and start attacking randomly.
    And assuming that Children of the Forest Magic is responsible for the power of the horns, then the idea is that at some point, the Valeryian Families that were fighting each other were acquiring weapons to mess with the other families. Dragonbinder would have been an ace against any family that places too much strength in only their dragons. Tyrion even proves this in his game with Faegon.

  • @shuikai272
    @shuikai272 Před rokem +4

    Maybe the horns summon magical beings. For example, Dragonbinder summons Firewyms, Horn of Winter Others, Kraken horn summoning Krakens. The firewyrms come out of the volcanos.

    And for the moon part, aren't we told Mellisandre's magic relies on the moon, or can only happen on night? Isn't it similar for a lot of the Old God's stuff? Like weddings?
    And isn't there a lot of stuff related to dawn/ dusk as well?
    These theories make so much sense!
    Unrelated, but what if the Star that was forged to be Dawn was similar to the Red Commet that heralded the rebirth of the dragons?

    • @CompanyOfTheCat
      @CompanyOfTheCat  Před rokem +1

      Yes, the moon is the nexus. It's in every story and serves as a parallel too.
      I think that something was passing, so it could be the comet easily, and hit the moon. If the part that fell in Starfall was a part of the moon or the comet, I am not sure. I tend to believe it was a moon fragment, since Dawn is described alive with moonlight.

  • @Firmth
    @Firmth Před rokem +4

    While watching some LML videos about moon theories I had a thought that there might be two moons in an ongoing eclipse, accounting for the imbalance in the seasons, and whatever denouement takes place to undo the magic breaking the world will release them. My details are muddied because I just inhale videos, I don't study the material myself, but I could see the 2nd moon itself being azor ahai, worshipped as a god that returned when the world needed saving, sticking around this time to keep the seasons balanced and prevent any more long nights. Also has echoes of earendil

    • @CompanyOfTheCat
      @CompanyOfTheCat  Před rokem +2

      At some point, I had in mind that there was a second satellite, but tbh, now, I find it very unlikely. There would be way more myths and legends and songs around Planetos and if a second moon fell, we wouldn't have just a cataclysm, it would be straight-up global catastrophe to the point of no return.

    • @Firmth
      @Firmth Před rokem +1

      @@CompanyOfTheCat I more or less agree, but it's still compelling because there's something there, one way or another. The moon references aren't random. Also, why is an entire region under an unexplained "shadow"? Is something disrupting the natural orbit of satellites, throwing seasons out of whack, messing with sea levels and casting a permanent shadow?

    • @CompanyOfTheCat
      @CompanyOfTheCat  Před rokem +2

      Volcanic ash can stay for a long time in the atmosphere and block light. Eclipses could also be involved, in places with snow doesn't really matter if the moon is in the sky and full if there is a snowstorm and freezing fog you cannot see anything. And all this without magic, so I am guessing if you add it too, it can be pretty difficult to have a good view of the moon and sky.

    26:08 Yo, this theory about Green, Red and Blue repesenting Water, Fire and Ice makes me wonder: Could this mean that Young Griff, Jon and Dany really ARE the Three Heads of the Dragon, and that Young Griff really IS Aegon VI? I ask because Dany and John obviously represent Fire and Ice, but Griff's upbringing PLUS his family lineage if he is who he claims he is, would associate him strongly with Water.
    The Rhoynar were heavily associated with water magic and river gods, and Rhaegar had Rhoynish blood via Daeron II while Elia was of Rhoynish blood as the Princess of Dorne. Then there's the fact that Young Griff has been raised in Essos ON A BOAT, spending most of his life up rivers and on the coast, and Tyrion's chapters with him are spent on a boat IN THE RHOYNE RIVER with a large horned turtle (the Old Man of the River) making an appearance also.

      @Company of the Cat Tbf, we've had multiple baby/child swaps already, like Theon and the farmer's boys, Myrcella and her cousin, Gilly's baby and Dalla's. It's not completely unbelievable, esp when it's appeared that much in the story.

    • @theduxabides9274
      @theduxabides9274 Před rokem +3

      @@CompanyOfTheCat I'd also add that it would make sense for Elia to try to save her son in this way, given that neither her nor Rhaenys should have been in danger. She was incapable of having anymore children by all accounts, and Rhaenys was a Dornish girl in a post-Dance, post-Viserys II Westeros where no one was going to accept a queen, let alne a Dornish one. I doubt Elia anticipated Tywin sacking the city as he did, or that he would have her an her children brutally murdered (likely as revenge for Cersei not marrying Rhaegar).

    15:47 There's an issue with this legend about the Five Forts, and that's the fact that the Pearl Emperor is claimed to have built them. First off, the Pearl Emperor was the son and successor of the God-on-Earth, who was the child of the Maiden-Made-of-Light and the Lion of Night. If the Lion of Night is the grandfather of the Pearl Emperor, why is he sending demons to attack the Empire? We only know of one case where the Lion of Night takes on an antagonistic role, and that's when the Blood Betrayal happens and the Lion 'came forth in all his wroth' to 'punish the wickedness of men.' Why would the Lion send demons against his grandson, when the only time we hear of him showing aggression is when he punishes human wickedness long after the Pearl Emperor's death?

    • @CompanyOfTheCat

      I am not sure what the hell happened in Asshai tbh.
      Either the forts were built later and the myths are mushed together which very possible or before tGEotD there was again another long night and I find this kinda possible as well.
      It seems like the LN is something that happens every 5k years or so, this one is the second one how do we know there wasn't a third one before? Even the name Empire of the Dawn paints an image of an empire flourishing AFTER the night and the Pearl is very early in their myths. That being said the five forts look like they were built for the same reason for sure, the myth is almost identical to the Wall, stopping the demons of the night.

      @@CompanyOfTheCatI'm more inclined to believe that the Five Forts and Battle Isle were built to secure the borders of the GEOTD against human enemies from the outside. Neither the Blood Betrayal nor Euron's Gotterdammerung seem to be connected to a cycle given that Bloodstone acted on his own accord, and the actions of Euron (and Dany, and Stannis) seem to be driven by the LoL cult that views Bloodstone as a hero.
