Everytime I sit down to look through my art books for inspiration I just end up spending an hour admiring the beautiful pictures and not actually creating anything afterward 😅

I’ve been obsessed with Goya recently. Third of May 1808 is one of my favorite paintings ever.

Ive just started collecting art books recently from some of my favorite artists and some art book videos make me feel like I should lean more towards self-help or I guess 'learning/development' based art books, so this one has been really helpful! I'm glad I'm not the only one who just wants to look at pretty art without big ol blocks of text in the way lol

Great collection! I somehow missed the name of the Klimt book & can't find a similar cover online. I really like the fold out pages it's like my very first art book, "The Great Masters" It's a shortened English version by the 1st Europe art historian (it's textbook so be aware its wordy.) So if you're into classic Italian artists, you may find it valuable. My art professor was thrilled when I brought it to class, lol. It was from our college library so it was odd she was so surprised, it was so freely available. I was able to purchase my own copy just as easily. It's funny how many amazing resources are within arms reach that we overlook.

Most of my books are art books! They are so beautiful and inspiring. I can’t help but collect them! (The ones I have are second hand as well)

I've got an Egon Schiele book by Taschen that I really like, it's got a lot of text about him, his life and inspirations but still lots of nice pictures of his art. It also has pictures and little analyses of works/artists that inspired him, which I like because you can see what he took from other artists and used in his own work!

I own ZERO art books with material bodies 🙄 Only PDFs. Hope to start collecting my favourite art books someday soon ♡ We have ordered a TV Vitrine which is going to have a lot of book shelves (it was designed by me so I made sure to have as much shelves as possible 😁), so I'll be prepared 🌟

i collect illustrated books, and i think it's very interesting how publishing companies have been reinventing themselves and making prettier books and even new editions of classic literature to bring new readers, like during the pandemic the book sales actually went up here!

I'm happy that I'm not the only one who collects art books! I have this book that's called "Boundaries" by Maya Lin which is about art and architecture and her life. It's a great book and you may like it too, but I love this video just taking about books that have to do with art (my favorite type🥰)! Very inspiring to my channel 📒💘📒💘

    that Klimnt book is gorgeous!
a lot of my art books are digital now, my bookshelves are too full and sadly cant take any more art books (and i just cant get rid of them just to get space)

I'm a big fan of abstract pieces and the thing you said about it just looking nice rly hit me cause I think a lot of art is just pretty ya know. Like you don't need to find meaning to it, the beauty just exists to exist. And analysis of abstract art misses the forest for the trees a lot I think cause I know when I'm creating I'm not thinking about what things mean I'm j going for a vibe. Anyways this was a rly cool vid :)

Love the collection. If you haven't yet, I highly recommend watching Hannah Gadsby's special "Nanette" on Netflix. Also the followup "Douglas". If you enjoy watching a lesbian go on art history rants you'll love her.
Eta- have tissues for Nanette. I cried a LOT.
