VW plastic self destructs once it leaves the factory, you get used to it
Seals on rocker cover o rings mate . You have to get it running .oil in intercooler if it's a small amount don't worry but you will not have boost pressure with that hole in the intercooler that would have been my first job bumper last job

Oil in the spark plug holes might just be a leaky cam cover gasket mate, hopefully nothing too serious. Those clips can be a pain even if you have decent access. On a 20 year Old engine that's been through thousands of heat cycles, you're always going to break clips! Look forward to the next instalment, good effort so far, keep at it!

Great video Bud, looking forward tot he next instalment. I think had the same engine on an Octavia, though with a smaller turbo. It was in lots of VW, Audi, Skoda & Seat's of that era and in my experience it was strong, reliable engine. Your life must be on charge, feel for you not having access to 240v mains.

You can use a cable tie to put under the plastic electric clips to hold the tab down

Rocker cover gasket? If worried do a compression check, but more importantly, please sort the sound out, your talking is quiet and mellow, followed by music loud enough to burst your ear drums (ok nearly loud enough).
That’s exactly what it was mate, I changed it in the latest video 😁 thank you for your feedback, I do know I need to sort the sound out when Im talking to the camara, Ill invest in a decent mic. Once I get a unit the sound should be a lot better too as they’ll be less background noise aswell
