  • Mick take us through the Medieval City of Kilkenny. He starts with Kilkenny Castle and then onto Thomastown. He returns to Kilkenny to show us the nightlife and the hustle and bustle about the place which is well known for its vibrance at night.

I was lucky enough to visit Kilkenny. My wife and I have been around the world and Kilkenny is the one town we both decided we could move to if we ever left the USA.

I took my daughter to Kilkenny when she was 20 yrs. old We met with the Egyptian swindlers, yes I am not making this up! They were not able to swindle us, however because I was too smart for them. I reported them to the Guardi even though they
had not committed any crime, I thought the police should know in case they do this kind of stuff all the time, or may try it again. Too complicated to properly explain, but believe me, they were not honest people. They were gorgeous (married couple both looked like models) But they did not swindle us!

Great information. It looks like a really wet and cloudy rural Northern France.

Wonderful little tour with Mick. I appreciate the pace at which you speak, Sir! Not too "pushed" - too fast or too 'hard sell'. Made me want to visit alright. (Mission accomplished)

I'm descended from the Butler's of Kilkenny. Still got the surname too through a line of sons. I comes from Newfoundland, which still has a strong Irish culture. Ireland is definitely a place I wants to visit at some point. Kilkenny specifically.

I absolutely loved Kilkenny. It will be on my iteinerary when I go back to Ireland. One stop not mentioned is Matt the Millers Pub which had some great trad music while I was there. One of the impressive things are the great B & Bs found in this city.

+Margaret Foyle It's always amazing to know where your family came from Margaret. :D Have you been able to discover where exactly in Kilkenny they came from? If you need any help with your research, you could pop over to our Community Forum where Ireland experts and other Irish descendants are always happy to lend a hand! :) goo.gl/qnhdeg

Yes and this picture here of me is when I was in Ireland on a Cruise we took on this river for a few hours.. I LOVED it there and hoping to go back next year... I will I know my Great-Grandfather was a Foyle (Great Aunt said originally our name was Guilfoyle). My ancestors left during the potato famine. My Great-Grandmother was a Hand (last name but originally an O'Hand) same thing both changed when they came to America. We were mistreated here in America I think the Irish when we came here.. thank you...
