A day out in the truck talking about all kinds of random stuff! Quite new to this and still very much finding my way around vlogging! Don't judge me yet! I'm also trying out some new toys so sound may be funny at times or even none existant! Videos may also suddenly and randomly end! I have no beginning, I have no end... I just live for the middle bit!
Thank you Steve for doing a new vlog on mental health and I cannot wait for the vlog and keep up the good work.
Thanks James. Appreciate all your comments :-) cheers
Hi Steve , thank you very much for reading out my comment , have a great weekend with the family and stay safe and drive carefully 👍👍👍
Thanks James 👍
Hi Steve , another interesting vlog
As a new driver I can relate to a lot of that , some very wise advice , cheers 👍👍
I took an extended trailer into Baltic Wharf. Soooooo much fun!!! 😟😟😟😟
Eesh!
Hi Steve. Thankyou for another great vlog 👍keep them coming mate. Interesting to see how other people in same industry make a living. Gary
Thanks Garry. The industry has so many options and yet we all do the same thing... steer! Cheers!
@@UkTruckerSteveJane I prefer to aim rather than steer 😊
@@garysmith6756Yeah me too mate!
Hi Steve iam a new subscriber to your chancel also a Hgv driver . I have to thank you for bringing up the mental health topic. I have two mates that suffer and are drivers . When they are feeling down in the dumps we phone each other up and can be on the line for up to 1hour sometimes . Cheers bud
Hi Ken. Yes, for sure. It's good to chat. Breaks the day and stops the mind doing loop the loop. Cheers 👍
Your spot on Steve , with your comments at the end of the vlog
A little bit of kindness
As we are all wired differently
Can I just say on here to anyone who wishes to read it
Your a sound guy
And have helped me on numerous
occasions which I really appreciate being a new driver
You have a vast knowledge
A very kind helpful guy
every time I have asked a question
You have got back to me
Your advice has been second to none
Cheers Steve 👍👍
Hi Chris. Thanks so much for your message and very much appreciated. I remember how much I struggled to begin with and without the bonus of social media and the tools of our trade like satnav, laptops and mobile phones! Asking for help should never be a problem, for anyone. I have been lucky enough to have grown confidence, leaning upon some very talented and experienced drivers that I'm lucky enough to call my friends.
It's good to be able to pass some of that knowledge along :-)
Keep going, you're doing good! 👍
Cheers Steve 👍👍
Tramping is an absolute solitary work. It does effect mental health. I cant even bear the thought of sleeping in my truck for nights. Its soul draining
It's not for everyone for sure. I often look at all the trucks parked up in the morning and think.. all them families without their Mums or Dads at home... and largely due to overnight order pressures... and then I get home and order something for the following day... just as guilty!
Some good sound advice on mental health there mate, believe it or not I still get anxious when going to a different country etc, even after all my years on the road...
👍😊
Ps I thought early on in the Vlog you were saying that you were going to Southsea, I got all excited cos Portsmouth is my home town..
I have been all over Europe too. Things just seem different now. The roads have changed so much! At first I said I didn't want to go into Europe with the trucks... but I'm slowly starting to think.. actually... maybe! As long as I'm back for a Friday afternoon!
@@UkTruckerSteveJane It's ok once you're out here, it's just going back and forth across the channel that stresses me out...
And it may get worse..
Well, there are subjects in this video that I am already apprehensive about and immediately I feel a ton better about the future. Thanks for sharing your experiences Steve. This video is a must-watch.
Thanks Sy. Good luck for tomorrow! Kettle will be on when you've done!
