The segment is led by the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 while the Hyundai Eon was the only close competitor. Now with the launch of the Renault Kwid, the established rivals have some tough competition. All three cars draw power from 800cc, 3-cylinder engines and are light in weight and high on mileage.

I am using eon since 2012 ie almost 9 years. It's 1.5 lakhs kilometers now. I am very much satisfied with this car. It's awesome. I am stable as well as very rash driver. Alto is no competition for eon. I have dragged it against bigger cars on highways. I don't think even Kwid can win drag race against it. Built quality, interiors, aerodynamic, space, stability...... Everything is just great.
I own Hyundai eon era +, 800 cc, 2015 model. As per my view top 10 pros and cons
Pros:
1. Good mileage in both city and highway at 75 to 85 kmph speed
2. Less maintenance and spare parts cost
3. Stylish interior and exterior under this segment
4. Car stability and braking is good (
I'm thinking about buying a 2nd hand petrol Eon 2018 model (only 10,000 km run) priced at 3.20 lakh on OLX which can be negotiated to 3 lakhs easily. Is it a good deal or overpriced? If overpriced, how much maximum amount should I offer? Also my daily run will be around 220kms, so when should I install a CNG kit? Immediately after buying or doing any particular amount of kilometers? Because suppose if I get 20kmpl mileage it'll cost me approximately 1100 rs on petrol fuel which will be around 30,000rs monthly which is too high. I will highly appreciate if you clear my doubts and suggest me something else if this is going to be financially efficient.
@@NM-jf9wv if car is in good condition 3.20 is also a great deal, but try to negotiate as much as you can. If you don’t consider boot space, it’s great idea to install CNG. If boot space and fuel efficient is required then good to go with Diesel engine.
For how long the spare psrts availability will not be a concern If i buy in 2024
I’m using eon it’s a very good and beautiful car with good mileage and good pickup and comfortable for long distance driving

I hav been driving eon from last 4 yers , almost 64000 km now . This Car is superb. Avg mileage 20km + , even 25 km in long highway drive. Zero maintenance cost. I am happy eon customer

Have been using Eon Magna Plus since 23rd March 2012. Have checked mileage 4 times with full tank to full tank travels and she always gave me 24 mileage. Low maintenance and quality interiors. In 2012 no car in this segment offered this much facilities as Eon did. It's value for money.. Sad that Hyundai stopped it. Instead they could have introduced a facelifted Eon.
Could you clarify whether we can upgrade the tires of qwid to higher size and add alloy wheels too?

+Alvin William with the 3 nut design of the hub, it will be difficult to find upsize tyres, but I too think this car needs a 1 size up for its tyres. The wheel arches look big enough to support one size higher.
Ya we can. we can up size to 14 with profile tyres. it will provide a duster look to your kwid.
Eon looks interior engine over all best choice . Long and city drive both.

i bought my eon 4 years ago. i have never had any complaints with it so far. i am very happy i made a good choice that period because i had decided to go for the kwid that time. since they did not provide me the car even after 6 months from the time of booking, i went for the eon. i can say it has never disappointed me.

Today i saw baleno and kwid back to back. I was surprised to know kwid was looking better to me. That time i was wishing kwid should release a 1.3L engine option.

+MotorBeam Google that platform. It is an open platform used by 4 manufacturers. It can handle upto 1.8 L engine and AT. This car itself is blueprinted uptil 1.3L with AT. 1.0 with AT is launching this year. It's an open platform, research it.

There's already a 5-month waiting time for the top RxT (Opt) variant of the Kwid, where I inquired, in Hyderabad. RxT (Opt), which has that driver-airbag, could be punching way above its weight, against rivals such as Wagon R LXi and i10 Magna.
+btarunr Renault did not anticipate such high demand. Their production also stopped for sometime due to the floods.
+MotorBeam They probably wanted to play safe and avoid a Datsun Go debacle. Renault-Nissan went into Datsun Go hoping for this kind of demand, and it bummed very badly.
Hyundai eon beats d rest... Kwid performance is very poor wid ac.. Cabin noise, suspension is bit rough.... Eon is d leader in this segment..

MotorBeam: Have you shown the 100 to 0 Breaking performance in time ? Is it not shown better in distance? usually seen it represented in how many Meters the car stops (reached 0 kmph) when braked from 100 KMPH. Pls clarify.

The 1000cc version is planned for mid-2016 launch, probably by August this year as stated by Renault India. It definitely isn't gonna be launched in March.

Hyundai Eon is best best and super best car in these segments... very smooth , low maintenance, perfect pickup and mileage, nice interior, super dashboard quality, comfortable seating .... but boot space is quite low compare with kwid.

Kwid is excellent in milage, road grip,look, but begining pick up is low. Running speed is excellent.
Yes pickup is weak in kwid but space design and steering is good. I had eon few years ago it's a good car too no problem but design isn't that good and few days ago I drove my friends alto bs6 it's gearbox and pulling us good but steering is too tight compared to eon and kwid and even the design is average and space problem..

anil dhiwar nah the kwid has more space, mileage, inerior etc. but the eon beats the kwid in quality. But the when you go for a car at this particualar price range, the kwid has more than enough gadgets equipped in it
Is it worth to buy this car. I heard lot of sound coming from the car and for few people mileage is not up to the mark and they are getting approx around 11 to 14. Also many people getting some problem after purchase like car not starting, battery issue arc. I booked kwid and would like to have advice from kwid owners or Moto beam team

Hi Motorbeam team it is really a nice video with detailing and compare with top 3 budget cars. can you please suggest me one thing very honestly is this car good for purchase. i had a alto 800 but i sold my car as i want to purchase this car but few people are saying that this car has few major problems like 1. engine sound - its very noisy 2. once you cross 100 in speedometer you cant feel much power or boost or punch from engine and car staring is also not very much stable. if you could advice me which car i should purchase it would be very help for me as i am planing buy a car immediately and my budget is 5 lack (except nano, any alto and eon). waiting for your reply. thanks

+MotorBeam hey thanks for your prompt reply. really appreciate but Celerio !! you know what one my friend bought this car and couple of days before i drove it as well but to be honest i did find it much exceptional from alto 800 . both the cars look same and interior also almost same apart from engine power and the fuel efficiency in city specially bumper to bumper traffic is 14 to 15. as i told you earlier i was a alto 800 owner and i was pretty satisfied with the car but i am 6.1 ft toll and in alto leg room was really not sufficient for people like me. as i told you i have already booked Kwid. i am waiting for its delivery which is after 2 months, so what do you suggest should i stick on it or i should move to another car. in between i took a test drive of ford figo new one its a very good car but millage is very poor according to sales person in city its max 12 kmpl.. i am very keen to take your suggestion. kindly suggest which i should i buy as i am getting confused now..i really dont want to take any wrong decision as it is quite big investment.. guys pls help me.. waiting for your reply.. thanks

on these cars the best i s Hyundai eon is good for long drive nd also it is perfectly match for city also noo noise easy acceleration nd string is soo lite among 3 nd handling also gud on eon ! I have use eon for 3 years no prb no need to put single rupee also !!!!!! it's simply rock now iam using waronar R but eon is sooooooooo smooth the. wagonar R. also!!!!

Got the kwid facelift 1.0 neotech edition recently... highway mileage was 23kmpl average.... it was unimaginable.
I m an owner of kwid rxt1.0 and to be honest I do feel it lacks pulling but driving is comfortable and space and design of kwid is very nice.. I used to have eon few years ago it's a good car with good space and no problem in pulling but it's not the best looking car and alto pulls good but lacks in space steering is lil hard m not a fan of alto design but alto got good gearbox which both eon and kwid lacks..

According to me i think Hyundai Eon is most superior, attractive,and bold design as well less maintenance car. It's AC was super duper good as compared to another car in this segment . Having a great milege on city and highways . My Eon give 22-24 on highway and 20-22 in city it was very good . The most amazing thing of this car is having a very silent engine as campare to kwid and alto . Now a day in from 2018 eon also provide 2 Airbag for the safety purpose . I face only one negative thing on eon that is no enough ground clearance. Otherwise I is very good car and i am very glad to see how people show theirs love for eon as they already know this car discountinue.

Yes, the Alto's seat is lower and the seat itself isn't as comfortable as the Eon.
