- Today we install the Bilstein shocks that come standard on the Sasquatch Ford Bronco on my non-sasquatch Ford Bronco Big Bend. Will they fit? That's what we find out in today's video! I also discuss the change in ride height and driving dynamics as well as how to do the installation.

Just got these same shocks and I have the same exact big bend. Excited to do this! Super helpful 😎👍🏼
Great video!!! Your Bronco becomes much more attractive and I’m sure better for off-roading!
Thanks for the time you spent by recording all installation details!
Thank you for watching the video! I'm excited to take it on some more trails!
Awesome, awesome video. Far more informative than I expected.
Glad you found it helpful!
I have a Base 2 door and Im thinking on doing this, picking up the sas tires today and might get the shocks too
Can't wait to see you go off roading
Awesome video bro, the Branco is looking great and awesome, keep up the great work. Nice height. Great video god bless
Appreciate it my man! Definitely liking the look of it myself
@@SchwayZ yeah super fire
your mechanic is good and willed to go the extra mile. Many mechanics are lazy these days
Nice video! Glad everything everything fit right! Some are saying that you can't put a 2.7 sas suspension on a 2.3 lol buy clearly that's not an issue unless there are lomg term concerns
Yep the previous owners was 2.7L Badlands. Been one for about 7 months and so far so good
The spring rates are different but not by much. 2.7 suspension on a 2.3 is just slightly stiffer, but not much.
Just got WT wheels and bilsteins for my non squatch obx. Does all of your goat modes and everything work properly?
Nice
Hi, did you know if the Bracket - Shock Absorber of a non sasquatch are compatible with sasquatch shock absorber ?
Awesome video. May I ask what the torque specs were, that your mechanic used for the installs?
I wish I had a good answer for you... I don't know the exact specs
@@SchwayZ thanks for getting back to me. We were able to find out. Thank you so much for the video!! Super helpful!
@@Repin5 glad you got it figured out! Thanks for watching!
Make sure you have the M220 axles if you have the M210 you’ll be running into front Differential breakage.. M220 comes with 4.46 or 4.70 gear ratio
Question. I have a 2.3 L Manual transmission 2 door Non sasquach. This has the 4.46 gears and came with 32'' tires. Would it be safe to upgrade to 35' tires without upgrading to 4.70 gears or is this not recommended.
@@samfloresg safe yes but hard on MPG’s and transmission. I have 33’s and I have to be running 80mph on the highway so that 6th gear doesn’t bog. If your wanting to go bigger invest in the 4.70 front differential, you will also need the 32 spline half shafts, 4.70 rear axle, Ford calibration to flash the ecu with the new gears. You’ll be in it for about $5g’s. Lethal Performance sells a whole package to do this at a discount price. Also Spicer is releasing kits this spring and summer as well.
Reason why we’re only going up to 33” tires
would you happen to have the part number for the sasquatch shocks
Thank you for doing this. I just installed Badlands 33" takeoffs on my non-SAS OBX. I want just another inch of lift, so this looks perfect. My main concern is the street/highway ride. Can you confirm that the street ride with the SAS Bilstein take-offs is smoother than the stock Hitachi shocks?
Good question. Honestly I'm not really able to tell a big difference between the 2. I initially thought it would ride a lot softer but after actually doing the swap it was hard to tell. It still rides nice but I can't say it's noticeably better. It does feel a little more top heavy because of the extra few inches on the suspension and the larger wheels and tires I have. Nothing too bad but a little worse than before the wheel and tire swap
@@SchwayZ I'm considering doing this swap strictly for on road driving comfort vs. the stock suspension. Do you feel its worth it for a better on street ride (if no off roading)? Love the videos thanks!
@R8_Livin honestly I didn't notice much of a difference in ride quality with the bilsteins. I thought it would go over speed bumps and dips a lot better but its almost no difference in my personal experience. It may be just a tad bit softer but it's not very noticeable which surprised me. So if you're upgrading just for ride quality I don't think it's worth it
Did you have to use FORScan when you change to the SAS wheels ? Got the crash bar’s removed going to install the rims and tires..
Looks awesome! I thought the Sas upper control arms and trailing arms were different than a non sas?
Thanks! They shouldn't be. I even got the control arms from the previous owner of the sasquatch wheels i purchased and they were identical to the ones on my non-sas one.
@@SchwayZ Great to know. Keep up the good work.👍
So the stock UCAs and everything else work with the SAS shocks ? I have a non-SAS OBX with an ICON 3” lift and 37s and would love to install these shocks and get a little more height.
I’m sure some different UCAs would be a big plus especially for getting extra travel out of those.
Is it only shocks adding height or does the big bend sasquash come with a 1 1/2 inch lift with sasquash package?
So the tires and shocks add the height. So if you just add shocks it will add a little height and if you add the tires it will add some more. The heigh of my car now is the same as a sasquatch big bend bronco. Hopefully that answers your question
Run away from the “Bronco specialist” shops because there’s nothing different from SAS vs NON SAS except the shocks, tires, and lockers. Would be surprised if they understood suspension in general
The sas has larger axles pinion gears front rear lockers struts also larger A arms rocker arms sway bar and sway bar disconnect… huge difference

So here's a question:
I have a 2024 Big Bend 4 door non- sasquatch and I just purchased take-off Bilsteins from a 2023 Badlands 4 door non-sasquatch.
Are these the same shocks that you just installed or are they different?? Because they look the same. If they are the same, can I expect similar results of a 1" lift?
I believe the badlands came with the same sasquatch suspension (bilsteins) regardless of whether they were sasquatch or not. You should be able to just have them installed like I did and that would add about 1"-2" lift
Thank you for that! Whats what I thought @@SchwayZ
Before you added the SAS Shocks, did you notice any rubbing with the larger tiers?
Good question. No I did not. I had to remove my crash bars for the install. I made a video about putting thr 35s on before the shocks
czcams.com/video/c3K3MDvOaNI/video.html
Hey, Schwayz great video! I’m about to do this to my black diamond and was wondering If you were able to put the crash bars back on after the suspension install? I’d prefer to keep my crash bars on, in case of a crash. Lol
@@collinknox6005 so you can reinstall but there's a chance it will rub the tire at full lock. So if you plan on offroading it's probably best to keep them off. The sasquatch bronco doesn't come with crash bars from the factory
You could purchase some high clearance crash bars that allow you to run larger tires and still maintain crash protection.
does this throw off the alignment? I've always wondered..
So it's recommended that I get an alignment because the suspension angles have changed. It still drives straight down the road but I plan to get an alignment to avoid any unnecessary wear on the tires.
Did your bilstein takeoffs come from another 4 door? 2.3 or 2.7l engine?
They came from a 4 door with the 2.7L. Mines the 2.3L so it didn't make a difference
I don’t understand why the “experts” said they wouldn’t work. That was literally as basic as it gets for suspension installations.
Getting the shock out without disconnecting the CV or the LCA is risky business
Make sure you changed your dif gear ratio, or you’re going to not have a car after 10k miles
I’m assuming you had to get it aligned?
Yes! I forgot to mention that in the video but I recommend getting it aligned
Nice video man. I sent you a DM on Instagram about maybe collaborating for some content with either my Bronco or my Mustang. Let me know if your interested in making some content. Good luck with the build.
