    Plot:
    With the help of his elder brother, Sherlock Holmes along with his associate, Dr Watson, ventures out on a mission to thwart the devious designs of their arch-rival, Professor Moriarty.

    Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is a 2011 period action mystery film directed by Guy Ritchie and produced by Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey, and Dan Lin. It is the sequel to the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes, and features the Sherlock Holmesand Dr. John Watson characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The film's screenplay was written by Michele Mulroney and Kieran Mulroney. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law reprise their roles as Holmes and Watson, and were joined by Noomi Rapace as Simza, Stephen Fry as Mycroft Holmes, and Jared Harris as Professor Moriarty. The film follows an original premise incorporating elements of Conan Doyle's short stories "The Final Problem" and "The Empty House".
    In the film, Holmes and Watson travel across Europe with a Gypsy adventuress to foil an intricate plot by their cunning nemesis, Professor Moriarty, to instigate a war.

      It *is* cool. But it relies not at all on the character of Sherlock Holmes, of why they were in that forest, of who the bad guys were... it is a great scene, the best in the movie, but it could be in any movie.

      Slow mo done right. And attaching camera focus to limbs and other objects is a really cool idea. Guy Ritchie did a fine job.

      @@Walls2008 I think that this is piece of great cinema. I love this scene, but only thing that kinda breaks the immersion is little Hansel at the end. The accuracy is always weird to me, but I get it's the movie so I'm just going with the flow. Otherwise it's a great set up for a fight between Watson and Military man. Also I think they used right amount of shaky camera and slow mo.

      @@anggazacky2770 Wouldn't say it was the slow mo guys who shot it. Gavin and the company he film company he worked for before moving to Austin for Rooster Teeth filmed it. He was one of the cinematographers for this sequence.

    My dad but mainly his friends have some military training. We all watched it together and the moment at 4:34, all of them flipped out saying that’s how you do it! Deep breaths to slow your heart rate. Watching them watch this scene was the equivalent as a little girl seeing a real live princess at Disney for the first time.

      The movie takes place in 1890 if I’m not mistaken. Only 24 years before the First Great World War.
      I greatly appreciate how the history of A Game of Shadows ties in with real life revealing that, in the end...

    I watched this movie when I very first started smoking weed and this scene honestly blew me away with how good it was, I remember getting goosebumps watching it. I had to rewatch it like 5 times that night and was honestly the best feeling. This scene and movie is honestly one of my faves just cause of that 😜

    I had a nasty anxiety attack when i saw this for the first time, my disability came from a mortar and i didnt realise it but my friends said i was stiff as a board while watching and calling out enemy positions quietly and i remember specifically screaming very loud when little hansel went off and sitting in the fetal position for hours....... this scene is so real....

    What’s more about this scene - you see the mixture of arms and the change of warfare
    You see men armed with regular bolt action rifles the type of rifles used up to WW2, then you see semi-automatic pistols, the 1860’s Gatling gun, the full automatic machine guns, then the artillery - weapons that would make WW1 battlefields wasteland

    He can make a great Gangster Film and turn around and make a great Detective Action Thriller like the Sherlock Holmes films.

    ...from what I can see, the “little Hansel” was really close to the Big Bertha that the Germans used with terrific results during WWI. Why did they change the name? It’d have been cool to have such an historical reference in the movie...

      The Big Bertha guns didn't enter service until 1914. This movie is set in 1891.

      Big Bertha took something like three hours to cycle a round. There was no loading one up and firing blindly into the forest! Still, never let petty details like accuracy get in the way of great cinema!

      All actors have been busy and I assume it's been in developmental hell. In other words, they seem very keen on making a nearly perfect script. That sounds hopeful but at the same time the amount of rewrites and their ability to not make up their mind scares me a bit but we'll figure it all out by next year!

But when we got to the theatee his gf was like lets watch Sherlock. He was a bit disappointed. After we walked out he was like bruh! That was so good. Lolol
