- Season 1 of XDefiant is now live and with it, we saw a good handful of changes as well as some new content so in today's video, I wanted to go through all of the changes and at least briefly outline the new faction and weapons that came with the season. What are your thoughts on Season 1 and the changes that came with it so far?

It appears that you can no longer shoot the spiderbot off of your face. I have been hugged by many spiderbots tonight and I couldn't shoot even a single one off of my face.

They could simply change the intel suit to only the person using it can see the people or limit the amount of players per team that can select that character.
This would be a good change, revealed players are only visible to the user
If they nerf it like that then they'd need to increase its range threefold or greater, maybe extend its duration too.
Don’t forget the team play factor. You are supposed to assist your teammates with that ability the same way phantoms assist with their barriers
@@Warowo Maybe make the enemies show up ONLY on the minimap for you and your team. It would still be a strong ability, but more fair.
I agree I said this from the start multiple wall hacks stacking is just boring
PSA: Apparently you need to activate the challenge for unlocking GSK, or your score won't count towards the 700 000 score required! (I noticed this when it still said "0/700000" after a couple of matches)

The game is starting to show it's dark ugly side.
Why do we have to activate it to begin with? If a new player just starts they should be able to unlock dedsec and GSK with the same xp.
Imagine 2 years from now (if this game lasts) and being a first time player, only getting half the factions.

Maybe it only applies to certain modes or there's a workaround because I've had many games where a teammate is standing in spawn for an entire match without ever moving at all.
@Soloman_Gumbal The people I've been seeing AFK all game will be standing completely still so no indication of them using anti-afk kick macros or a rubber band.

Maybe the afk timer doesn’t start if you’re adjusting your class??? But I’ve been kick and also seen players never move & stay the entire game.

Also would've been useful without being OP. This game seems to really rely on completely OP type abilities. Here's an Ultra that doubles your HP and gives you instantaneous regen, here's a small spider that takes multiple bullets to destroy that completely removes the enemies ability to do anything, here's a freakin' passive that gives you 8 extra damage per shot with fire damage that also hurts your health regen technically and another passive allows you 120 HP. Now Snipers/Marksman rifles are useless going for headshots against GSK? I don't say this often, but the ability/ultra/passive balancing in this game is actually cringe inducing. There is just no balance at all for it, despite the weapon balance being mostly alright.
I agree, Flak Jacket would be way cooler.

The Biovida is bugged! You can only use it like 3 times in a match and then it's greyed out no matter what you do for the rest of the match.
You can change the ability back to the other one and then back to Bio Vida and it should work
Same with Intel suit.
Game is a bit more broken than before. Animations throwing grenades or equipment is messed up too.

It’s doing it for everything it seems. I run hijack all the time and was noticing it as well.

Really need the shotgun's consistency to be improved
It seems like you can jump and shoot all yo want, even snipers you can make crazy jumpshots if just go for it. But if jump or slide with the shotgun the spread gets CRAZY high. So you have to run around like you didn't have a jump button if you want to so even semi decently with the shotgun.
Easiest way to balance the Intel suit is to make it ping the players. You can still see them through walls but you can’t track the like a wall hack. Ping them every 4 seconds like a submarine sonar.
Bunny hooping is still ridiculous overpowered and need's a proper nerf

Yall still complaining about this?? I seriously never saw it as an issue because my aim is usually better than a bunny hoppers aim to begin with.
I'm telling you them "so called skilled players" that uses bunny hopping are absolutely terrible at the game if they remove jumping in the game, I guarantee it will be difficult for them to get kills. Bunny hopping is like sbmm, without it, you will see exactly how terrible you truly are at a game.
The amount of times I've ALREADY headshot the sht out of a GSk and lost the gunfight with them at less then 10hp is INFURIATING! And for some odd reason I'm dying even further behind cover then ever before!!! Love the game, but GOT DAM SON! AND yall be careful the sweats are out HARD today!
When I used to play cod & apex, I would take clips on ps5 when I had a good moment I’d take a 15-30 second clip.
Funny thing about this game is the only time I feel the need to take a clip, is when I die when already around cover. It’s laughable how stupid it looks and how I know I was around cover. I agree, it’s worse than it was before. This game is fun, but if I sign off angrily when that happens too often, I don’t see the game lasting a while at least for me
@WhatsTheDylBr0 I agree. The Netcode will lose me. Not the jumping, not a hacker, not a snipe god, nothing but if this gets worse and not better I won't be able to stick through that.

Kinda sucks they accidentally removed the kill counter to let you know what kill streaks you are on.

I’ve had multiple games in a row where I can’t call in the radar ability and where my grenades don’t explode while using the same faction
I’ve had issues where my flash bangs don’t flash bang enemies and that’s been happening a lot. It’ll be right in front of them and nothing will happen to them

No matter how many nerfs you hit Spiderbot with, people are still going to use it until hijack can affect most abilities.
Hijack is vicious against GSK but useless against Echelon, Cleaners, and ehh, against Libertad and Phantoms.
It’s acc really good against phantoms cus flipping the shield gives u a free kill
@Will-zi6fn I said it's ehh because Mag Barrier has a longer cooldown, and if they already have the wall up, they usually are ADS'd. Having to use the hijack animation before trying to fight a pre-mag barrier Phantom will never be as efficient as tossing an EMP from around the corner.
Admittedly, when Hijack does work fast enough, it's always funny watching the Phantom send an angry emoji. Unless there are like 4+ Phantoms on the other team, I'll take Spiderbot and EMPs or just another faction entirely.
@@admiralalyssa I usually run emps as well for the barrier but they take to long to pop sometimes and I just end up dying
as far as i know to use hijack you dont have to be able to see a mag barrier , you can hack it from around a corner and iv had my spider bot hijacked and sent back to a team mate you just have to be aware and quick enough , also the cleaners drone can be hacked and sent straight back to the player that sent it but again you have to be quick and possibly out of the range of it or see it going across the map , a lot of ppl try it once and dont use it again thinking that its crap but they dont understand how it works because they want an "instant thing" rather than using it and taking the time to work things out.
Ive seen alot of people whine about the headshot passive but i think its cool that a game actually made balistic helmets actually stop a fucking bullet.
A ballistic helmet is not stopping a 50. Cal sniper lmao

As someone who often is "that guy" with the spider bot. I have played deadsec a lot more than any other faction, and only 2 games or so with highjack. Even I think they buffed the spiderbod too much! And this has nothing to do with the patch notes - but something that I find very problematic!
Mark is on record for saying something along the lines of "There will be no stealth nerfs or buffs, we will tell you about everything"
But here we have a significant change to gameplay, and I have seen almost no one talk about it, and certainly nothing from the Xdefiant team about it!
It used to be, if the spider bot jumped you, you could look down, shoot, and get it off that way. Even that would still take you of the game a bit, but a lot less than if you waited and let it do its thing.
Now this don't work. So when I as a deadsec follow my spiderbot around and it jumps someone, I know they are fucked! Then add they wont ignore ppl because they jumped them before, and wont be wasted if a teammate also have the bot. Adds up to a huge buff! And even though I cant send out as many as I used to, 40 second cooldown, still leaves me a lot of bots to send out.
I know. You can shoot it if you see/hear it, some say you can even melee it if times right, you can emp and hack. But often you are sprinting around this game, and you meet it right at a corner with no way to react. I really the feel the oportunity to shoot it off was nice, even if it wasn't a planned feature, it was something we all learned to do, and a good way to do it.
They could also add some button mash combo you had to push to grap it off your face and throw it away.
I have never really chimed in on the whine about spiderbot, because while annoying, it wasn't as bad as ppl often made it out to be - but now... Now I am on team "Fuck spiderbot"
My biggest thing is I just wish there were more challenges

For echelon I think they should have kept it the same cooldown. But for friendlies they should have changed it to just a map scan.
Or change it to a snapshot like valorant scans, instead of a tracking scan.

Have you noticed that they have fixed the rapid fire attachments on the ARs or not?
my connection got way worse and I also some games cannot use my Ability like the BioVida Boost. I have to change the fraction lol. The countdown/cooldown just gets missing
Faster battle pass progression is major cap... in pre season I could get up to half a level after a good match (without 2x battle pass XP), now I'm going 50 in 6 and get less than 1/5th of a level...
Also, sniper flinch should go downward instead of upward, it's supposed to be punishing and upward flinch with a sniper is more rewarding than punishing imo
That's weird, I remember playing XD on day 2 and I went 30 and 4 my first match, it was the Push Objective on that snow map and I got like... idk, 20% of the first Battle Pass Tier? I saw that, saw the shop prices and went "yeah, idk about this game" lol
@@UprisenGaming it's only rewarding when you aim at their groin and then fire when you get flinched. it will be around chest level. almost nobody is doing that though.
@@-Coded if aiming at groin = flinching to chest area, that means aiming at body = flinching to head area. And many people do aim at the body, that's why pro snipers' #1 tip to improve is to "aim higher". If you flinch downward however, you always deal less damage, no matter how high you aim, as it should be imo.
Been using the LVOA-C a fair amount and it seems like there might be a bug to do with the attachments that impact vert and horizontal recoil, e.g- using the muzzle brake decreases horizontal recoil as intended but increases the magnitude of the vert recoil quite significantly. Also, does anyone know if the rapid fire bug has been patched too?
I think a good change to the spider bot would be. Instead hugging the face it should wrap around your leg and disable your sprinting and jumping.
New content is great, but there are 2 huge issues.
1) New bugs with the update:
• Several abilities glitch out almost every match and won't recharge for the rest of the match. I've had this with Intel Suit and BioVida today, which are the only abilities I used.
• Spider Bot can't be shot from your face once again.
• Significant frame drops on PS5.
• Increased game crashes on PC.
2) The competitive side of the game is underwhelming:
• Ranked has some maps and modes that are not suitable for competitive play.
• There is no Faction Draft, which I expected to be a no-brainer. No-one wants to play competitive with 8 Phantoms.
• Top ranks have a max party limit of 2, which makes no sense for a teamwork focused game.
• Custom games are still not here, which means that competitive teams can't practice or compete.
Have the rapid fire barrel and muzzle been fixed yet?

Have you noticed that whenever you kill someone with a headshot, a little icon pops up in your crosshair for about 1/4 of a second, which is really annoying as it's very hard to see your reticle in case you're trying to shoot another player after the first kill

spiders make this game so tiring. I have been maining this game since launch but I can realistically see this coming to an end specifically because of spiderbots. Theyre so frustrating to deal with its making the game genuinely not fun for me
Has there been any word on making objective score apply to weapon xp? I love playing objectives but it feels unrewarding to do so when all that counts for your gun is kill xp.

I've been a Hijack main since i unlocked it week 1, and have been waiting for some help. its so incredibly useful when the right situation arises. However, bc of the cooldown it always feels better to hold it for a worse situation. I have counted in TOTAL only 3 other players in any of my games so far playing hijack as well (lvl 75 ive played a bit)
For those unfamiliar with the power behind Hijack, its not as simple as it sounds. When you use the Hijack ability it will hack EVERY HACKABLE PLACEMENT IN LOS (line of sight)
In an escort match I had run into a full mag barrier squad and managed to hack 4 of those walls with one hack on a couple occasions. Needless to say each time 4 of their placements became mine.... my team swept those poor souls 😂
It is not that the highjack is a bad ability. I just feel it is kind of wasted. Other people have to use their abilities, and I have to be there when they do. So while I can clearly see the upside, most of the things the hack can do, an EMP could do too, and on top of that, if I had something else, I could use my ability alot more, and not only when the right situation is there.
@Krydolph depends on the playstyle I guess, I heavily focus on gunplay and find myself not using abilities at all on most other factions. Leaving me to fallback on biovida boost (which is nice for agressive run n gun) or the hijack, I find that since I've been running hijack I can now semi consistently return Cleaners fire drones (this nets a kill pretty often) so while I agree it can be niche, it still proves to be an incredible utility tool for me that I find no shortage of uses for. That's the beauty of options, other people might prefer to gain info or kill potential from their ability. I personally want something flexible that can unexpectedly turn the tide when I'm going to lose due to an ability. To each their own, I'm just glad the devs are working so hard to balance things 😁

Even in games like Battlefield where you need to get a headshot to reliably kill a player in one shot they'll still cry and whine about snipers while using a weapon that's better in almost every way possible. Apparently, the only way they'll be happy is if snipers are gone altogether.🙄
I get kicked if im afk all the time. There are instances where i dont wait to get back the main menu and step away from my pc cuz i got sidetracked. Come back to a notification on the main menu saying i got kicked for inactivity

they also removed the killstreak counter unless I’m mistaken but I didn’t see it in game
Phantom ult can no longer destroy another phantom ult in one shot and maybe a glitch but rn sometimes the ult cant break the mag barrier, spiderbot can no longer be taken out shooting the floor, rapid fire on the ar's are still glitched, the flash will be black but still white from the afterimage, to get the new operator you have to select it to do the challange and idk if its me but it feels like AimAssist feels much more sticky

Mine has done it almost every day since I have started playing this game about 2 weeks ago. The only way I can fix it is to reinstall my drivers

Enemy footsteps location seem better, unless they're above/below you lol
I haven't played just yet since I got stuff I need to do and also one other game from 2016 was on sale (Its called SUPERHOT for anyone who is curious, great game. 10/10 IMHO) so I had to play that again, but I also think the GSK passive is just gonna be freaking OP and needs not a nerf, but just a complete change.
Removing headshots from all guns is just simply stupid. No other way to put it frankly. Only way I could see it even remotely working is by making some add health thing to it like 10 extra points to the head, but even then the better ability would of just been something like a Tac Mask or Flak Jacket thing. Not a complete removal of being able to deal headshots to those players.
Headshots should always be something that is rewarded, and its already bad enough with Phantoms with certain guns. But snipers in particular should always be a one shot kill to the head. I just don't see this working and honestly for competitive play this is even more stupid. Hope they switch that around in the future.
Been having a very frequent bug since the season 1 update. Almost every game my faction ability will be greyed out and unusable. I can use it maybe once or twice in a game, and then it won't let me use it for the rest of the game. I noticed it happens more often with the Echelon faction
The game feels really bad right now for some reason. I have massive framedrops, get shot around corners way more then before. The game felt way better before the update
So, the "nerf" to mid air directional changes while bunny hopping was definitely them having a laugh? Or did I miss where they made a single mid air directional change cost your accuracy dearly?
the gsk passive is just stupid... it makes no sense that certain guns deal LESS damage on headshots, not to mention that this is the opposite of how r6 siege plays, where 1 headshot=instant death, makes sense... I thought IQs ability opf seeing equipment through walls wouldve made a whole lot more sense.
I am going to hold off playing this game more, I am waiting till it's more ironed out. They still haven't added prestige mode yet as well, it's still being worked on
Honestly as someone who mained Zero in BO4 seeing hijack buffed for Dedsec makes me happy

@@Chrissy717 Hard disagree. BO4 was one of the best CoDs. They only needed to nerf a few abilities and send Zero to the shadowrealm and it would've been the best one. Btw BO4s abilities were WAY weaker than xDefiants.

Great that activating the 2X XP work like Battlefield. New season looks great but the matchmaking isnt really doing it lately, sometimes its severely off balance.

the most problems i have are hackkers and leavers. Sooo many times i get headshoted by a sniper when i was shooting them , and people can leave and get 0 penalty, people doesnt care about the exp so they just leave if they see they are loosing

Spam jumping still needs looked at, I honestly think that the sweet spot is two jumps them penalty sway sets in, not three then penalty.

Wait, Battle Pass tiers require less exp? I mean, I'm not going to complain but I blitzed through the pre season's pass without double exp in like 4 days. It's probably because the earnable weapons are pretty spaced out.
I would like to see a damage drop off for the smgs as they can outgun most weapons in mid range due to their higher rate of fire

Is anybody noticing that you can only use the intel suit twice a match? Its been like that this whole day. It takes 45 seconds to get the first intel ability and another 45 to get it again(as intended in notes) BUT after you use your second intel ability, you wont get another use in 45 seconds…OR EVER! The limit is 2 a match for that radar ping!!! This ruined the radar ping intel suit ability

The lack of a changes to how echelon wallhack works is pushing me away from this game . For real who got an idea to make this work for A WHOLE TEAM . Footsteps were too loud before S1 and I've got a feeling they buff it even further headphones gives heavy advantage and I can't use headphones as I suffer fatigue from sound that my character make moving around I just can't play in headphones in this game . I'm giving up on this game for Fev months if they sort out their problems I'll be back .
I think GSK would feel better if you can deploy the wire quicker, it takes 2 melees to take one out, and you only get 2 charges
Might just be me but i hope they make the shield deployment for phantoms able to shot through but with reduced damage because nobody even uses them for obj and just uses it to get a cheesy win in gunfights.
the passive of GSK makes so much sense now i was so confused getting hitmarkers in their heads. Def dont feel great about this, I don't want to have to scope in and realize oh its GSK i better not shoot their head. i would much rather see multiplier reductions around their whole body, and maybe just their upper torso and head have the same multiplier. Seems very poorly thought out on the dev's part

Why dont they leave the intel ability the way it is but rather then show the whole team where they are at right away the person activating it has to ping the person they aim at then your team gets to see them ass well
