Ricoh GR how to Image Sync + Lr Editing

  • I've been asked a few times if I edit the Ricoh GR’s RAW files in camera and then transfer to my mobile for posting, or how I edit my work when out shooting so I thought I would do a workflow video from transferring the RAW images using the Ricoh "Image Sync" app to a mobile device and then editing them in Lightroom Mobile. I’ll be using my iPad mini but the principles are the same for the iPhone, not being an Android user I am not 100% if it will be identical using them but I would assume that the process will be much the same… I edit here a street portrait in colour and then reset everything and edit the same image in Black and White, I have time marked the video so you can easily find the different stages in this process I hope you enjoy and please like and subscribe for more Ricoh GR & general photography content from a Scottish base professional photographer!

This video is for transferring files from either the Ricoh GRII, GRIII & GRIIIX which have the NFC feature, basically how to connect your phone to the Ricoh GR cameras including GRii GRiii & GRiiix and importing the photos to your smart phone - then how to edit RAW photos in Lightroom Mobile.....

The edits you made to this photo was dramatic. I can't wait to have a better command of the LR tools myself. Thanks for posting!

Great video thank you! Clear and practical example of how to use Lightroom. To date I have found it a bit overwhelming. 🙏😎

Have you experimented with using the camera match profiles? You can use Positive or Negative Film as a starting point for an edit that way

@dylanrotich Yes I have had a play with them but still prefer to start from an untouched raw image, I did think of including them in the video but wanted to keep it simple and to the way I normally work. I might include it in a future video tho👍🏻
