    Sasha and Yasmin plus plenty of other characters could be considered asian if people didn’t only think of Asia as China, Japan and Korea😂. Maybe MGA could have changed some of the tokyo collector dolls skintone to be darker, but if people weren't really stuck on "canon" ethnicity, maybe they can see some Sasha as South Ssian and some Yasmins as South east Asian or vice versa.

    Yasmin is one of my favourite bratz because she looked like me even tho I'm a southeast asian boy (Also she didn't really look like me but still). And yes there are tan Jades, it's just that Yasmin's style and vibe fits me more. Btw i love your perspective on bratz and you seem like a really sweet person. I would love to see more videos from you

    bratz is diverse no doll does representation and inclusivity so natural and genuine like bratz does . im so grateful carter created 4 different girls. but i do think they can do much better and expand their reach , and the second hand doll market not helping too the prices for poc dolls is so annoying as a poc i just feel dissapointed.

  • @equinoxflowersofcenturysen5881

    This video is very based. I agree bratz has alot of diversity. As a kid I never really paid attention to dolls races or body types. (Despite being mixed black and latina and chubby) But I always enjoyed all the bratz dolls and how varied their designs were.

    As much as I hate to say this Bratz was diverse for the time in a way similar to monster high was back in 2010. Because how many of the additional characters can you say looked like Sasha or Felicia? Because a good majority of not all of Bratz dolls either looked like Cloe, Jade or Yasmin, there weren't many characters that looked like Sasha throughout the line. Well yes Bratz is revolutionary for giving such a diverse line up of characters, it's still messed up Sasha and Jade constantly got the short end of the stick especially during the height of Bratz 's popularity. It's messed up and shouldn't have taken Bratz 20 years to get a pretty n punk doll, it's messed up that Sasha was originally supposed to be a part of the princess line but got replaced by a yasmin look alike who got her outfit and got to be in glamorous princess looks while Sasha didn't get any of that. It's sad Jade constantly got swapped out for kumi for a good majority of lines, it's fucked up that it took 20+ year's for the Bratz brand to finally give Felicia more dolls after constantly putting her on the back burner. What I'm saying is Bratz is iconic yes, but is it perfect? Absolutely not.

      @@Al17x I never knew that Sasha was replaced by Fianna “Yasmin Lookalike” in the princess line I’ve never heard of this until now and I’ve never seen a Princess Sasha prototype… 👀🤷🏻‍♀️ Sasha doesn’t even wear Fianna’s outfit in the television series she wears Roxxi’s outfit. That’s very interesting thank you for your comment 🥰 the reason certain dolls were not included in lines is explained in my video and has to do with retail stores not the Bratz franchise! Walmarts, Targets, and toy stores get to pick and choose who they want on the shelves. It is not up to MGA Issac Larrian has spoke about this in many interviews. 🤗

    • @DoIIyMama
      @DoIIyMama Před měsícem +3

      You realize none of that is doll manufacturers and designers fault. MGA just produces dolls, but ultimately what sells best is what gets reproduced. Retailers many times have denied sasha because of previous sasha sales being low. Internationally, cloe and yasmin have the most appeal, even in U.S. sasha in some states would not sell. There's a lot of colorism and racism which unfortunately for bratz, they can't opt out of.

    People get crazy when it comes to race. Not sure what people want anymore.
    They want white characters limited/gone. I heard someone says there was only two black people on a show with 5 main characters. And said there should have been more black people because how can two black people carry the whole black community. Like what..!?!? I think 2 out of 5 is great! And it’s flowing into dolls now as well. They want nothing but black and other ethnicities. But how can you do this with dolls?!?!? You would have to create sooo many! It’s just not easy to meet. However I do agree we need more Ken dolls and more ethnicities for Ken. All we have is like two that come out here and there and usually we only get a basic blonde Ken and black ken. We need more.
    Also if you speak out about race and prove how included they actually are they call you racist and try to cancel you lol. It’s crazy.
    White/latina/black etc you should be able to speak up about it. To tell someone they can’t because of them being white/white passing is actually racist.

    I don’t know why, but when I was a kid, I mean, I’m still a kid but when I was a really really young kid, I thought Yasmin was Indian. I don’t know why, but I remember the TV show mentioning that she was either Indian or Middle Eastern and I’ve believed it for the past 17 years.😂

    Actually Myscene was created/designed before Bratz, look at tye original sketches! Myscene were not a copy they just came out later because mattel was mad that the idea that was created was sold to MGA, It was just a way to rub it into MGA's face! If Isaac didn't sue Mattel first in like 2002 noone of this mess was ever going to happen!
