How to learn Nordic Walking? Basic Nordic Walking technique for beginners This video is learning the right rhythm and arm swing. #Nordic Walker riikkaonline.com/nordic-walking
Thanks for your videos. Instructions are quite clearly done, and each topic is explained in detail. It is nice to watch them since they are not long and boring, but quite specific in technique. 🤩👌😘
Thank you for this demonstration! Just a small tip for next videos, and just my opinion, but the sound effects of added clapping or cheering are not pleasant or helpful. You have a cheerful and enthusiastic voice and face, so that other added sound is not needed. 😊
Hi Maria, I'd like to add the nordic walking technique to my beach walks. Any suggestions for the sand surface, or the poles, adjustable vs fixed length? Thanks for your comment and the instruction videos!
Hi just starting my self , as a beginner , please explain pole length and suggestions on if wrist straps are meant to be loose or supports for keeping hands in position on top of poles , thanks
Many thanks, I like your positive approach and find your tips really helpful 👏😊One question, I have just started Nordic Walk in a group and the teacher repeats that we need to be un-balanced, with our body forward, and that the poles help keeping the balance, I try but it feels extremely unnatural and discomforting, plus it has caused me knee pain. What is your advice? Thanks in advance! Look forward to your next video!
Hi Maria! Thank you for reaching out and voicing out your observations. Great that you are listening your body and signs it is telling to you! To me, you are right, when the walking does feel unnatural and hard, there is an issue to pay attention to. Without seeing your walking technique, I propose that you could continue getting used to the poles without actively using them. There is two phases to get comfortable prior using the poles: 1) walking without poles (as in this video) and 2) dragging the poles with your natural walking rhythm (see my video "How to use poles" czcams.com/video/srw2HYVCAO8/video.html). Even if this would take some weeks before you start using poles, I recommend that you set up your foundations well. The purpose of the poles, to my view, is to add on efficiency into your regular. Fore Seniors, poles can also help in keeping balance. Leaning forward becomes actual and natural, when you have practiced more Nordic Walking and want to increase the more speed and power. Finally, if you can, you could ask someone to take a video of your Nordic walk, which would help you to see where your technique might go wrong. I would be happy to hear if my advise was helpful!

Hello Paula! Thanks for the tip! 😉
Agree with your suggestion. Don't think it adds anything
