A day out in the truck talking about all kinds of random stuff! Quite new to this and still very much finding my way around vlogging! Don't judge me yet! I'm also trying out some new toys so sound may be funny at times or even none existant! Videos may also suddenly and randomly end! I have no beginning, I have no end... I just live for the middle bit!

Hi James and Jackie. Good to hear from you again, thanks for sticking with me! Erm... speed limits.. I think mostly ok. Let's face it, they pack enough into a day as it is! I'm always surprised at how far a driver can travel in just one day. Even when I drove the coaches and especially as a double crew, you could easily drive well into Europe within the legal hours.
Motorways in UK have a 60mph limit for HGV which sometimes I wish we could do but I feel 56 is fast enough. With the amount of RTC's that happen when most trucks can't even reach 56 I do wonder if raising the limit would be beneficial or just add to the problem. I know it's not always speed, but I believe many are caused by travelling too fast and too close. Let's work on that one first and then talk about raising the current speed limits. The faster they let us go, the more pressure that will inevitably be added to a day. Pressure to deliver required targets will, I believe add to the statistics. That's my thoughts anyway :-) Oh! Nearly forgot... Merry Christmas to you guys too... cheers!
@@UkTruckerSteveJane Hi, new in your channel. I don't think the speed should be increased just for safety reasons. Imagine your lorry in that video, you said you were very heavy, well, downhill could be lethal if higher speed is obtained.
You are right, many operators try to squeeze as much mileage as possible for the sake of productivity.
