You are a great source of KTM info.
Thanks for the video, just changed my KTM air filter with the DNA one.
Do you have any Harley stuff on this channel? Let's colab!
😃nice job on your video hand offs my man. 😉 great stuff as always.
Cool video! I got my stickers thanks again man much appreciated!
Glad to hear you got them!
Man how bikes have changed over the years,on my old vulcan its just one bolt on the side, pull the cover put ur new filter in lol, cool video mario lookin forward to the Rottweiler instal!
Rottweiler video goes up next Thursday. Easy to get to the filter on my other KTM, just pop off the plastic side cover...this one, not so much.
You are awesome. Thank buddy. Helped me a lot
Glad it helped!
Keep the awesome vids coming, I just purchased the stage 3 rottweiler kit for my 1190r and I think you video on that is really gonna help me out doing it myself lol I can't wait t get into it , as well the fuel float fix thanks again I had to do that lol , you just need to do a video on front fork removal and as I am going with a touratech extreme travel suspension upgrade , well keep up the awesome work
I would say my fork fluid is about due to be changed so that video may be coming soon.
When i seen the Ad flick up on my phone, I was hoping it was the Rottweiler Installation, oh well.... I sit & wait.... it's coming soon tho 👍, keep up the good work Mario.
Good news is my Rottweiler video goes up in a week so maybe you'll get it by then.
Thanks
17k on original air filter? 😮 Whats the reccomend service interval? I just bought a 2015 with 12k miles. Opened the air box to reveal the original filter as well. Almost cried. Been worried it may have cause premature engine wear. 😢 My new filter is a OEM KTM filter but the filter pleates run vertical. Not horizontal like the one installed. Thoughts?
Lastly. Do you reccomend running some sort of ore filter or rain sock on the intake tubes? I'm reading guys are using cut off women's nylons and a rubber band. I was thinking of buying a rain sock for a harley and cutting it to fit and using a rubber band. Or.. Perhaps buying a sheet of course grade UNI filter and stuffing it in front of the vent. Thoughts on that? Thanks!
That would be awesome , I have tore into my bike and I think I have figured it out , a lot more plastic had to come off than I thaught lol , anyways I had one question, I just installed the rottweiler stage 3 kit in my 1190r , in the instructions they say you dont need the snorkels anymore , my thaught was they still fit , so why would you not put them on and get a steady flow cool air getting rammed in there when your on the hiway? Just my thaughts anyways I was wondering you out yours back in , I know for my bike it says you can shelf them
Because now you have an open airbox so no need for the snorkels. The snorkels on the factory airbox are the only inlets but with the Rottweiler set up it can intake air from all angles to the snorkels would only restrict airflow.
I have been running the KTM pre filters, noticed when cleaning, it feels like there is a steel mesh screen in there, that moves ?? Is this removable? Can I clean this too? Thanks! Hey, great vids, keep it up
Are those the ones in the front of the bike?
@@2WR yes, (thanks for the reply)
Tried to snap a pic, but I guess I cant on this..
Was this the OEM/1st filter change, with 17k miles?
Yep
Why on earth did they make you remove the tank and crashbar to exchange the filter... It's an adventure bike, utterly rediculous.
Crash bars can technically stay on for this specific job (need to come off for checking/adjusting valves). While it seems like a lot, I can have it down to the airbox in under 15 min, of course I can have my 890 down to the airbox in 15 seconds so…
@@2WR still... Doing it on the road during a stopover is quite a task. You have put the idea of the rottweiler kit in my head though ;)
True (though I've had the tank off on road trip before and NBD), but you've got (depending on riding conditions) 9300 miles before air filters with the stock setup. I've checked the Rotty (with pre-filter) after far more than that and the actual filer is still oiled and clean as can be.
What. . . it's MORE work than a 950/990 Adv?? Ridiculous. No way I'm taking a tank off and crash bars etc just to check/replace the air filter. LMAO. . .and it's no bigger than my Honda CT90 air filter?! Bwaaahaha! Crazy. . . the 950 filter is nearly 3X as big.
KTM, you really, really suk at some things. . . .
