Totally agree. There is literally no way a gargantuan company like Disney hasn’t used less than conventional ways to grow and get what they want. I appreciate all of their works and innovation but if you believe that they’re a clean and pure company then (I’m sorry but) you’re being naive.

Think of it, most of us barely known Max Fleisher until now, Game Theory literally brought this guy back up and also hopefully searching this guy up and doing an essay on him will give me a A+, once again. Literally a awesome theory and who knows the game may be based off this guy.
I think I've been seeing this dudes animations circling around the internet. The same style. Weird contortions. Honestly just plain old disturbing but you can't stop watching. I normally see them on "disturbing facts you didn't know" tik tok videos. I really feel like if he got more popular than Disney, cartoons would look very different nowadays.....

I grew up watching Popeye at one of my babysitters’. I knew Fleisher’s name, but I didn’t know he beat Disney in the animation department. I always thought Fleisher was a part of the Disney team.

@@mr.mcnerdo Here’s a not so fun fact about their legal department. So, I feel like everyone knows about the 50’s film, Kimba the White Lion, right? It was a Japanese animated film which was about funnily enough, a white lion called Kimba. The plot was extremely similar to The Lion King which made people begin theorising that Disney had plagiarised from the film considering how similar it was. But the directors of Kimba, who had a fully fledged case and were justified in suing Disney, didn’t due to Disney’s lawyers being famous for their power and danger towards their business. So the film faded into obscurity with The Lion King being WAY more known and influential.

Then just so you know, Walt Disney would years later allow Fleischer's son Richard Fleischer direct "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", though it's unknown if he did as some sort of apology, but regardless, it seems Max Fleischer held a grudge for years, while his son remained indifferent to the whole ordeal

I actually kinda find it ironic that there's two video game characters with the same name, but they're from different video game franchises. Like, take for instance, Henry Emily and Sammy Emily are both from FNAF. Sammy is the son of Henry. And then you've got Sammy Lawrence and Henry Stein from BATIM. Again, kinda ironic.
in fact, disney's "Steamboat Willie" wasn't even Disney's first animation combining sound and animation. His "Oswald the Lucky Rabbit" cartoons had sound in them as well.

This theory actually made me happy.
Growing up, I have VHS of Fleischer's cartoons.
I dunno where my parents procure them, considering they're both a '48 and '57.
And me myself is a '91 with my oldest sibling is an '80.
While watching CZcamsrs played through Bendy and encountered Alice Angel,
I literally said "I remembered seeing Alice Angel's design somewhere, but where?"
And I searched through Google to a Disney character that resembles Alice Angel and what I get is always Minnie Mouse,
which doesn't true, like, at all.
And suddenly, in 2013,
When I moved out, I found my old VHS and found Fleischer's cartoon again.
And when I saw this theory, it brings a little tears to my eyes that someone still remembers Fleischer.
I grew up watching Betty Boop and Felix the Cat at my grandparents' house. Definitely warms my heart to see the visual style again

This has always been my favorite game theory episode since I was 6. Also I love the “wanna be a member? Wanna be a member?”
I was in an animation class back in 7th grade, and we got told to do an essay about the history of animation, so I used this as a reference. My teacher and I hated each other, so of course he made me do it again. I turned in the same thing, and then he gave me an A. Needless to say, I was pretty happy with my essay thanks to MatPat.
I didn't know that Max Fleischer was the creator of Betty Boop and Popeye! Thanks for the history lesson on animation, it was really interesting! :)
Well, in Popeye's case, not so much "creator". The Sailor-man actually came from the newspaper funnies. Fleischer just made surreal and hilarious animated shorts with him, and canonized his rivalry with Bluto.

Haven't watched anything from this channel since before covid. It's nice to look back and rewatch older videos.
I wish Game Theory would cover BATIM again. It's had new books come out, a mobile game, and more.
Despite it being unlikely that Bendy and the Dark Revival will be released, it would be like a goodbye to the franchise, a franchise I loved so much and want to see what MatPat and the team thinks was the true timeline, and just recapping in general, or pushing a new theory with evidence.
