- Installing 35" tires on a new Bronco is easy.
Yes, you read that right, installing 35" tires on the 2021+ Ford Bronco is easy. Remove the crash bars from the front and rear of the front wheel wells and the 35s will bolt right in. BUT, there are somethings you need to watch out for.
Stop in at the Northridge4x4 DIY garage and stick around for a few minutes as Tech Tim goes over how to stuff 35s under the Ford Bronco and the things you want to look out for.
The parts shown in the video are all available at Northridge4x4:

I think it would be interesting to talk about the differences that IFS gives with scrub and other variables since so many of us are used to solid axles.
I guess I'm in need of some advice after coming across your video!
'23 Bronco 2 Door Outer Banks, non-sas
Stock 255x70x18
In 2 weeks, will be installing the following:
Ready Lift 2" blocks
17" ProComp Series 32 Wheels with -6mm offset
315x70x17 Falcon Wildpeak A/T3W
Was only planning to remove crash bars, but it sounds like you're saying I'll also need wheel spacers?
Thank you! And great video!
The factory Sasquatch wheels have an inch more backspace (25mm) over the non-squatch models to help clear the 35s. So you may need wheel spacers. We haven't done 35s on OE wheels, so we can't answer this for sure.
Thanks for the props.
Great info, though once you got in to all that backspace and all with the 35s, I got lost. Just sort of looking ahead on when I replace my Black Diamond stock tires and I want to go to 35s without mods (if I can). I have a decent stock rim (not steely, but next one up) and hoping I can just change the tire size to 35s and think about the wheels at a later time.
I'm showing that the steel and aluminum wheels for the Black Diamond non-Squatch is a 17" dia. x 7.5" width and has a +55 offset. The Squatch wheels used with 35s are 17" x 8" w/ +30 offset.
If you put 35s on your stock wheels, you will more than likely be rubbing up against your sway bar when you turn. That extra 20mm of offset helps push the tire further out to avoid that problem.
If you don't want to go with different wheels, take a look at a set of wheels spacers, like these from BORA:
www.northridge4x4.com/part/wheel-spacers-adapters/21bronco1-00x4-bora-1in-wheel-spacer-kit-6x5-5
They are 1" (25.4mm) wide, so they will basically be doing the same thing as going from a +55mm offset to a +30 offset.
@Northridge4x4 Appreciate that quick feedback. Sounds like it needs to be wheels and tires at same time though it sounds like even choosing the wheel needs to be pretty specific.
@@kirkeric For the wheel, go with a 17x8.5 or 17.9 with an offset in to 0mm to +30mm range.
The +30mm offset will match the Sasquatch wheel and that's the minimum you'd want. The 0mm will move the wheel out another 1-1/8" and that would be the maximum you'd want.
Take a look at the TeraFlex Nomad wheels like we used on our Bronco that have a 0mm offest and will give your Bronco that aggresive poke of the tires:
www.northridge4x4.com/part/non-beadlock-wheels/1058049-teraflex-nomad-split-spoke-off-road-wheel-17x8-5-6x5-5-metallic-black
Or the Icon Rebound PROs which have a +25mm offset, that will tuck the tire under the fender a little more:

@@northridgenation Hey Brotha, I really appreciate you taking the time to provide this info. I have copied and saved this so I don't have to look it all up again when I'm ready. Those are a couple of nice wheels too (even though out of stock lol). Lastly, just so I don't ruin my welcome, on the tires, any recommended 35s? And I'm one that is less off road but like the capability when I need it, so I don't need a hugely aggressive looking tire but something that will travel well day to day too. You are a wealth of info. Much appreciated.
@@kirkeric So far we've been really happy with the Patagonia X/T tires on our Bronco, they are a Hybrid tire, so they are in between an A/t and a M/T.
Check them out in this video:
czcams.com/video/zNOq2EAwcrs/video.html
But there are other good tires too, like the Maxxis Razr A/T, Check those out here:

This is a great video! In fact it made me rethink 35’s. That said. I have a big bend with 255/75/17’s. Do you think I can just fit 285/75/17’s safely on the same 7.5 wheel with no rub and keep the crash bars? Thank you!
No. You have to remove the crash bars for 35s.
Looking to buy oem takeoffs to put on our outer banks. The takeoffs are 35" and from a badlands I believe. Other than removing crash bars, and possible rubbing at the extreme ends of the turning radius, any thing else I should consider?
If those take-offs are from a Badlands Sasquatch, you'll have no issues. Just pull the crash bars and run 'em.
Have you had any issues running 35s with the m190? I’m scared of running them and breaking something bigger than a tie rod while wheeling
So far we haven't had any problems. We'd definitely be posting that up if and when it happens. We don't really expect too many issues with 35s. The M190 is bigger than the M186 D30 that the Jeeps run and they do pretty good with 35s.
Can you get by with just a 2 inch lift kit. I am looking for the aggressive look it will not be used off road. I ordered a big bend.
Running stock wheels / tires?
I've got a 2023 Bronco Outer Banks Non-SAS 2.7L. I was thinking of going with the TIS 555sb 18x9 +20mm and the Hercules TIS offroad TT1 35x12.5R18. Would this fit my bronco?
They'll be tight if you have no lift.
I saw you showed the v6 models. I have the 2.3L would that be enough to haul my 35s or should I just go 33s?
We would really recommend changing the axle gear ratio if you wanted to go 35s.
@@northridgenation is 4.46 ok for 35’s? Ty
@@mutmasterj In general, yes, that's not that big of a jump from 4.46 to 4.70 that the Squatch on 35s come with.
Hi! Great video! Quick question, I currently have a 2 inch Bilstein lift kit running 35 inch tires, but the on road ride quality is awful! Do you think I should be good off roading going back to stock suspension? I appreciate your support. I have a Black Diamond non sasquatch.
I have bilstein 6112 coilover kit and icon upper control arms and KM Mesa wheel 17x8.5 +00
And Mickey Thompson Baja tires
With only 35s, it might be best to look for a take-off Sasquatch suspension or take a look at the Old Man Emu suspensions for the Bronco: czcams.com/video/U85bK0xCTkI/video.html
You could run stock, but you'd probably have interference.
@@northridgenation I am in seattle but willing to ride all the way to your store. How much would you charge me for the install? I think I would go with the “Light Kit” Do you think I would get a softer ride? Current ride is stiff! Thanks a lot
i have a base 2.7 big bend wanted to add 35s with these wheels "KMC - 541 - Matte Bronze W/ Black Lip - 17X8.5. 0mm offset"
That's the same spec wheels we used. 17x8.5 w/ 0mm offset, so your would be very similar to ours as far as wheel poke.
@@northridgenation awesome will eventually lift but love the squat look 😅
How does it affect the acceleration? Bc nonsaquash bronco have a 3.7 diff relation and sasquash have a 4.7 relation.
It is a little more sluggish, but that 10 speed is magic, you really don't notice it too much.
Would it be smarter to just get a beefier tire rod instead of a sleeve?
Right now there are no true HD tie rods with real tie rods available. There are a few companies building aftermarket units that have Heim joints, but they do not travel as much as the OE TREs.
Icon has now release some beefier tie rods for the Bronco, we'll be doing an installing video soon. In the meantime, you can check them out here:

Icon has now released their HD Tie Rods for the Bronco. These thing are beefy and are a lot bigger than the OE tie rods.

Stay tuned for a full install video in the near future.
Could I do 35s on stock black diamond wheels ?
That's exactly my question. lol Best I've heard is yes but still want to confirm.
You can, but they will rub unless you add in wheel spacers.
If they rub, they do not fit.
Check out the follow-up video where we installed an Old Man Emu suspension.
Sounds like you should have just got the sasquatch package.
Well for people who can’t get the Sasquatch or can afford it, these are informative videos for people to see what they can do to their broncos that don’t have the Sas pack
Sounds like you need a hug
The Sasquatch package costs 6k and the wheel and tire setup isn't that great. You're much better off taking that 6k and choosing your own parts
@@cameron1912 But look at what all you get, upgraded gear ratios with locker, updated steering components, proper lift without cheesy spacers, wheels and tires alone would be over $4000, and to top it all off you get a warranty. I think people have their heads up their butts not to get the sas pkg if that what you are going for. And if you don’t like the wheels, sell them. allot of people would like to have them on their standard height Bronco’S for the extra width and aggressive look. People need to use there heads, even if your not going to take your Bronco on the trails, the other items pay for themselves. But to each their own, if you in the end want to spend more, go for it.
Please for the love of god. Don’t use those tie rod sleeves! They are meant to fail so your rack doesn’t.
Easy,
Buy a Jeep instead.
LoL
😂🤣😂 We've already got plenty of Jeeps in the Northridge4x4 fleet.
