  • As requested, this is my update dealing with pelvic organ prolapse now that I've had pelvic prolapse through three pregnancies, births, and now postpartum. Here is my updated experience dealing with prolapse where I discuss what's it's like having a stage three prolapse, dealing with three different types of pelvic prolapse, prolapse and sex, and the prolapse surgery I am getting soon to fix this.
As I mentioned in previous videos, I have been dealing with pelvic organ prolapse in pregnancy since 2018. After birthing our third child, I also developed cystocele and rectocele. If you have questions and/or suggestions, please comment down below to help other women going through a similar journey.

From the Cleveland Clinic explaining vaginal prolapse: my.clevelandclinic.org/health/...
"Vaginal prolapse is a condition where the vagina slips out of position. This is more common in women who have had multiple vaginal deliveries during childbirth, have gone through menopause, are smokers, or are overweight. The chances of developing a prolapse also increase as you age."
From Better Health regarding vaginal prolapse stages:
    www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/h...
Uterine prolapse is described in stages, indicating how far it has descended. Other pelvic organs (such as the bladder or bowel) may also be prolapsed into the vagina.,. The four categories of uterine prolapse are:
Stage I - the uterus is in the upper half of the vagina
Stage II - the uterus has descended nearly to the opening of the vagina
Stage III - the uterus protrudes out of the vagina
Stage IV - the uterus is completely out of the vagina

thank you so much for talking about this! I have been dealing with uterus prolapse since 2015, some days I am good and others, it is SUCH a struggle. From cramps, to heavy feeling down there, to back pain. I have had 3 babies vaginally. Doing daily activities can be so exhausting dealing with this. Girl, really...thanks for speaking on this.....This is something that should be talked about in sex ed in school, so girls will know and be aware. I never even heard of anything like this until it happened to me. Thanks for speaking on it.

I am so sorry you too are dealing with this. I mentioned in this video that my surgery would be in two weeks, but COVID delayed it another two months which is absolutely gut-wrenching to hear. Some schools cut sex ed out of the curriculum. We had one day of it when I was in school. I think each gender especially should have a week dedicated to go over topics like this. It shouldn't be a surprise as adults smh. Thank you for your comment!

Glad you are being transparent! More people need to be open about these issues and learn about it. I worked in the specialty of Urogynecology for almost 5 years and have seen SO many women's quality of life improve drastically with their help!!!!!! Never heard of the specialty until I applied for the job but I gained a wealth of knowledge while there!

    • @VictoriaVaden
      @VictoriaVaden  Před 2 lety +1

From what I have understood, majority of doctors do not refer to a urogynecologist. If it weren’t for CZcams, I would have never known. Doctors always suggest kegels or physical therapy, but never the doctor who specializes in it smh.
Using myself as an example, when I knew kegels and physical therapy were not helpful, I was told there’s nothing I could do. No referrals. I had to just deal with it.
      Thank God for CZcams.

Prolapse is HORRIBLE. So Emotionally devastating. My heart goes out to you. I have a stage 2 after having my 4th baby. I’m doing physical therapy and already feeling a lot better. I wish you all the best with your surgery! Make sure you do physical therapy after your surgery to get your muscles stronger and in general try to be aware of your lifestyle afterwards with how you hold your body.

Thank you so much! When I asked about it after my second child, I wish I was taken seriously then because when they told me about physical therapy, it was already too late. Or at least been warned about kegels prior to and during my first pregnancy.

I had intestinal and cervical endometriosis. I've been through the hysterectomy part minus the prolapse. Multiple surgeries. Yes please keep those ovaries which is the partial hysterectomy. I eventually had to have the ovaries removed and it is a total nightmare with surgically induced menopause. The only way you will continue to bleed a little is if there is scar tissue in your cervical lining and they're not able to remove all of that. I hope things get better for you.

Oh my goodness, thank you for sharing! It’s interesting in my family (I mentioned this in the video, but cut it out during editing) that none of the women in my family know when menopause is…because at first, I tried to weigh my options based on that.
