- This video goes over what it takes to swap out the standard Ford Bronco shocks and replace them with Ford take off parts from a factory Sasquatch Bronco.
You can find OEM Sasquatch shocks to do this install yourself with from the Bronco6G forums, Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist for reasonable prices.

You can't beat ford's 4 cyl ecoboost engines. Way more reliable than the v6. Plenty of power. And being a stick shift makes it that much cooler tooling around! I am jealous of the sasquatch package! Wish I would have ordered it 😢 and the pre wired accessories. But for 31,500 I believe msrp was, what a steal

My other bronco (the green machine) in most of my videos, is a Badlands. Unfortunately I didn't record the install of the perch collar lift as I wanted to get it done quickly at the time
I know its been a while since you did this. I have an OBX non sasquasch. It is possible to just slap some 35s sas take offsand be fine with everyday driver. Not doing anything offroad for now
Apologies, but just saw this. At a minimum you will need to remove the crash bars but Im not sure if the fenders will rub on tires etc.. check bronco6g forums, someone out there has to have done this or at least tried it
What gear ratio is on this? 4.7 comes with sas and does it make a huge difference?
Good point. Should have titled the video "Getting Sasquatch Looks On Non-Sas Bronco". Gearing is def lower on the outer Banks but my Badlands non-sas is 4.7 due to the manual config

You'll need a 3rd brake light extension. Plenty out there but this one works just fine

to be honest with you man, i'm running the sasquatch wheels on my non squatch bronco and the third brake light sits flush with the 35 inch tire, you'd be fine without an extension

There are holes made specifically on the factory 3rd light for a 35" tire you don't need a kit you don't need any extra parts save your money.
If you go 37" then buy an extension bracket.
Do you have the proper torque specs for all the bolts & control arms since it sounds like you need to loosen them to avoid removing axle nut?

And how does the truck perform now with the shocks and bigger tires? The outer banks wasn’t geared for the 35” tires
The suspension is night and day difference, the OEM non SAS suspension was super soft. The OB with the SAS suspension is worlds better and have no complaints running the 35s (technically the Goodyears are 34.4 or something).

Lol so far surprisingly no complaints. My neighbor across from me has a 4runner he's always working on as well :)
Some people get the Sasquatch package just for the lockers and lower gearing then upgrade suspension, wheels and tires.
Personally I love the stock billstiens for on and off road.
Question do Sasquatch broncos come with different control arms? Also just found the channel pretty good content.
You should make a video of the underbody protection of both the badlands and the outer banks. I have been thinking about overlanding and the Bronco seems to be an option. Just don’t know if the full underbody protection is worth it compared to just going aftermarket. I also haven’t seen anything like that on the web either.

The control arms are the exact same on both. Good idea on doing a comparison. I don't intend to take the OBX on any crazy offroading so aside from the front plastic skid plate, I really don't know what it looks like under it, but I will check. I assume it could be all plastic.

Can you reuse bottom bolts from the stock shocks? I purchased a Sasquatch set and they didn’t come with them.
The tricky part will be how you get the bolts out of the shocks you have. If you can do so without cutting or bending them then they could be reused otherwise you could order a cheap 1" level kit like rough country or zone and those come with new bolts. I prefer mine with a front level anyways to even the front height, but your preference
Or you could go down to Ford and order new bolts from them

@@DannyFollett-xs5xi yeah ford can usually get them in a day or two turnaround if you go that route, they may even have some at your service shop
how many extra inches did that give to you once you lifted up with that sasquatch suspension?
Gains were:
1.25" in rear wheel well / 3" in front wheel well but the front has a 1.5" leveling kit on it.
1.5" from ground to control arm bracket with the original 32" tires. Likely 2.6" now with the "35s" that are actually
34.4". 34.4-32 = 2.4/2= extra 1.1". Complicated but that should be right. 😂

When ordering my Bronco, I ordered the SAS package even though I knew I would be upgrading my struts, springs, control arms, wheels, and tires. Why did I pay 5k for the SAS option? The 4.7 front/rear gear ratios by itself would have cost over $5k as an aftermarket conversion, which alone made the SAS worth the price.
And that was a great decision for you, I'm not trying to persuade anyone to not make that decision. But for those that don't have the SAS package, this video applies.
Fwiw I have 4.7 in my Badlands and am regearing to 5.29. But this outerbanks is a daily driver
How did it affect noise and mileage?
I didn't notice any difference in noise. The OEM softop is actually a lot quieter compared to our other bronco with the bestop soft top.
Mileage dropped from 18 down to 17mpg but I kinda drive with a heavy foot
If I can ask what did you pay for the shocks ?
I actually traded my OEM hood for the shocks. If you look on Bronco6G, Facebook mkt, craigslist you can probably find some. I was willing to pay up to $500 before I found the trade

The problem now is you just lost all warranty on suspension, brakes and anything related. Ask me how I know?
I refused extended warranties and decided Ford service isn't gonna touch my trucks. Appreciate the concern however

@@supermike0822 exactly, level can be taken out of I ever need to. I had a buddy tow his jeep home just so he could put back on the OEM tires and take out the tuner so it would be under warranty then tow it to the dealership 😂

That’s only half Sasquatched. Anyone can lift and put bigger tires on but you still don’t have all the Sasquatch drivetrain parts.
True true. This doesn't have the front lockers or gear ratio of a Sasquatch bronco but I'm not going to be doing any crazy wheeling in this one
And no not anyone has or can do thier own lift.. people pay a shit ton to have suspension worked on. I'm just showing how easy it can be.
@@greenmachine4x4 Great job with the video! I like the trick with the lower shock bolts. When you put it back together did you use different bolts and reverse them? I just didn’t want anyone thinking it was now Sasquatched.
@@swooshdave thank you! And yes I had extra bolts that came from a rough country level kit that I used in reverse .
I agree, you can't say it's something without it being all the way. That's a $7,000 option on the base model for a reason.
I tried this but forgot the loosen the lower control arm. I think I broke my cv axle.
I did that as well my first time adding a level because I took the axel out of the wheel housing and had trouble getting it back in. Painful mistake. In this video I don't do that, just loosen the control arm so I don't have to

not sure, I just forced everything back into place and put the OEM strut back in. I had problems reconnecting the upper control arm after I had inserted the new strut, I tried everything to get it to go back in. But it just felt like it wouldn't line up. It feels like the CV was pulled out or something because it wouldn't pivot up no matter what we did. I reversed everything I did and my brother just forced everything back with rachet straps. I'm just going to drive down to the autoshop on Monday and have them fix it. @@greenmachine4x4

Not sasquatch until you get the 4.7 gears and lockers, but it's a poser. Are you leaving the Wildtrak beauty rings?
Agree on the added gearing sas-package provides but going this route solves for the ride height and appearance of paying for Sasquatch. This is fine for most people and I have my badlands bronco for off-road.
Absolutely keeping the black beauty rings not a big fan of the standard beauty rings.
She (OB)😊 looks much much better... I've got 20k on my '22 Wildtrak... Love it. My wife wants a Bronco Sport... 😅

Agreed it's not technically the SAS package but for some, this process achieves the look of a SAS bronco.

From all I've seen and heard a bronco of any trim or model level is the last vehicle I'd buy and build for any purpose or use,,, well maybe if had a gun held to my head and told a bronco or any import, well then I'd take the bronco of course
You are entitled to steal others opinions and make them yours but I own two for a reason
The bronco is the least boring car on the road IN MY OPINION and the most capable for my purposes. Drive a Tesla and stay boring, I'll keep my manual off road vehivles
@@greenmachine4x4 only express my own opinions, buddy's bronco only had 2510miles miles on it and we weren't even playing that rough and the tie rod broke, at roughly 7500 miles the steering rack was binding due to excessive wear at both ends where shaft goes in&out, and the soft top leaked pretty good in even modest rain,,, he took it back to where had purchased for the tie rod and the steering rack,ford was ready bad about fixing it and the leaking soft top got told that's just a common thing with with all convertibles and soft tops, while he was arguing with service manager I walked the lot, his old jeep was still sitting in the way back row waiting to be sent to auction, when we left he was back in his old jeep and had a check in his pocket,, others have spoken with have had similar experiences,, a tesla??? hahahaha,,, no ev in my foreseeable future of any brand name,, sticking with my 25 year old trusty rusty jeep heap of _ , only has 300k so gonna run long time yet
@@edzimdahl1158 sorry to hear your friend had this much trouble. I've read a few as well but the percentage of "bad" broncos out there are minimal - same thing with jeeps, most are great but there's always a few bad apples and the majority are with the 2.7L engine.
I owned a wrangler as well but the ride quality in the bronco is so much nicer than my JL. Really in every category I care about it's just a better built truck
@@greenmachine4x4 ride quality and the seat in my brothers 2010 2dr wrangler absolutely suck, I was moms caregiver for her last couple years after she passed caught a ride back to wis with my brother,,, a horrible experience,, my 98 grand cherokee(the one mentioned in my other comment) is like a luxury car compared to it, and a coworker had a very similar experience as my buddy with her bronco but at a different dealership than my buddy, both had been purchased new
