My paternal grandmother was from County Clare. I couldn’t be more proud. She was an equestrian and came to the states as a young girl. She spoke of this beautiful landscape and shared tales of old.
Thank you for highlighting my grandmothers home.

Ireland had also been my dream , and Irish people and Clare county made it true. Seeing Ireland again, brings me back to those unique moments ;) Regards from the south of Brazil.

Also you should know one if your ancestors was a highly revered figure in France- Patrice de McMahon was a general in French army his earlier family probably arrived there with the 'flight of the wild geese' following the Treaty of Limerick of 1691. Patrice was later a General in the French army and was President of France for a while. Apart from their Co Clare roots Yes no doubt the McMahons have a proud and illustrious past. @@erinsavage5472 Hi Erin. I once had an O'Loughlin site but seems to have disappeared. The O'Loughlin name originated some time in the 900ADs from a single person who was the son of the ruling Lord of Corcomroe. The Irish spelling of it is Uí Lochlainn. When he came to power along with his brother who the O"Connors of Corcomroe come from he ruled over the East of Corcomroe which was also known as the Burren and his brother ruled over the west.
