Awesome motors can keep up with most modern supercars with simple bolt ons! And the engines are pretty much bullet proof what more can you want.

I have a mapped trans control unit in my cls55 based on the Maclaren SLR which now has quicker gear changes, torque converter locks up quicker, more engine braking before tc drops out, holds gears longer before it changes up at wot also has a extra gear mode called Agility mode, sort of sport plus, the car is now way more drivable. Also opted for full manual control so you can hold a gear to the limiter if that's your thing. Will still change on its own in manual mode when slowing down but won't change up till you want it to. Other modes are larger bottom pulley, map and x pipe with secondary cat delete, dynoed at 606 bhp and 600 lbft torque. Don't know if your aware but you can put the car in dyno mode which disables traction completely for more loonatic tail out antics but also disables the abs as well which can make things interesting. Come across your channel quite recently. MA, you've got some brilliant content and you have a new subscriber here. I current daily a Lexus IS250, my project is a Toyota Celica VVTI and my weekend/toy car is a Nissan 350Z. I'm recently finding myself in the position that I'm really considering a CLS 55 AMG - the price isn't too bad and compared to say, an Audi S5 (which I can find with a V8) in similar condition, you get so much more power and enjoyment. I think having it as RWD is fun, I've always fancied a Quattro but as you can tell, I've always loved Japanese cars and the CLS would be my first foray into the German world. I appreciate you've sold the car but I was wondering - if I can get one with FSH, around 130K on the clock (a little high I know) in good condition with all of the major work done (supercharger was rebuilt as was the tiptronic transmission few years ago at 100K), would it be worth it? Generally speaking, what are they like for reliability and sourcing parts for? Thanks bro, keep up the amazing work 💪

Thanks for the comment man and honestly speaking owning a lot of German cars over the years… the Cls55 amg is one of the best cars I have ever owned… the quality the and the feel is no longer there in these newer cars! Parts for these are super cheap and will least you a good 15 years 😂 cls55 amg is definitely a car I would honestly recommend. Are you from the states?
