Farmer's Daughter is New Truck Shopping

- Farmer's daughter's truck has been in the shop for more than 5 months with an electrical issue that can't be fixed. She is looking for a buy-out from Ram so she is in the market for a new truck. We looked at Chevys, Ram Rebels and Black Widows, and she test drove a Ram 1500 crew cab. Southern Maryland, USA
The 4 windows thing is for when you hop in mid August and it's 120 inside the truck.
My RAM has a long turning radius ,backing trailer a pain sometimes.
The first Ram I bought for some unknown reason the Hemi went bye bye and the dealer never said what went wrong. It only had 508 miles on it. They did give me a loner but it wasn't a truck. Then about a month later they called and said come out and pick up a new truck. Then the fight started over the extra add ons I had installed. I did have the paperwork on those items but before they would give me the new truck they wanted me to sign the paperwork first and I wouldn't do it. I said I want the money first before I make that commitment so after we talked they agreed. They even made me go out back where the other truck was and remove the plates. The next truck after driving it had its own issues with the whole front end. All the bolts holding the steering parts were loose. Got that fixed. I kept it for 2 years and went back to Chevrolet with a new one I ordered.
Just the thought of buying a new vehicle makes me cringe. Hopefully she has some success
I don't like the process either.
My wife worked for years at a Ford/Chevy dealership where we got employee A plan, the same as someone who worked at the factory. We could buy new for the price of used, and order the vehicle, to get only what we wanted. It took all the hassle out of the adventure.

I knew two people that bought the diesel in the 1/2 ton dodge when they came out and both had to buy a complete new motor at 67,000 miles, camshaft was worn out and also damaged some other stuff
we have cops pulling people over here for no seat belts all the time. now i have people in my town when they see a cop with no seat belt or not stopping or signaling or on their cell phone to get the car number call the non emergency number and report the. cause we ALL know you catch a cop breaking the law with proof you can NOT fine them!

I have a 2021 Chevy 2500, striped down, regular cab, 8’ box, work truck. A farm pickup. Yes, the seats suck. But the standard 6.6Lt gas is 401 hp . It’s zippy!
In our searches and test drives the last couple of days, we have not seen a "regular" pickup - one with a regular cab and 8' bed, not that she is in the market for one of those. But yeah I agree, my 2016 Ram with reg cab 8' bed has the 6.4Hemi is everything I need - no fancy bells and whistles. I would like to replace it but can't justify current prices.

They all have their faults. What is wrong wrong with gm?
The interiors normally start rattling and way before they should. They just have made a good truck since the mid 80's. When they went away from straight axles. Most all trucks these days are nothing more than a large car.
Farmer md umm seatbelts are manditory in every state and the fines are steep for not wearing them

Since we now have heated steering wheels, I think we need to rename them napkin holders. At least that is what I use mine for.
