I picked up 3 bottles of the Cask Strength Bourbon last year in Utah and at first I was underwhelmed, but it really grew on me. Just opened their BiB Rye, that was real nice, Cheers!
I had a pour of the evan williams 12 year last time in Kentucky. Its good but no way it should cost as much as it does. I ended up buying the distillers pick while there at the evan williams experience. Its pretty solid and it was $79 or $89 bucks.
Well that's disappointing to hear, but maybe with my lowered expectations I'll be pleasantly surprised. I did see the distillers pick, I'll look for that next time. Cheers!
I mean its ok. But they charge way too much for it. Its not a $150 plus bottle. Even if it was $100 I might have considered it. I just bought a 9 yr evan williams single barrel for $29.99 at total wine. Why is the 12 year over $100 more.
I have an unopened 8yr EW SiB I've been waiting to share with a friend. Also like $30. I think pricing has a lot more to do with scarcity than quality. Surely the 12yr isn't 5X better than the SiB!
I have at least one of everything you have there except the ryes. I hope you enjoy the EW12 it's good but to me it is not worth the price. Heck of a score though man too bad you didn't get anything Michters! I love Michters products
Nice! I'm definitely hoping the EW12 is worth it, we'll see. I've pretty much slept on Michters, their American Whiskey is the only bottle I've had. Their tasting was great, the tour not so much. Cheers!
@@michaelhite I have not done a tour I get there about an hour to an hour and a half early hope for a drop get what they have and then try to hit their upstairs bar that is gorgeous with decent priced pours
I've heard good things about their bar, we didn't make time to visit this trip. I've been going through all the Old Forester I can get my hands on recently, Michter's is next on the list
@@michaelhite fair enough I am trying to find some sort of brown forman product I like. I just cannot do much of their stuff. Just doesn't hit me the right way. I would say next time you come to KY get to Michters 1 to 1.5 hours early and make reservations for a spot at the tasting bar. If your lucky they will have a drop but even if not you get to go upstairs and get something like their rye flight. It's 4 half ounce samples. Their regular rye, toasted Rte, barrel strength rye and 10 year rye all for like 35 bucks. Give or take a couple bucks. My next bottle I just picked up I need to try is OF single barrel barrel strength
Thanks for that advice. I plan on hitting their bar next time I'm there, hopefully this winter. And dang that rye flight sounds right up my alley! I have a couple OF Single Barrels and they're Hot! Perhaps too much so, though it's been a bit since I've poured from their bottles

There is no way you just happened to walk in to Lux Row and get a Blood Oath. I drive thru the area several times a year and have never just got one. Be honest…you have connections because you are a whiskey tuber. Ridiculous.
Dang, I wish I had connections. I can only imagine how hard the guys at Lux Row would laugh at me if I told them I was a whiskey tuber with 1,500 subs. There were exactly 19 bottles of Pact 10 when we walked into the distillery to do the tour. I literally changed my channel banner just for you, check it out. Cheers
Last time I was at Lux row they had pact 7,8,9 on the shelf. $299 each! lol the guy told me it was to keep up with the secondary. NO way you got that for $159…
I was there in February, saw the same bottles at that price. I passed on them. Not sure what guys think I have to gain by lying about the bottles I purchase. I'll have a short dropping in the morning. Feel free to check it out

They say it's better to be lucky than good. I'll stop by these distilleries multiple times while in KY, and it's seemed to work for me. Secondary is definitely crazy on these bottles.
